  • What does obliviate do?

  • what music did you use for this video? Great choice!

  • *JUST SO EVERYONE KNOWS, SHE GETS HER PARENTS BACK!*

Deathly Hallows; Chapter 6; Page 97. ''Assuming I survive our hunt for the Horcruxes, I'll find Mum and Dad and lift the enchantment, If I don't well I think I've cast a good enough charm to keep them safe and happy''

  • This is soo sad. I feel sorry for her. 

  • I feel I've missed out on so much as I've never read the books, and Harry Potter (the movies) have been a big part of my childhood.

Now I've seen all the movies, regardless of what I know what happens, I'm actually purchasing every single book and reading them all to fill those empty gaps I missed. :)

  • @ArgonathAmy

My approach to HP is the same. Films first. Then (audio) books.

There are many sad moments in the HP universe and as seen from the film it is a little different from the books, or there would be an urgent need for a narrator to fill in gaps.

This film scene becomes one of the strongest showcases of Hermiones character. Yet at Dobbys death she is check mate with no ability to help. Powerful scenes from capability to inability never doubting her loyalty.

  • I have to say, this was one of the most memorable scenes for me

  • i always get the chills when u c her disappearing from the pics...

  • What's the name of this song? It's beautiful! :)

  • Guys check the original scene :')

    best opening :')

    watch?v=GfvkXJG2ACw

  • her mother reminds me to aunt petunia ;o

  • Beautifully edited; it captures the mood of the scene perfectly. :)

  • very sad scene.....:( what happens to her parents btw? do they get the memories back or not ? i havent read the last book :[

  • @Snip3rfy They move to Australia (she made that their ambition), then after the Battle of Hogwarts, she tracked them down and restored their memories...Really, you've got to read the book. It's the most beautifully written and touching in the series.

  • @xWhatsYourFandomx i wish i did. my brother owns all the books but i never read any of them. i think i will start today! :)

  • i cried during this scene =( it was so sad

  • The sound in her voice is amazing, the acting beautful. This video?! Blew me away.

    im so subscribing you.

  • omg, is that true?! Like truly true?! She actually did that? Wow is this gonna be in Part 2? God, I wanted to cry, I would never do that to my parents, I would just tell them I'm a wizard!

  • @disneymusic92 A, this was in part one. O_o

B, her parents omfg KNOW she is a witch, that's not what it is all about! O_________o

C, she did it because she PROTECTED them from Death Eaters and Voldemort! That's called a love!

and D, she returned them their memories back after the war.

  • @Restrictedbeauty ok ok ok that's good that they know and that she gives them their memories back, I actually figured that out on my own that she wanted to protect them... :D I love Harry Potter hehe

  • @Restrictedbeauty dude your telling it wrong she cant give them back once they got deleted they cant get back by the way she will live together with harry and ron in rons house verry sad actually she did delete the memorys cause she knows they wont know her thats why she cries

  • @jillvalentineRE5 Deathly Hallows; Chapter 6; Page 97. ''Assuming I survive our hunt for the Horcruxes, I'll find Mum and Dad and lift the enchantment, If I don't well I think I've cast a good enough charm to keep them safe and happy''

  • @Restrictedbeauty did she return them? when? I don't remember reading that!

  • @disneymusic92 they knew she was a witch, but they never would let her go an help harry defeat Lord Voldemort, so she decided to use a "memory loss" spell on them to forget all about her, tht means they didn't care about her anymore a a daughter , cus they never knew her

  • @disneymusic92 Have you even read/watched a Harry Potter book/movie in your life?

  • thats so sad if it was me i wouldnt know what to do

  • this scene is so sad. felt like crying in the movies lol

  • this is one of the most saddest scenes in the film!nice made

  • OMG, so beautifully done! I was ready to cry and the song you used made it even more dramatic! Love it!!! I really want to know the name of the song you used, it just won't leave my head after I watched the vid.

  • @DawnOfAngel Shattered by x-ray dog.

  • What a sacrifice for Hermione. A 17 year old girl having no choice but to Obliviate her parents' memories so they go to Australia without any knowledge of ever having a daughter. Hermione is protecting them as parents of a Muggleborn, then going off to risk her own young life for a world where many people HATE her for not being a pureblood.

I'd like to think I'd do the same thing in Hermione's position but the thought of your beloved parents not even knowing you exist must be so painful.

  • omg, not the tears again!!

think about losing your parents, when u probably will need them most, thats what Hermione is losing at this point in the film (i think)......

    LONG LIVE FAMILY!!

  • In response to your video description: Exactly!!!

  • This gives me goosebumps... I was so close to tears when I saw this.. and it's even in the beginning of the movies, that's sick.. <3

  • omg im crying now

  • What's the name of that song?

  • This scene felt so bad it made cry first time in years.

  • Sad moment for hermione and us

  • So does hermiones parents get their memory back?

  • @rstraveldummy I won't take you the surprise!

  • i think itz so sad she has 2 make her parents even 4 get they even had a child

and did u hear the shakiness in there voice

  • @rstraveldummy no they dont!!

  • may i ask, after she obliviated her parents' memories, how the heck are they gonna remember her once she returns from the hallows search? im so sorry for sounding like a noob(watched all movies, no books) here, but i remembered watching HP n COS, obliviate is permanent charm right? that lockhart guy never did get back his memory.. and yes this movie was awesome :)

  • @missshoeaddict Actually it's not permanent, you can return the memories back. "That Lockhart guy" never got his memory back, because he use Obliviate with Ron's damaged wand. The spell returned against to him because of it, remember?

  • @Restrictedbeauty ahh okay..now i remember ~ thanks for the clarification,love the vid :))

  • @Restrictedbeauty Technically, it was also because Lockhart intended to use a more powerful version of the spell to the point where reversal would be very difficult, if not impossible.

And yes, it was pretty much implied in the book that Hermoine would go back and return her parents' missing memories to them.

  • @Restrictedbeauty He also got hit on the the head by some boulders and shit

  • @Restrictedbeauty Aaactually, I read that nobody really knows if there is a cure to Obliviate. So far, as much as I know, there isn't one and Hermione's parents don't get their memories back.

  • @llamasrok And did you read what exactly? The books? Because you should read them ALL, if you want to know the right answer or not.

  • She sounds like shes gunna cry when she says, "Coming, mum." Very well done. I love emma + hermione!

  • so very sad :'(

  • i almost cry watching this ...

  • Is it because you changed the color (and music maybe) that Warner bros entertainment let you keep this up??

  • Comment removed

  • nice but can offer a version with the original music from the film? Its more haunting

  • Alexandre Desplat - The Oblivation

  • This is such a sad scene but I was wondering what song is this?

  • This part it's, ohh... amazing. I can't explain that.

  • this part is so sad :'( when i saw i almost cry...

  • This scene had me on the verge of tears. And it was only the first 30 seconds or so of the film. Great film.

  • she was never apriciated for how strong she is!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • @heartandsoulprodz now come on seriously, do you evven think that is her character and have you seen any other films let alone, read the books - everyone knowns the killing curse is not obliviate

  • @heartandsoulprodz wtf you idiot.

  • My absolute FAVORITE scene in the movie. I was so happy they started the movie out like this. "Coming mum" gave me chills, and so sad.. especially when she disappears from the pictures :(

  • oh and: whats the song called in the background????

  • @glittzermaus18 I'd like to know that also!

  • the way she says:"Comming Mom" gives me chills and makes me suffer with her ....I love this scene...it's so powerful and sad.....great movie

  • I want to see this so bad. This is a pretty sad scene.

  • this was one of most touching scenes of this film.

  • that was beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!! i almost cried. where on earth did you find the clips?????

  • i almost started crying during this scene, and the movie wasn't even 2 minutes in.

    where'd you find this clip?

  • @harrypotterchic1 I absolutely agree with you. I saw the movie yesterday and I cried too altough it's the first scene!

  • @wallaby9one you realize hermione eventually gives her parents the memories back and they live happily ever after?

  • @Da1337ed so hermione gives there parents their memory back?

  • @jesse121291 totally man, the charm was a temporary safety precaution just in case hermione doesn't make it back. the whole dramatic scene of this movie is overdone, which isn't a bad thing because it proves how cute hermione is and how much empathy she can incite :3

but no need for the silly overdrama, her parents totally get their memoryy back

  • @Da1337ed I kind of see the point in it being very dramatic. She was upset because she didn't know if she was ever coming back for sure. She and the boys weren't sure if they were going to defeat Voldemort. If things had turned out a different way, she might have made her parents forget forever to keep them safe.

  • This is the scene where I started crying, and I didn't stop until the end of the movie.

  • that was soo sad...you can see it in her eyes...she´s suffering!

  • NUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT ABOUT D: SO SAD DDDD:

  • I cried at this, it was so heartbreaking for me, few minutes in and i was a wreck.

  • No mamen ya ya estava chiyando y apenas empezaba la pelicula xdd

  • this part was so sad! I almost cried in the theatre

  • i was bawling during this part. and the idea that she did this to keep her parents safe.... touching. remind me, in the end, does she find her parents and restore their memories?

  • I couldn't believe this scene got me tearing up... just a couple of minutes into the movie! Brilliant.

  • oh my god! i cannot wait to see this!!!

  • Oh ... I commented yesterday and I can not find it ...

I love this scene and wanted to know where you found him? Because it is not on You Tube ...

  • :( i so badly want to see this movie!!

  • SO sad! :'(

  • Amazing film and this scene was heartbreaking :-(

  • This whole movie was so emotional! I cried throughout it. This was perfect hun!

  • that part wasnt actually in the book, but im glad they added it. so sad and emotional. i liked the movie sooo much!!

  • @LuvJackDawson it was mentioned in the book, Hermione tells Ron and Harry, but we never see it through Hermione's viewpoint exactly. I like how the beginning of the movie was centered around all three of their view points instead of just Harry's. Made it different in a good way.

  • @BlacksGodDaughter yeah i know, Hermione told about that when they were at the Burrow, but the scene was never really described in the book and we get to see it in the movie, which is really cool. by the way, soon i'll send you the pics from book premieres, fan meetings in Bulgaria, if you still want them... :)

  • @LuvJackDawson Oooh yes please! Email or PM it to me; and if you email it to me put your youtube username in there as well! Thanks.

  • This was a beautiful scene, i watched the movie last night. BUT, and i know i'll sound like an idiot now, but why did she do this?

  • @mimitemple She wanted to go with Harry and Ron, to find horcruxes, so she haved to put a spell on her parents, ofc..

  • @Eminimiina so she stopped time or what exacly? sorry i'm so dumb. xD

  • @mimitemple She erased her parents' memory.. So now they don't remember Hermione at all.. That's why she disappeared in all photos ^^

  • @Eminimiina oh, i see! wow. that's horrible! thanks for explaining :)

  • @mimitemple because her family is in danger because many muggles were killed and hermione wanted to safe her family
