i have this same camera i bought like a year ago, unfortunately it doesnt have a mic input, i have another sony camera and its more than 12 years old from the video 8 family, it has a better picture and mic input and manual focus and the ZOOM slider is much smoother than the dcr hc62 model.... i dont know why sony and....the world has changed that much.... notice>> iam talking the same price range which is around $300
Hey i have the sony DCR-HC62 like yours but for some reason when im in low light the camera wants to go into slow motion..Is there any way that i can fix that??
I was looking up videos on this camera because i was interested in buyimg one, but the lowest price i can find is 270 dollars. Ill pay that much if i find out its the lowest price, so, tell me, how much did you buy yours for and where? Cool video, by the way.
I bought the HCR62 because it has smooth interval recording (Sony's name for time lapse recording) and that was one of the features I really wanted. Other than that I'm not sure what the differences are.
The camera does not come with a firewire cable and you need one to download the video to your computer. They probably charge $20-$30 at Best Buy but I got one from Amazon for like $1 plus $4 shipping.
Hi, I would also like to buy this camera soon. It looks pretty good and has 1,07 Mpix. But I would like to know if the audio is good! And if there's a lot of inside noise from the tape. Can you upload a video with sound, captured from the camera in a quiet room? Or just tell me what you think? Please answer!
There is some audio buzz audible in a quite room from the motor spinning the tape, but it is only noticable in a quiet room. I've only worked with one other sony mini-DV camcorder and the audio buzz was similar to that camera. I posted another video called "Sony DCR-HC62 audio sample" with the original sound. I hope this helps.
I think every single camcorder has a motor noise problem, the microphone is too close to the tape. I think the best way is to buy a camera with a mic input so you can buy an external microphone instead!
Name of the song ? please!

In P-Menu > Menu > Camera Set > AUTOSLW SHTR, turn off the option. I think this will help.
