People really do not know the difference between live and studio singing! Rihanna definitely sang this song live and she sounded amazing. If you do not believe me then listen to the studio version. She takes intiative in her voice and does not sing the excat rhythm of the song or in the live version she opt out to sing the higher part and sang it a lower octave down. Listen to all her aol session and compare it to the studio one and that's when you will be able to hear and see that she was sing
