  • 1997 was the year of Austin 3:16!

1997 Stone Cold was at his best. His in ring skills were at their peak. He was amazing on the mic. Talking shit, and entertaining like no other. The fans didn't know hwo to react to him. He was an equal opportunity ass kicker.

Fuck man, I miss wrestling like this!

The Rock comes back last night, and that fizzled. 1998's Rock was a million times better than 2012's version

  • Even back then his knees were fucked. I am suprirsed that he even lasted that long. I am not sure that they should have allowed Steve to go along with all those insults..real or not. Bret Hart has had a fucked life now.

  • @RedRhino0077 ummm, you could say the same things about any of the top stars. Hulk hogan was a nobody till he got the gimmick, the rock was a nobody till he changed from a goody two shoes to a cocky heel.

  • Stone Cold was a nobody in his past and he got a good gimmick and ran with it. I faced him when he was in the WCW and he was a middle carder at best.

  • @RedRhino0077

    you faced him?

  • vince knew it

  • impact zone

  • wrinkled up old man lolll

  • Damn I remember watchin these old episodes with the rabbit ears still on my TV now :( so sad.. But Stone Cold was the best on the Mic always made me and my dad laugh at the shit he used to say .. fuckin miss them times

  • @kistenmacher215 Rabbit ears? For a cable channel?

  • @xammas1245 rabbit ears is a type of antenna. we didnt always have digital back then.

  • What I wouldn't do to go back to 1997 and start this era all over again.

  • YOU GONNA GIVE ME A PIECE OF EQUIPMENT THAT WORKS SON OR AM I GONNA HAVE TO WHOOP YOUR ASS!!!!!

  • Stone Cold Steve Austin, master of the 'put down'.

  • stone cold doesnt mind getting his ass wooped

  • Austin = Best guy on a mic, EVER, and One of the best in a ring EVER...I miss seeing him on WWE TV, Made me laff my ass off ALL the time...AWESOME entertainer!!

  • truth is 96-98 stone cold had a better badass attititude than the rest

  • Ironically --- Bret and Steve are good friends..... And ... Bret is one of the big reason's why austin got over so huge...

  • lol what a joke of a promo ... austin shoulda did the cena way...that is way entertaining....cena's jokes are so funny he should be a comedian....austins promo's = garbage....you guys should see Cena's recent promo with del rio...fucking funny !

  • @JSPUFC dont ever compare cena to austin 3:16 unless you want your ass whooped

  • @JSPUFC You have no idea how full of shit that statement actually looks.

  • @JSPUFC

Cena's promos are nowhere near as good as Autin's were.

  • @JSPUFC what are you 7? cena jokes are corny that children giggle to.

  • @JSPUFC lol why do you evn bother trying with yawn cena any true wrestling fan does not watch a cena match, first he is not funny because he is too dam square and has no skills other than sounding and acting like a robot, and if you suck trying to make a promo its not worth watching the guy, the only reason he is anything is because vince has a man crush on cena and thinks he is perfect for the image of the all american good guy who stands up to evil and sometimes raps to be funny but its just sad

  • @JSPUFC well at least i knew you were joking :)

  • @TheBC313 thank god....you're my new best friend since these clowns can't even see sarcasm

  • @JSPUFC I don't see why so many people are complaining. Cena's freaking hilarious!!!

  • This is before that retarded 'what?!' nonsense. Whehn he didnt have to rely on gimmicky bullshit.

  • @tuulenkoti "what" was cool though, people still stay it even though he retired 8 or 9 years ago

  • Steve Austin told it like it is! Bret Hart whined like a little baby and quit just because he didn't get his way that night. Austin was jerked around and didn't get his way for 7 years! lol smh

  • Damn, Austin promos are fire

  • for those who are being moronic and think that their cool by comparing the stars of the 90's to the stars of today, seriously go Pedi-Stun-Bottom yourself.....what are you guys going to say next??? "SIDNEY CROSBY will NEVER be GRETZKY!"....No Shit sherlock.....

  • @jtrebel32 thanks dude i really needed that.

  • CM PUNK will NEVER be AUSTIN!

  • @minstrel34 Of course not kid

U don´t know a shit, that comparison is bullshit, GET LOST SON

  • Stonecold changed the WWF forever by becoming the baddest, toughest & the strongest S.O.B. .

  • after bret leavin wwf .. steve austin became a man

  • @kingalex1283 Thank You my thoughts exactly. It cracks me up that some people think they can actually argue that point. Look at the facts right.

  • wcw went down bcoz it let wrestlers like austin n undertaker go,both were at wcw b4 wwf, idiots at wcw got what they deserved

  • @waliasaheb Undertaker was there way before the monday night wars started though. WCW went down because they went with the NWO storyline way too long while not pushing any new talent. All that while Stone Cold came into character and the WWF was getting more exciting. If WCW had kept Undertaker and Stone Cold anyways, you can expect a complete different turn of events. Stone Cold existed because he was pissed off from not getting a chance to shine and getting shafted for people like Hulk Hogan

  • @waliasaheb Not to mention people constantly say that Vince killed WCW, etc.Vince never tried to attack anyone. You can see it in the Monday Night Wars dvd.WCW attacked first, which Bischoff admits, and tells the story how it happened, and WWF tried to avoid it, but they couldn't.So you're completely right, they totally deserved it.Ohh, and yes, they were idiots.Jeff Jarrett was awesome, but HHH, Stone Cold, Chris Benoit, Y2J, Eddie Guerrero, Big Show, sucked...idiots...lolol.Peace ;)

  • Corded mic lol

  • This is the way to bitch about things without seeming like a whiny, pathetic, nipping at your heel jack russell terrier that Bret Hart's character always seemed to be. Bret Hart is up there in the top twenty of quality wrestlers ever to have graced the ring, but he is and was a far far far cry from being the best there was, the best there is and the best there ever will be

  • bret hart's return to the wwe was the most pathetic thing I'd ever seen...f bret hart

  • This was CLASSIC!

  • Do you know another name of stone cold? it is legend!

  • Bret Hart screw job was a scrited also, only bret hart & vince know about it

  • @TheN3DChannel I'm not sure which screw job are you talking about, but if we're talking about the Montreal Screw Job, then Earl Hebner, Vince McHannon, Shawn Micheals, were ALL in on that screw job, the only person who wasn't was Bret and he was extremely pissed. But I definitely love how this promo wasn't scripted. Attitude Era for the win.

  • @DaLegendof007 No thats what they want us to believe. Im saying Bret wanted to leave wwf, and so Vince must've said to Bret "hey lets screw you & it'll look unscripted and people will go nuts, that way you keep your respect and my character as the evil boss will become greater" Then when Owen died...Bret got extremley pissed off

  • @TheN3DChannel That is not what happened. Bret wanted to stay with WWE and signed for less money with a longer contract to do so. WCW offered him 9 million for 3 years and he elected to take about that much but over a 20 year period to stay loyal to the WWE. When the WWE was in really bad financial straights McMahon told Bret he would release him from his contract if he wanted because he couldn't afford to pay him. At that point it was amicable but then the screwjob happened and bad blood.

  • @joekoe97 Nah dude, im telling you Vince is a Genius, its all fake.

  • @TheN3DChannel Is Hart punching Vince as hard as he could, giving him a black eye and concussion as well as the Undertaker threatening Vince telling him to apologize fake? Trust me the screwjob was not fake. If you read about the back story and watch documentaries on it, there's one from Bret Hart's perspective on Netflix, you'll see how it justhappened and the reasoning behind why Vince did it. He may have had the idea of using himself as a heel after but the Screwjob was as real as could be

  • @joekoe97 Ive seen everything, i watched it when it actually happend.

  • @TheN3DChannel When it happened doesn't matter it's what you know happened behind the scenes and what led up to it. Saying it was all concocted by McMahon is simply speculation after the fact. It's more likely the Russians ordered Oswald to shoot Kennedy than McMahon concoting the Screwjob from the beginning.

  • Stone cold at his finest

  • I 100% completly agree with everything Austin said. If I was there in Wrestling I would have been there saying all that b4 Stone Cold

  • If I was there I would say the same damn thing. Bret Harts was a cry baby.

  • 1:05 Vince has $ $ signs in his eyes

  • @FISCDMC lol, calculations going off in his head.

  • @FISCDMC always has..whats new...lol

  • This was right around when Stone Cold was starting to gain popularity in the "WWF". Nobody really knew how big this guy would become!!!! Austin also changed the way wrestling did business because if it wasn't for him there wouldn't have been the attitude era!!!!!

  • WELL IF YOU WANT ME TO FACE THE UNDERTAKER, YOU COULD BRING HE'S DEAD ASS OUT HERE, CAUSE I THROUGHT IT OVER THE TOP ROPE LAST NIGHT

  • is this boxing?

  • 0:51

    Stone Cold: Knock it off!

    Crowd: WHAT?!!!

  • Austin 3:16 says I just whipped your ass!!!

  • Austin: The bottom line is, when the going gets tough, the harts get goin, back home

    Crowd: *cheers*

    Austin: Knock it off

    Crowd: *booooo*

    LOL

  • Comment removed

  • @ratedtriplex ?? uhh They didn't cheer, they boo'd and then bood louder after he said knock it off.

  • @masterpete24 nah man, there are some cheers right after he said that. it might be a small amount of ppl, but they are vocal enough to be heard on camera.

u can hear it if someone gives u a piece of equipment that works before u whip their ass!! lol j/k

but seriously this is about the time when stonecold was starting to get cheers leading up to wrestlemania. i had an episode of raw on tape where he was wrestling sid, a top face at the time, and all u heard were "austin" chants

  • @ratedtriplex are you gonna write a decent comment are do i have to whip ur ass!!

  • @jjohnson218 LMAO

  • THIS WAS THE BEGINNING OF MR.McMAHON

  • YOU GONNA GIVE ME A PIECE OF EQUIPMENT THAT WORKS SON OR I'D HAVE TO WHIP YOUR ASS

  • I love how the crowd starts to cheer Austin and he says "knock it off" LMAO!

  • Austin's heel character was the best character in the history of wrestling

  • This was TRUE SCSA

  • Austin at his finest. His first heel run in the WWF. He was never actually a good guy. He just started beating up the bad guys" so the people started cheering .

  • wow Austin booed, although I can't see it being genuine (as in he meant it) just to generate heat. Love to the both of them!!

  • Goddamn I love the Attitude era!

  • haha man. this was when shit was good...

  • one of Stone Cold's best, and he's had a lot of good ones.

  • alot of the promod at this time werent scripted that why they were so great

  • has any1 seen the video where sc and vince are int he ring and the mic doesnt work so stone cold throws it up the ramp,i cant find it

  • Where's the rest lol

  • Lol the microphone part was funny :P

  • how can someone even compare this bald ugly drunk scum stone cold with a hero like bret ?. comeon dudes stone cold is ugly he used to fight in that gay black underwear lmao and if u look at bret his jacket his face his sunglasses his music is awesome. i think bret looked like a hero.

  • @brethartforlife2010 you are ignorant

  • @brethartforlife2010 Gay black tights? You're the one judging male characters based on their appearance, describing their faces and outfits, and you're calling someone else gay?

Stone Cold was one of the greats. He was very entertaining and the epitome of attitude for the Attitude era, which was the best time for wrestling as far as I'm concerned.

That being said, Bret Hart was awesome just the same.

  • preachdatruth69 << stone cold never won bret hart fair and sqaure. but bret kicked his azz to the bloody poop on wrestlemania 13 . get yah facts right u liar

  • preachdatruth69 << what a liar this guy .royal rumble 97 bret hart did threw stone cold from top first but the refrees did not see it and again final 4 happend and bret won it . he even beated the shit out of stone cold in wrestlemania 13 ... when bret hart became world champion stone cold might be in pampers he would be a baby

  • guys i cant understand one thing stone cold allways lost to bret hart in every match still this guy stone cold has no dignity he still talks trash about bret damn . this man stone cold had no shame for sure.

  • "You gonna gimme a piece of equitment that works son or I'll whip your ass!!" Classic Austin.

  • BRET HART: I beat Stone Cold every time i thought him!

    Bret Hart owned Stone Cold.

  • @Krillep Austin threw his ass over the top rope at royal rumble 97,he beat him at In Your House Taker's Revenge and he kicked his ass in that Street Fight. He Must've forgotten about those cans of ass whoopin!!!

  • austin knew from heart that bret hart is better then him . bret hart defeated stone cold 3 times fair and square. check out the history..bret hart is a hero and everyone should admit it.

  • steve austin talks to much but he never won bret . . i still remember on wrestlmania 13 bret made austin cry lol when ken shamrock was the refree..lolz haha austin was crying and when he lost again he took out his frustration on a refree lol

  • @brethartforlife2010 You know the whole show is scripted, right? It's like laughing at an actor because their character in a movie cried.

  • @Malumbrus back then the segments and scenarios were scripted...the promos were all them, it even says on the so called "script" (Austin enters ring) Austin: "Cuts promo" no lines, nothing, he said all this right off the top of his head.

  • @King2123 That's what I meant when I said it was scripted. The matches and their outcomes are all planned. They would talk to eachother in the ring when they were in holds and the like, telling eachother what they were going to do, and improv moves here and there, but for the most part they knew what was going to happen before they even got out there.

  • @brethartforlife2010 He was not crying dumbass, his face was covered in blood and he was in pain. Crying? No.

  • What I love the most is that this promo was NOT scripted.

  • @adzyb69 yeah. back then they just said ok steve, go to the ring and be a monstrouss a-hole for 3 mins

  • @adzyb69 are you fucking out of your mind of course it was scripted you must be mentally challenged to say that.......seriously was it meant to be funny or your handicapped?

  • @omairiqbal889 Yeah. Steve Austin himself said this was "complete in-prov" and this actual segment made it number 3 in the all time "breaking kayfabe" moments in WWE History, but yeah it was scripted -_- Plus you used the wrong context of the word "You're" ...."You're" is what you should have said. Go back to school please. You literally know nothing.

  • @adzyb69 oops sorry man i though your a troll, any ways you do agree wrestlers of today are not nearly as talented on the mic as steve austin was and not nearly good in-ring performers as bret hart was,and about "you're" lol i did go to school but english is not my first language i am from Pakistan so excuse my bad english and thanks for pointing out my grammatical error :)

  • @adzyb69 yeah, most of Stone Cold's promos weren't

  • @destructoboy995 That's why they were so amazing! 1997 best year in wrestling history!

The competition between WCW and WWF was at an all time high and it drove both companies to all time greatness. I always preferred WWF because I grew up with it, but I watched a lot of WCW in 1997 as well.

The fact that there is no competition for WWE anymore really hurts their product.

    STONE COLD LEGEND!!

  • @GialloHorror I know. I think the best promos come from the heart, not from a piece of paper.

  • @destructoboy995 that´s true

  • @adzyb69 It was scripted and it was way before Montreal. This match lead to the infamous I Quit match between the two where Austin did one hell of a blade job.

  • @adzyb69 you must have worked for WWF didnt you?

  • that one chick needs to stfu

sounds like shes right next to stone colds mic

  • @adzyb69 I like to know how u know that...i want to confirm it by evidence. its a the real fan on me.

  • @adzyb69 Vince Russo says he scripted this era's promos.

  • When Austin turns to the crowd and says 'knock it off'. LOL

  • Stone Cold challenged and insulted so many people in this one segment.

  • "Sycho Sid may be at home with a concussion and an ice pack on his head, but he also has a yellow stripe runnin down the middle of his back!" ROFL! hahahahahaha Austin was the best on the mic!

  • Vince looks genuinely pissed. lol

  • austin and the rock heel or no heeel fans always cheered forem

  • @puunjabirockstar

Don't forget john cena now he is a 9 TIME 9 TIME WORLD CHAMPION SCRIPTED OR NOT YOU CAN'T TAKE THAT AWAY FROM THE HISTORY BOOKS LOL THAT'S INCASE UR CHRIS BENIOT

  • @boywonder19994 doesnt matter if cena is 20 times champion look at shawn michaels just 6 times champion but wwe rates him number 1 of all times and the rock at number 4 by wwe stone cold at 3 taker at number 2

  • @puunjabirockstar

that list was the biggest crap of joke people have ever seen. that was just flat out sick.

  • Hard to tell that Austin was a heel! lol

  • @azapro911

    He a heel

  • @boywonder19994 Yep.

  • vince is looking at stone cold saying to himself, this guys gonna save my company

  • "You gonna give me a piece of equipment that works son, or do I have to whip your ass??!!" I figured if I quoted Austin too I'd get about a hundred thumbs up. Oh yeah....Classic!!

  • When the going gets tough, the Hart's get going home

CLASSIC LINE FROM THE STONE COLD GOD

  • " i got a big bunch of bananas and i can tell you where to stick each and every one of them!" hahaha. classic austin on a rampage.

  • "When the going gets tough, the Hart's get going....back home!"

  • I love when the fans cheer for stone cold he tells them to knock it off. Randy Orton should take notes on this.

  • @45Yankeeclipper Fuck yeah. I hate it when people compare Orton to Austin. Orton comes across as a guy who tries way too damn hard and might as well just tell people "I'M ANGRY!" It's all the same really.

Stone Cold on the other hand, seems like a genuine tough guy. His great improvised line with the bad mic turned what could have been a silly, awkward moment to a fucking awesome, badass moment.

  • @UnoriginalName remember we are in a different era of wrestling. Back Then WWE wasn't so scripted and 90% of the time Austin was improvising. Orton is doing the whole silent assassin and i wish they would let him talk a little more cuz Orton can talk. But I doubt it since WWE is so scripted hell they won't even let John Cena cut a improvised promo.

  • @45Yankeeclipper I know you posted like a month ago but still lol. I got to agree, I think Orton is one of few reasons, WWE can still continue. Could I see him back in the attitude era? Not really. just like stone cold couldnt really last now. Last time I saw him on a wwe program he didnt give anyone a stunner lol

  • @blackoutcider no offense, but if Austin showed up on Raw, the POP he would get would make you deaf, dumbass. Orton can only DREAM of EVER getting a pop like that. Go back and watch the POPS Austin would get, then compare them to Orton's. You know WHY WWE sucks now? It's because Vince won't allow the wrestlers to be Attitude influenced. If they were allowed to act the same way Austin, Rock and HHH did back in the day, no one would wanna leave for TNA. Pull your head out of your ass Junior.

  • @romeokid69 do your research, its called a demographic, not just vince

  • @blackoutcider you're an idiot. You have NO idea what you are talking about. Vince has changed EVERYTHING about how he does business now and THAT is why his business is failing. The ratings continue to go down. He is now at the point where this time next year, there will be 1 heaveyweight champ, 1 set of tag team champs and an Intercontinental champ. The other titles will be extinct and Smackdown will most likely be off the air. See Junior, I HAVE done my research because it's part of my job.

  • @romeokid69 dude seriously stfu

  • @romeokid69

"No offense but [...] pull your head out of your ass Junior"

    ... what?

Was that even called for? You're pushing 40. You should be more mature than that.

  • @CaptSeriouspants Yeah, like I am gonna take advice from a guy named CaptSeriouspants. Why dont you pull your hand OUT of your pants and comment on something you know more about. Like being the homo president of Justin Beiber's fan club, you sissy.

  • @romeokid69

Romeokid69 sounds like the username of a guy on a dating site who thinks you're as young as you feel. And you expect us to take you seriously despite your username when you can't do the same? Or are you avoiding the subject with dull trash talk? "Get (blank) out of your (blank)" is a tired formula for insults.

Don't worry about it, man, it's not a big deal.

  • @CaptSeriouspants Dude, I WASN'T worried about it. YOU started in on me. Had you not said anything, we would not be having this conversation right now. And don't worry. I have plenty of insults better than the ones I have typed. And again, I would not be talking about user names on here because yours makes you sound like a child molester. CaptSeriouspants? Really???

  • Comment removed

  • @romeokid69

You giving a crappy insult and saying "I have better insults than the ones I've typed" is like punching a dude in the face, it not hurting, and saying "Don't worry, I can do better". So what? You still insult like a middle-schooler. And again, it's irrelevant. Being good at insulting isn't a skill. No one cares.

  • @romeokid69

Captain Seriouspants is poking fun at the typical captain or super-hero stereotype. That is, being very serious. But "pants" is a very silly word.

Whereas you have "kid" and "69" in your name. Romeo is a staple for romantic characters. "Kid" is an obvious indication of a neverland complex, which is commonly attributed to pedophiles.

There, another straw man down. Now quit harping on usernames. It's irrelevant.

  • @romeokid69

Most importantly, your insults are tired, and you're putting up straw men to avoid manning up to your faults and turning any piece of criticism into a name-calling contest like a fucking child. If you learn anything from this discussion learn this: Grow the fuck up.

  • @CaptSeriouspants Again, I am not the one who started this......YOU ARE!!!!! I have no more time to deal with you, so I will end this. And I'M the one who's uptight? You obviously got your granny panties in quite the bunch there Captain Serious Pants!!!! And your defense of your user name is laughable at best. That being said, I will at least admit this. I should have just left well enough alone after YOU started in on me. I am usually the bigger person, but something about you irked me. Peace

  • @romeokid69

Oh shut the fuck up youtube drama have you guys got anything better to do lol

  • @boywonder19994

There's 24 hours in a day. It takes about 5 minutes to do this. If we did have better things to do we'd be too busy for anything fun. It's hard to imagine having so little down time that I couldn't do this sort of thing every once in awhile.

  • @romeokid69

I'm a big believer in the phrase "those who have the ability to change a wrong have the responsibility". That's all I meant to do. Besides, it was fun.

But I'll leave with this: I'm not the one abusing capslock and exclamation points. I'm acting very calmly compared to you. Not that it matters now. We can agree to disagree with the username thing and who's more uptight.

And props to you for admitting that.

Just out of curiosity, how was it your job to know this stuff?

  • @CaptSeriouspants You know what? I usually can make something like this fun and I took it way overboard and for that I apologize. You seem like a decent person. Believe it or not, the user name comes from my wrestling name. LOL. I grew up in Nashua, New Hampshire with a guy named Paul Levesque who of course we all know as HHH. I trained to be a wrestler same time he did. I remained a local wrestler by the name of Romeo Kid. I didn't pick it I swear. Anyway, I have a guy who has inside knowledge

  • @romeokid69

Thanks a lot. I try to assume most douchey people are pretty cool, and it usually pays off. And don't worry. I can relate. I've spent some time trolling around, pissing people off. I still do every now and then.

I've recently found a pro wrestling school. CWTC. I hope to make a name for myself, but my expectations aren't too high.

That's pretty awesome that you grew up and trained with HHH. Is he nice?

Honestly, Romeo Kid sounds pretty cool. Not my style, but I can appreciate it.

  • when the going gets tough ,the harts get going back home HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

  • Stone Cold was so hardcore and ahead of the curve in 1996-97. Nobody knew it then but we were watching the birth of the next superstar.

  • "As far as Gorilla Monsoon goes, I got a big bunch of bananas and I can tell you where to stick each and every one of them."

    LMFAOOOOOOOOOOO

  • Honestly I Always Liked Bret Hart More Than Stone Cold.

  • Poor Stu must have had a hell of a sense of humor because everyone took shots at him when they could!

  • Stone Cold is greater than Bret Hart! Bret is no doubt the bettet technical wrestler but Austin left a greater legacy. He defined an era.

  • @JMBitchboy Bret and HBK played a big part in helping Austin make that era too. It wasn't just him, but Austin is the poster child of it.

  • @Mrbaltimore2001 You could say they helped him become a better wrestler and they passed the torch on to him. But HBK and Bret Hart were the top dogs during another era: The New Generation era after Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage.

  • @Mrbaltimore2001 true, twas especially tough for bret cos i heard he never liked playing heel...and twas shawns playground cos he cud really be an ass hole as a heel and fans loved him or love him as a face

  • @el84oro actually bret love being a heel he don't like doing anti american

  • O'l Stone Cold called into company man it...

  • he didnt get boos when he cursed thats for sure

  • its hilarious how scsa talks thru the mic for 18 seconds...

  • Wow, before Austin became super popular, its kind of weird hearing boos from the crowd when he talked
