i have upgraded to a non pressurized portafilter, use a burr grinder, have tamped as hard as i possibly can, roast my own beans so they are fresh, yet my shots come out with hardly any crema and consistently pull 15 second shots. they're ok, but they are not what this video boasts. help!
I bought a machine KRUPS XP 4000 in 2006 in France. The seller told me that it's the same as XP4200 except the stainless control panel. But my machine doesn't work very well. If I change the filter like your machine, does it work better? Where and how can I buy it? Which size should I choose? How can I change it ? Thank you. ( so many questions...)
I would like to know if the diameter of the new filter Krups Vivo filter which you use is the very same as the original one coming with the machine? The same Tamper can be used? Thank you!
Thanks very much! I bought this same filter (Krups Vivo) based on your comment and removed the plastic part from the inside like your machine, effectively turning it into a non-pressurized filter and it works great.
I'm in the United States, so if anyone in the U.S. has any questions about this send me a message, I'm happy to help.
no any trick or cheat, brewing espresso need 3 things, frist and second are good grinder and fresh beans, last one is machine. i know some people say that under us$250 machine no good enough, temperature no stable, pressure........... i just want to show the truth to anyone that under us$250"include the machine and grinder", can make a good latte or capp.
hey is that the fiema grinder? I'm looking to get one from your shop but your opening hours are a bit weird.. Is the grinder any good? how does it compare to the solis 166?
no my shop, landy is the shop owner, i am a free helper to solve any problems about coffee in hong kong, of course is free for everyone.
forget 166, 2 friends of mind bought 166 and need to modify then to brew a espresso. fiema 600n can compare to 167, tasted and no much different between these 2 machines.
Are you using the pressurized portafilter that came with the XP4020 or a non-pressurized filter? I'm wondering because I too have this machine and I'm looking into the non-pressurized filter to improve the espresso.
Thank you, I'm glad to find out it's actually possible to make good espresso and steam milk on this. I wish I could buy a non-pressurized filter basket in Canada... :(
i have a krups xp4030

Hi, what is the purpose of removing the black plastic of the filter basket? is it for cleaning and is it necessary to do so?
Regarding the non pressurized filter, I am only using a cheap grinder, the Krups GVX2, is it not advised to change to non pressurized filter?
For the beans, I am just using the expresso beans from starbucks, any better recommendation? Thanks a lots

3 important things, first and second are grinder and fresh roasted coffee beans, the last one is xp4020.
if no fresh roasted beans, dont change anything, use the default basket is ok.

rumvodkaf1 3 years ago
solis 166 no fine enough for espresso, conical burr but the scale use slope plate lock, ground coffee no even.
chi0002 3 years ago
thanks, so i guess that means the fiema is a better grinder?

i mean the pressurized filter! sorry
luongdung 3 years ago
maybe yes, maybe no. it is crema enhancer.
chi0002 3 years ago
i heard that the pressurized will make a fake crema on your shot, u think thats truth?
luongdung 3 years ago
do u think that the pressurized filter basket came with the machine will make the shot brew way too fast?
luongdung 3 years ago
depend on the beans is fresh or no, and the grinder.
chi0002 3 years ago
hey did u take off the black plastic thing inside the portafilter? if yea why did u do that?
luongdung 4 years ago
use screwdriver to take off the black plastic because you will see how dirty inside when you take off the black thing.
chi0002 4 years ago
and if i buy the 49mm tamper, is it gonna be good for that filter basket?
luongdung 4 years ago
no fit, 50.25 ~ 50.5 is more suitable.
chi0002 4 years ago
where did you buy that 50.5mm tamper?
luongdung 4 years ago
hkcoffee . com
chi0002 4 years ago
