i am very happy to have knowed, after much searching, The Can. I was born in brazil, i am 17 yo and my felling is that the world is becoming like orwell has written in 1984: without memory, I am not a Marxist but in these hours I can understand why he lamented the phenomenon of the generations. Well, I still survive...
It's a pretty fearsome grove for a bunch of white kids from Germany...Damo comes on like some kind of Siberian shaman. Pity the sound isn't a bit better, but boy they blow the ass clean out of this number. Can rule!
Wow.... Whatever some people aren't ready for this.. That beat is impossible.. It's so difficult to keep in metronomic time like Jaki does. This definitely isn't the best version of halleluhwah but it's interesting to see how Jaki makes up for the layered drums in the original studio recording.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
what a gay song, they can't even spell halleluhwah right they are probably half asian and half punjabi shit go learn some english for fuck sake i hope these guys get deported
@Iamcola65 looked at your blog and really can't decide if you're being ironic or if you really the complete and utter dick you come across as. Don't think you're clever enough for irony so I;m going for the latter option.
@Iamcola65 They are a German band. Why would they glorify another country? And I don't see them glorifying or unglorifying any country, for that matter.
@Iamcola65 Just for the record, I looked at your channel. Seeing as you are such a big Foo Fighters fan, Dave Grohl never played bass for Nirvana. He was the guy at the back, on the drums, which makes him a drummer, oh yeah, and also, you're a nasty xenophobic racist little piece of shit, the kind of person your big hero Dave Grohl wouldn't piss on if they were on fire, send him a link to see what he thinks about your jew hating homophobia. Get a life you sad prick!!!
There are valid opinions, then there is disrespect.
I HATE Ke$ha, but her muisc is a valid art form, and should still be considered music. I don't go around saying "Her music is gay, and dumb" despite my utter hatred of it, many MANY other people like it, and I know some that do , and they are good people. So it must not be completely horrible. Then there are people in violent defense of the ones you dislike. *looking at cottageorgan*. That kind of retaliation is ignorant as well.
@Iamcola65 I had a look at your sad excuse for a Channel and you can't even spell 'Sabbath'. Most of the musicians you idolise would pity you for your xenophobia.
It's from a 2006 WDR broadcast. It was a 10 hour Krautrock special including lots of rare footage. The 6 DVDs are on mininova (search for "Krautrock Nacht").
circle makes kind of interesting music but can in their prime were way more potent and daring than circle has ever been
that being said, different strokes for different folks. just realize that can's definitive music comes out of the early 70s; circle's first album was 1994.
I agree that it's stupid -- Gainsbourg/Stereolab analogy might have served the purpose better, perhaps -- but not nearly so as your initial comment. best of all is the "a little bit better" bit, signifying probably that you've got the exact proportions of talent figured out mathematically
I have a lot of respect for Circle and hope to see them live one day, but you can't beat Can at their game
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
circle doesn't beat can at their own game at all. they each play their own music. Circle has free/improv albums, black AND heavy metal albums, tribal albums, stoner rock albums, punk rock albums, and general psych albums. Yet each time you hear a different album, you can say to yourself, "yeah, that's definetely Circle". Can doesn't offer that type of versatility whatsoever. Outside of Tago Mago and Ege Bamyasi, Can doesn't have any albums i would consider to be real 'gems'.

Seriously?
You're feeding the fire.
If someone doesn't like it, that's their opinion. They may be ignorant(while still thinking they're smart), but don't have to do the same.
Even is they are xenophobic, that doesn't mean you have to go off on a tangent and call them off on it.
To be honest you look just as flamed as he does.
You even said "temper, temper. Don't blow a gasket. Deep breath, count to ten and you'll feel a lot better."
But then you seemingly succumbed to anger.
