P.S. The singing is absolutely gorgeous and chilling. I don't know that song at the end. What is its title? PLEASE upload some videos just of Christmas carol singing by this extremely talented ensemble. PLEASE. Thanks.
@vaspers The group is my husband's parents and friends, called After Four. Their site is After Four dot ca, and they have a video up there. The song is 'The Holly and The Ivy'. There's also another one of their performances of that song posted on my site - go to healthy vegan recipes dot net /featured/christmas and scroll to the very bottom. They'll be very happy to know you liked their singing :)
@DoshUnScripted Yeah, head over to AfterFour dot ca if you want one of their cd's :) I'll tell them you liked their music, they'll be very happy - and yeah, Manhattan Transfer is one of their influences ;)
and maybe you should dub your videos at the beginning and "stirring" sections with that song "CALL ME".
and at the end give them a music credit... I just HATE IT when great music goes to waste
(IF ANYONE IS READING):
GROUP: After Four

SOUND: Manhattan Transfer, Shopping music of the 60s kind o sound... whatever your music taste is, YOU WON'T BE BORED ...I PROMISE YOU, I PROMISE you , I promise you!
@monodentate Thanks for watching - the 1/4 cup of oil in the recipe is much lower than most other cookie recipes, and actually I usually only use a couple of tablespoons and they turn out just as nicely. Some saturated fat in your diet is necessary for certain functions in your body so don't be afraid of it as long as you don't overdo it. The type of saturated fat in coconut oil is different than the type of saturated fat in animal products. Hope you enjoy the cookies!! :)
OMG THANKS SO MUCH HEATHER!!!!!! My family is having a cookie exchange on X-Mas and everybody has to make their own cookies but I didn't know what to make. Since I'm the only vegan in the fam, atm, i also didn't know who to ask but here comes Heather to the rescue!!!!!
@iDiggMGL haha... perfect! So glad I could help, and with good timing. I hope your family enjoys them as much as mine does - Phil's dad is addicted I think ;)
AWSOME!! they look great . i have a question though.. i have whole spelt berries do i just grind them to make spelt flour or do i need to soak them dry them then grind em? anyway these look great cant wait to try them!
@sewmommysew Thanks, I just finished eating one, so good... Now, for whole spelt berries you will need a proper grain mill. I have tried grinding whole grains in a coffee grinder (burnt out the motor) and a blender (didn't get down to flour consistency)... just doesn't work. A flour mill will work, but if you don't have one they're kind of pricey. If anyone else has tips, please post - otherwise I think you'll have to get some flour instead... But any whole grain flour will work wonderfully :)
I love you americans! I'd like to be there for christmas...maybe next year if I win the green card! :-D MERRY vegan CHRISTMAS!!!

Yay! I've been craving gingerbread cookies! I think I'll make a gingerbread house tomorrow. Do you know of any substitutes for the coconut oil?
MrsBrettBretterson 1 year ago
@MrsBrettBretterson You can use olive oil if you like - the molasses & spices will totally mask the flavor of olive oil
