  • NO WAY! I DIDN'T know this was on Grey's Anatomy

  • most things are... a lot of the good shows end too early

like arrested development and pushing daisies.

  • Oh boy!!!

    You're very old-fashioned!!!

  • Grey's Anatomy is such a musical hipster show. I've only seen it a couple times (too corny for my tastes) but they have like Chris, Regina Spektor, 1 out of 4,000,000,000renditions of Hallelujah, you get the drift. But this is a good exposure to monsieur Garneau

  • I am a big grey's fan. also a big fan of chris... I watched this episode and didnt even realize that was him in the backround! :)

  • nah, not all of tv is bad, but most of it blows

  • for an artist like Chris on a label like his, this is *exactly* what he wants and needs. usually the going rate for a sound sample on Grey's Anatomy and some of the other big named shows, etc is around $900 per clip for the rights to use the song, so for a very small clip he probably made a good go. when Desperate Housewives used Better Than Ezra's "Juicy" last season the band earned over $6,000 just from it's use in their comercial and on the DVD. not bad

    yay for Chris!

  • the background music is castle time.

  • Oups, sorry I'm stupid, I didn't realize it was in the title !!

  • that's not being stupid at all!

    I didn't realize it either.

  • Can someone tell me the title of the song ?

    Thank you very much !

    [ Sorry for my english, I'm a french-speaking ^_^ ]

  • true art can't be mainstream? i think you missed that quote completely. he said mainstream can't taint true art. difference there.

like i said, i'm not trying to sound bitter.

i truly am happy for chris' [sudden] success, really.

i just hate how when artists get more and more out there, the music itself seems to lose it's 'down to earthness'.

    that's all.

  • that's it!... that's exactly the point. I am honestly happy for him or any artist for that matter, that become successful. it is just the fact the music -personally lose it's exquisite touch... once it get more and more out there.

  • As long as he keeps that exquisite touch, I'll still love him, mainstream or not. Besides, if music hadn't that exquisite touch it wouldn't be on Grey's Anatomy soundtrack to begin with.

Anyway, at least we know this album and his next coming on January next year will keep the touch :)

  • i can't believe chris sold himself out just for that...

i'm not trying to sound bitter, it's just strange when someone gets sudden success after i've been a fan for nearly 2 years.

    i don't know, nevermind.

  • Very true, He's doing fine without stupid shows like Greys Anatomy playing his music. Mainstream for him, i believe, is a death sentence....

  • exactly.

sorry for all the posts, by the way.

  • he's not writing and recording music for it to be kept a big secret. it is the inevitable purpose.. an AUDIENCE. music that aspires to be true art cannot be tainted by mainstream. music that aspires to be mainstream cannot be true art. chris garneau is from the former place, and therefore mainstreaming him will only benefit the already saturated pop mentality of our world, while injecting his bottom line with the ability to continue writing for a living.

  • I agree. I think it's great that Chris is featured on Grey's. He DESERVES to be heared for 18 million people :)

    Love CHRIS

  • no, he doesn't deserve it. because he's too good for that show.

  • The show is not bad. Give it a break.

  • There is no way of helping todays mainstream music, can you honestly compare chris' music to what is heard on MTV or other music stations today? "Music that aspires to be true art cannot be tainted by mainstream. music that aspires to be mainstream cannot be true art." This quote that you said proves my point, so i really do not understand your point of view. That quote is right, true art cannot be mainstream, otherwise it would not be true art.

  • Even if it goes big like Grey's Anatomy big, I doubt that Chris' music will ever be like the MTV music. Grey's Anatomy features really good indie music and that doesn't necessarily means the end of an artist's music career.

  • Besides, I don't think Chris is "aspiring" to be mainstream. He's not been paid to record an album, he was on Grey's Anatomy because they wanted to share with the world a truly beautiful song originally written and created by him. The music was already there, it was true art since before.
