So when hes taking photos of the lion, what do you do? Im a new photographer and I just cant seem to get shots like that, not because the opportunity doesn't arise, its just im unsure what to do... When trying to get a photo like that, is it best to leave it in automatic as you only have 2 - 3 seconds to get the shot, or do you fiddle with the settings like crazy until you get it correct?

digital? the shutter speed should be fast, its not ready a "prepare" thing, once you see the animal your camera should be ready, click away and see later on if you got it.

i always have my camera on sports mode in case a cool animal shows up....lol
