Heirloom seeds are the only type of seed that is reproducable and untouched by our govt. Sadly, companies on the computer have jumped on this knowing the people are waking up to the fact that the FDA is poisoning us. They are selling "survival seed kits" for a large chunk of change. Here in WV I can get heirloom seed pretty cheap, if anyones interested I would be more than happy to help you get s varity of heirloom seeds. I dont want to make a profit, just help ppl get away from govt poison..
I live in Northern Nevada and the majority of the time it's really cold. Which Vegetables do you recommend for me? Also are blueberries hybrids I don't see them in your catalog? =)
Just found Baker creek about 6 months ago and I went nuts on their catalog. One of my favorites is the Reise Tomato, Im mid way through an indoor grow in January with 6 varieties of tomato, and 7 varieties of peppers, plus the stevia, chenopodium, and a bunch of amaranthus. I love those people. Thanks for spreading the goodness!!
One more question...did you like the strawberry spinach? I think we'll add the malabar spinach also. The humidity in Lousiana is harsh on some plants and I really like spinach but, like cilantro, it can't handle our weather. Thanks for the info.
I actually had this place bookmarked for next spring's seed order. I already had my seeds when I heard about this place a couple months ago. They have an amazing selection of heirloom seeds that I want to try. :)
Great video...I was actually thinking of driving over to that store to bye my seeds, but I opted to order online from Bountiful Gardens. Now I want to go check that place out
maybe not this year but definately next year ill plant some kind of melon plants. i love melons and it would be so cool to grow my own but i think i need to get a little more of a green thumb before i take on something like that. lol =P
John, I'm actually finding myself checking out your You Tube site before checking my email in the morning! Please keep up the great videos. You've opened up my eyes to all new vegetables. Thx.
This is our fourth year purchasing seeds from Baker Creek. The seeds are great. Each year we learn to save more of our seeds for the following year, but Baker Creek is always offering something new to try. Also, their service is fantastic.
You have to be the most enthusiatic person I have ever seen when it comes to growing food. Keep up the good work. I'm really enjoying the field trips. I get to see places I have never been. Thanks for sharing.
just got their catalog in the mail, its the best. plan on picking up a bunch of stuff. that dragons egg looks good but that midget watermelon has a bunch of bad reviews on the site.
Baker Creek is the BEST! I order my seeds there............ they mail there seeds out fast also. Keep up the good work!!!!!

Strawberry spinach tastes similiar to lambsquarters. Yes, I like them. In your area the malabar should do great. I like it best of all.

We grow their seeds as well. How was the culandro? Cilantro always bolts here and we need it for our salsa. Thanks for the inspiration.
amyburns1999 1 year ago
Culantro is from the tropics. It should do fine there.

Baker Creek is solid. You have to give their Rocky Top Lettuce Mix a go. It is awesome and the best mix i've ever tried.

I probably like Bountiful Gardens "better" than Baker Creek. They are a non-profit dedicated to ending world hunger. Maybe I will visit there soon :)
