the environmental sounds is just too much in mw3. towards the end of every game that damn stupid adrenaline music comes on, especially SnD. i just wish they had the same sound options on black ops. where you can lower down the game music so you can focus in on the footsteps.

@Tommybotham Depends on the headset. If it's Turtle Beach XLCs, you're wasting your cash. They're uncomfortable and break easily.

I'm guessing you are looking at Turtle Beach X12s? Yes, that's a nice headset, well worth £40.

@booman61 I know about the XLCs. Terrible headset. Uncomfortable because your ear basically just holds the earphone up. Not a good design in the slightest. Also one day I was just playing MW3 and I got done so I put them on my desk. They ended up falling like 2 feet to the floor and one of the earpieces broke off. So dissapointing. I ended up getting the Tritton AX 180s. Great headset. So comfortable. Hard to find a good balance between Game Vol. and Voice Vol. when playing with friends though.

Nice a nice design and amazing sound but something doesn't feel right, I can't really hear footsteps that loud when all is going around and wondering should I keep the X12's or trade them in for X31's? @MRH34DS40T98 I have PX5s and I find it difficult to pick out footsteps clearly too. It's not because the headsets aren't good enough, it's because its Modern Warfare 3. Javelins launching, Stealth Bombers overhead, endless BANG sounds from Flash/Stun spam, "We've taken the lead!", "Securing B!", "UAV Recon standing by!", "B SECURE!"...

There's just too much noise in the game. They've made it difficult to pinpoint the sound you want to hear. Try COD4, you'll have a field day with footsteps.

There seems to be way less of that announcer noise and under sounds in MW2 and black ops, then again I haven't tried black ops with my X12's and MW2 a little, noticed a amazing change in MW2.
