This game is not very realistic at all. It's the most aggravating thing in the world when you set up a point perfectly but when the time comes to hit an easy put away volley or overhead it does not allow you to direct it. It usually ends up forcing you to hit right back to the computer when in real life you could easily smash it away.
What bothers me about the Wii motion plus with this game...and I don't know if it's because I'd been using it without for so long, but when I try to backswing(not backhand swing, but pulling back to swing), it thinks I'm swinging! Like there's no time to go gently back and forth, cause things get pretty fast when you play and need to go back and forth quickly, but it thinks you're swinging when you're pulling back to shoot, anyone know what to do about this?
yes, i learned a little bit about timing my shot and even some shot types ( like topspin, before i couldnt do a topspin very well, but now i can do it much better)
I have been playing this game for a week and I am done with it! It is total CRAP! Just as in this video the guy often stands for a backhand when you need a forehand! You will lose every game against a computer opponent and you will both want to smash the control when you play a friend!
There one problem with all these presentation videos... they are just showing, that Wii Motion + actually does not work at all. They are trying to present 1:1 experience. But for exemple look at the ver ybeggining of the video. Ok the twisting is good. But he is pointing his controlled down. The character on screen is pointing up. What the **** is that? 1:1 experience?
It would be better if they made the character move better based on which swing you are trying to do. As the vid shows he had a hard time dictacting if he wanted a forehand or backhand
If it was true 1.1 then you should be able to hold the racket in the position to play a simple forehand shot....But this thing really has a mind of its own, even when you have your arm totally extended to the right (right hand) the player will still try to hit a backhand .Why the hell does it do this???? in all this is a nice looking game for the wii BUT after 10 mins you will find yourself frustrated with the flawed control system and the terrible shot selection.
Well WM+ is of course able to do 1:1 Motion Tracking but EA decided to programm it to make it a little bit easier to play. The Developers of Red Steel 2 said that too. They want the Player to have a good playing Experience from the Start and not after a year of practice. I understand it but it would be lovely if you could switch it to real 1:1.
thats not 1:1 and if you hit the balls like that in real life you wouldn't hit the ball over the net. you should trun your body to do the backhand otherwise why play with motion control if you will not hit like in real life.
well i watch a lot of tennis and played a little but its was hard on my body starting so late so i stopped. and you can't hit a volley like that. you have to extend your arm way more and higher. now that i look at it again it looks closer to a real tennis swing but so many people just use wrist motion.
Remember to lock the wii motion plus to the wii remote otherwise it will keep on falling off. There isn't a delay on my Ea Sports Grand Slam Tennis Game.Mine is perfect+I preordered it so maybe I got one of the first copies.Nice Vid.How old r u
Hey Chris, cool video. You speak really clear and the explanation is good too. But I'm still battling against this game... How do you get the correct position of the character? I've seen the video of that guy from EA that shows how the character turns its body, but I try and try and nothing... When I want to hit from rigth to left (sorry, I don't know the english word for that) it hits it from left to right, the same in the opossite situation.. really frustrating...
I have this problem im no good at aiming either and it dosent mirror 1 to 1 tho its still great i can never control my stance like that EA man in the demonstartion so it like playing without motion pluc cry some one help
I've got a little better at this game... But the problem of the character's position still remains. Anyway, i can't play without the WM+ anymore =P I got really used to it.
No it's not, but you get MUCH more control over shot placement and it's more rewarding in the long run. Just be prepared for a fairly significant learning curve, part of which will be from un-learning Wii Sports Tennis.

Looks wank, the character is doing backhands when the guy is doing forehands.

@Flappyization
Maybe that's how EA programmed the game.

Can I play this game, when i'm not using nunchuk? Like in wii sports tennis?
gun4as 2 years ago
Yes, you can use just the Wii Remote (the first controller configuration I showed in the video) which is the more basic one.
FirstCuts 2 years ago
yea you can its just more basic and your shots won't be as accurate like using the wii motion plus
SportsFreak217 2 years ago
@gun4as Nunchuk gives you more control and is better option if u can predict other players movements.

Got the game and its great once you get into it yeah great review

so wait, with the numbchucks do you still have the wii motion plus on it? By the way good review

Yes. The nunchuck piggy-backs into the Motion Plus adapter.
