  • I love Kate Bush. But she is quite quite mad...!

  • Did my first stop-motion animation using this song. Still good after all these years.

  • Kate rocks

  • where is this woman???? we need her!!

  • i was in this video

    really eh?

  • A forgotten classic

  • So very good.

  • I think this just might be my alltime favorite of Kate's vids.. this or maybe sensual world. I truly love them both!

  • She` s brilliant: then and now. Best voice, songs and lyrics at all.

    I love her.

  • Kate bush; one of the few women I would go straight for

  • the sexiest voice i've ever heard

  • Such an awesome song! Its so much awesome-ness in one song... empowering, strong, beautiful, etc!

  • i totall agree with you smoott69. i was stationed in england in the early 70's when i learned of KB. i have loved her music and style every since. she was ahead of her time when it came to videos. michael is only 2nd to her in creativity. and her voice is so interesting, strange, clean, and operatic at the same time. she will always be awesome. i wish she created an american hit to show the pop stars what entertainment and visual art is really about.

  • kate bush fucking awsome

  • I love that jump of her's at 3:02.

  • GENIUS!!

Truly a one in a billion talent.

  • i just listend to wuthering heights and then this, it really shows how her voice has grown, like theres such a huge difference. i always wondered how wuthering heights sounded if she sang like this. i love her 70's and 80's stuff thoug, who couldnt? makes me sad being a 16yrold american knowing that there will never be anyone as genious as she. i suppose its up to me to get into the music industry and remind them what music used to be. i hate what it has turned into.

  • @TheStickynoodle Actually, Kate DID record a new vocal track for Wuthering Heights. It was included on her "This Woman's Work" box set. And is great!

  • @vineviz Actually, I'd forgotten that this "new vocals" version also appeared on "The Whole Story" greatest hits album. That would be easier to find, if you wanted to hear it.

  • @TheStickynoodle Then, may your dreams hold firm and true in the stormy seas of media banality. May you never grow old and jaded through disillusionment and disappointment. May your aim be true and may you find many a like mind to strenghthen your voice. In other words, best wishes, good luck. : )

  • @LoriCiani thank you soo much!!!

  • Happy Birthday Kate!!! I am an American and cannot understand why this woman is not more of a national treasure in the UK...

  • luckily placebo didn't cover this song so we don't have to deal with american emo kids commenting on it

  • @kanga888 good one

  • @kanga888

hey whats wrong with emos cause i dont think i have a problem

  • @kanga888 great comment!

  • Sigh. Got a kiss of her once, after a gig in 1979. And this is on very regular rotation round these parts.

  • @sharmilka I consider both Lady GaGa and Kate Bush as amazing artists for their contexts, but this song (and Album aswell) is amazing. If Only so many other artists could achieve what she did.

  • @rhabarbermarmalade Gaga is banal uninspired tripe.

  • @pec104 hi, this thread is about kate bush, thanks

  • The Hounds Of Love is one of the best albums ever made...

  • kate bush is my idol oh my god she is so creative godddddd!

  • I love both Kate and Tori. They are each their own obviously, but they each are so far outside the box when it comes to tying them down to a genre, which is what I love about them,

  • Tori is very talented, but clearly influenced by Kate. Tori is a bit younger after all.

No one is quite like Kate. Cant imagine life without her amazing music.

  • Is KB to British like what Tori Amos is to Americans?

  • @yuckyoo Tori Amos ripped off Kate Bush as much as she could. She didn't succeed.

  • I was at this video shoot too, as I was in the fan club! Bumped into Kate before the end of the shoot, and she had a head-ache, so maybe that lead to the throwing up?! Also met the wonderful Stewart Avon Arnold (one of Kates dancers). Busy but fun day at Elstree studios.

I remember that who-ever was holding the giraffes couldn't keep them straight (in the direction they were supposed to be) so they kept doing re-takes.

  • 17 dislikes? Why? This song is EPIC!

  • fantastic

  • anyone know why this song is no longer on The hounds of love? whats with the giraffe's at the end?

  • anyone know why this song is no longer on The houds of love? whats with the giraffe's at the end?

  • Magnificent!!

Oh Kate, I hope you know how much love there is for you in this world.

    xx BM

  • What a vocal range. What a face. What an arrangement. What an uncompromising aesthetic sensibility. What femininity. What magnetism of soul.

In a perfect world, she'd have been my personal goddess, and the mother of my children.

  • Kate Bush is the female David Bowie! Kate is so damn hot and sensual! // Christoffer

  • 3:05 it's a Kate Bush dance party!!!!!

  • 4:02 YEAAA!!! The Brazilian flag appeared =D

  • those wailing scream vocals i just heard now for the first time, caused tears to burst from my eyes

  • I am an American Indian and I really do enjoy her music! Kate is really a true artist and STILL one great looking woman! I am waiting for her new album next month! For me it was first seeing her "Love and Anger" video and I was hooked since! My favorites so far is a three way tie between, "Love and Anger", The Man With The Child In His Eyss", and "The Big Sky"!

  • Yeah, Kate drank a bit to much before it.

    One can see this, right?

  • Whats amazing to me is how much I listened to her, I never saw a single video or performance over all those years. Was it my fault? Was this stuff available easy? I have all the vinyl. But man, these videos are *nooothing* like what I had going around inside my head.

  • I was a 14 y/o metal head long hair punk who became an instant KB junkie around 82. I spent the next several years feeling like a rejected orphan of hers. No one I knew listened to her. She never toured the states (that I was aware of at the time). Like so many things in life, around the 90s, I stopped. Sad. Well, the future is here. I was amazed to find her so prevalent again. Let them have their mainstream. We have her.

  • @MobileSpies Great post and the same with me. I have always been a bit diverse in my musical tastes, but I too was a metalhead back in the 80's who also loved listening to Kate Bush. I'd be listening to Wendy O. Williams and then put on some Kate Bush if the mood suited me, lol. People thought I was crazy but it seems I wasn't alone, great to hear another out there who appreciated art. Another of my faves was Laurie Anderson. I'd listen to her alongside Doro, Kiss, GnR, Judas Priest, etc.

  • I love this! :D

  • Only Kate Bush can sing these songs because only the greatest stars can shine!

  • 2:41 WTF?! =b IS THAT SUPRMAN O_O OMG!!!!

  • Wow, envy all those Homegrounders who took part in this video! Lucky basterds!

I'd quit my kindergarten just to participate in it ! But I couldn't read yet : (

  • Dr.Peeperstein loves Kate but he wishes this video had MORE MORE MORE!!!!!!!!!

  • all hail to kate bush awsome

  • Maybe they already have and I am not aware but how cool would a Tori Amos/ Kate Bush piece of work be? Have loved Kate Bush for 25 years and always will.

  • Big Sound - Big Fun! OK, it's cheesy & campy, but I wish I had been invited. So much of Kate's material is bittersweet & poignant, elegant & somewhat sophisticated. She pulls, prods & pokes multidirectionally. I love her for that. Here, it's boom boom cha cha infectious foot tapping booty grooving party time. Hell yeah!

  • And Killing Joke's Youth Martin on Bass.... no wonder it sounds so fuckin' wonderfully, joyfully malevolent!

  • 17 people never really understood her.

  • @Offshade Yep,they never really TRIED. :)

  • She always reminded me a bit of Mary Steenburgen. ♥ Kate.

  • @amydafig me too eh?

  • @amydafig I totally agree!

  • @amydafig I totally agree!

  • @amydafig Yea you know ... me too , I always thought they looked a like.

  • @amydafig lol I always thought so too!

  • No.... Gaga sounds like Kate!!

  • I love when she smiles, she has alook of wonderment and innocense.

  • @hharlequina (groan)

  • @hharlequina You realize this album came out in 1985... One would think that Gaga sounds like Kate. ...strike that .. Gaga wishes she sounded like Kate.

  • @TheD2JBug where do you come up with any comparison of gaga and Kate Bush. Grow up already. Gaga sucks. there is absolutly no none whatsoever comparison.

  • @Smoott69 That was kinda my point. People saying this sounds like Gaga fail to realize this album is 25 years old. so if the comparasion is to be made it's Gaga sounds like Kate .. and I added, she *wishes* she sounded like Kate , because , lets be honest here , Kate wipes the floor witg Gaga,

  • @TheD2JBug ok sorry my bad. please forgive me. i am so sick of the gaga fruitloops that keep comparing gagag to Kate. just about every Kate Bush video has some lame ass in there commenting about gaga. I am filming a bush gaga rant video now. check out my channel in about an hour. if your truly a bush fan you will love it. (warning there will be and i promise will be bad words.)

  • @Smoott69 My first CD ever purchased was 'This Woman's Work' CD single from 1989. Been a fan ever since.

  • @Smoott69 It's really silly, cause that Gaga (calling her 'lady' makes me laugh) is the current, mainstream icon of pop, so everyone who gets close to a microphone is imediately compared to her.

And Kate- can we really COMPARE her to anyone? There was no katebush before her and still I can't see anyone like her now, but I wish there was another KB... Gaga and popstars is all fun-colourful but disposable. Great, but Kate is like art, her songs are poetry and her videos are drama-plays.

    cheers

  • @Sharmilka no one compares to Kate

  • @Sharmilka Well said Smoott69 :)

  • @Sharmilka I am so sick of reading this fucking Gaga-name everywhere. If she were such a giant artist why is it necessary to mention her on every other artist's video? Kate Bush, Queen, David Bowie just to mention a few artists of the past were HUGELY talented artists and musicians. Gaga is just a boring little attention whore who is just copying everything which was invented by those artists long time before. Her fans can write their stupid comments on HER music clips.

  • @Sharmilka You are so right...

  • Kate ist eine klasse Frau....auch dieses Musikstück ist eines meiner Lieblingslieder.

  • Pilots from the world, come together (Piloten der ganzen Welt, vereinigt euch) Kate, I love you realy

  • Damn those binoculurs are big!

  • oh sweet kate!

  • One of the few videos that KB actually looks happy. Nice to see.

  • Ich mag zwar Kate Bush, aber dieses Lied mag ich nicht

  • @MrParapsychologe.Warum magst du dieses Lied nicht?

  • @Katefanforever They used to have a better voice

  • If Kate isn't in the RocknRoll Hall of Fame the world has real MAJOR problems

    Such an amazing woman

  • Didn't she say she was, "drunk off her ass," while she recorded this? Cause how can you do 1:30 while sober...

I'm not hating, I love this.

  • wide eyes... stupid smile... big shivers...

  • You want my reply

    What was the question

  • Kate Bush has it all.

Her gift with music almost magical.

She deserves her place amongst the pantheon of the greatest musicians ever known to mankind.

  • If you pause at 1:27 she looks so badass.

Oh wait... she's amazing throughout the entire video.

  • I just spent 4 min 27 sec dancing around the house like a dork ;) ..... Love this...

  • i was in this video..... really!!!!

it was a whole bunch of fun

but kate threw up backstage so that is why the vid is shorter then the song.

  • @goodtimetone I LOVE the way she is dancing in this, it is SO cute. She's so fun, it's hard to imagine she was sick for this. Or maybe it was the lights and the foil jumpsuit, etc. Thanks for sharing your experience.

  • @goodtimetone Wow why'd she throw up!?

  • @jemimap8 She was very exhausted. 12h of work or so? Poor Kate...

  • She's from Bexleyheath, Kent, where I live.

Wish I could bump into her, literally!

  • @eggflipsupreme

She don't live there now, but the farm is still there at East Wickham open space, jsut north of Welling, and above the hill where those riots were.

She lived in Court Road Eltham, I once peeped over her fence. That's not a euphamism, unfortunately.

  • if ever the word captivating meant anything, this was why.................

  • "You want my reply? What was the question, yeah?I was looking at the Big Sky."

  • I love the over the top production-- and those vocal improvisations!

  • My favourite utterly bonkers music video this side of Michael Jackson!

  • what a blast from the 80s i loved every song by Kate and will always

  • amazing!!

  • love you kate your the best

  • the best in the world

  • Tal-ent 1. Natural endowment or ability of a superior quality..yep, that's Kate.

    Bless her..

  • Love Kate and always have done form her very first record. Nice to see the video with the proper single mix of the track, I've got it on an old VHS video but for some reason it has the album version instead.

  • pause for the jet!

  • the big sky? my fucking sky tv signal is fucked right now, ill big sky you

  • what a gorgeous talented woman

  • and she was just kate bush, not lady this or bionic woman that. understated brilliance, but brilliance none the less. you never feel you've seen all her charms like you do with al lot of other imitators.

  • Doesn't she just look amazing! I just love how she dances! That suit looks just amazing on her! X

  • @MissNeverForEver.Anyway,all outfits suit her,don't they?

  • @Katefanforever Haha, yes, of course!

  • Gawd, I'm in love again with Kate. Genius everywhere in this song; the music, lyrics, choerography and the imaging. All so much better than the speedfreak editing, groin grinding, excuse for current rock videos. A little imagination - please?

  • so good...

  • My generation embarrasses me, Kate Bush is my favorite singer, a true genius, and I don't have with whom to share this because people my age are there listening to their commercial garbage.

  • This song always puts me in a good mood. Kate is so adorable and she looks like she's having so much fun :D

  • Dont forget these where early music videos so you cant compare it big buget videos of today.

  • Wow, I love seeing her smile. Haha.

  • For someone so amazing with vocals and lyrics, she has the worst videos I think I've ever seen. Such a disappointment. I do love her though!

  • @jeanniemarie76

I guess you haven't seen the Cloudbusting video!

  • @zack11993 I have. :)

  • @jeanniemarie76 actually i think that her 80's music videos really complete the whole persona for me, she directed most of these videos, i do think that if it weren't for these she wouldn't be this much of an icon today.

  • @jeanniemarie76 It's all charisma and confidence. If you get sucked in by those two things, her videos become very entertaining. If you just come for cheese, you'll find cheese.

  • @jeanniemarie76 I'm not sure, but I think she had to pay for her own videos. I think she financed most of her own music, but album sales helped! Don't mark my words though, I just seem to remember this from an interview she did.

  • She is one of Britain's finest imports to the U.S.! Masterful singer and writer. With the rebirth of the 80's here in the U.S. I expect her music to find its way back into the hearts of my countrymen. She is with question one of the best female singers in the world!

  • damn so this is where bjork got it

  • i was in this vid

    i had a great time.

    true

    really!!!

  • idk if you'll believe this but she was 18 when she did this

  • @jbfan124cp nope she was in her 20,s

    she was born in 1958

  • this official video dehonests this song so bad. at least we can still blame it on 80's

  • Kate has been my all time favorite female artist ever since I first saw Wuthering Heights video as an18y/o . An amazing, beautiful and talented individual. I have all her albums, my only regret so far I have never seen her in concert......I really hope I get the chance one day...........

  • Bush's vocals contains elements of British, Anglo-Irish and most prominently (southern) English accents

  • September 1982 saw the release of The Dreaming, the first album Bush produced entirely by herself.

  • Dame Kate!

  • @thecolourofspring No... I'd feel weird about wanting to shag 'er.

  • Happy 25th Anniversary to one of the best albums ever. Love this song...and its sequel, "Love and Anger."

  • Does anyone else wish Kate Bush was their mum?

  • @thecolourofspring No... I'd feel weird about wanting to shag 'er.

  • @thecolourofspring I do....

  • @thecolourofspring Oh God, me too! That would be amazing :)

  • Another brilliantly constructed song from the ultimate artist. Blood warming progressive beat- love it

  • 80s music can't get any better than this. ♥ Kate Bush

  • Her music has been with me through most of my life , she keeps me going , gives me somewhere to go in my head and heart . The greatest !

  • woohoo! Another great Kate classic! Great times for me:) Thank you for posting another gem:)

  • Bless her heart...love ya Kate..

  • you never understood me and you never really tried...

  • Time to a radio - Anch'io cerco un Grande Cielo sotto il quale vedere volare solo uccelli e più in basso farfalle.

Anch'io noto che nessuno mi capisce davvero e che manco ci provano

  • This stuff was way ahead of its time.

And, even nearly 25 years later, it still is. No one has ever come close.

    Worship her!

  • One of my favorite song !

  • such a cool video

  • This is a brilliant song because it taps into and celebrates the British obsession with the weather, which is a bit of a national past time. Listen to the extended mix of this song which is amazing!

  • Genius, if you love kate bush, on my channel there is a video of her top 40 songs.

  • Might be time for some propers? Lady Catherine? Dame Catherine???

  • @wychwood7 hmm yes it is a big wonder why she does not have a UK honours ! yet so many people who have done nothing do.

  • This is about as busy and happy video as I have seen.

"What was the question"?... -- too good.

  • Yep goto admit her work is still way out there...she is brill sexy

  • Another marvelous work of the genius of this wonderful womaan.

  • @bruckner4444 I agree, this will always be my favourite video from her :)

  • I love the pumping bass too. Joyous Kate.

  • Yes, and it's Youth from Killing Joke on the bass here.

  • I love her videos. Comically large binoculars FTW!

  • Absolutely Fantastic Kate.

    Nobody today comes close.

  • Pause for a jet!

  • 1:30 and 3:50 my faves :)

  • That's Superman at 2.44! That just goes to show how confidently brilliant Kate Bush is. She allowed Superman and dancers (Army Dreamers?) to pull off the most funky moves in such a fun track on a masterpiece of an album that conveys many different moods. Oh yes and there are giraffes in the background in last 30 seconds- of course there are. It's Kate Bush. What an amazing song/video/album/career. Absolute genius.
