Agreed, it's a pretty big bummer that after looking at no less than 10 similar stove videos with the same claim, none have had a functional gassifier.
Listen up, if it flat-out burns the wood then it's a wood stove. If the wood just sits there and smoulders while fire comes from some other part... it may be a wood gassifier!
This is such a simple concept that is clearly indicated in the name, yet people can't seem to tell the diference. Worse yet, they have to make a video of it!
And yet I still get a thumbs down? This is nothing more then a mini wood stove. Gasification comes from baking the fuel out of the wood, turning it into a burnable gas that can be used like natural gas to run engines, gas stoves, hot water heaters, dryers, and just about anything that runs on petroleum products. Strange, even the word Gasification comes up as misspelled with no offer to a correct spelling. lol, what a world, what a world...
Thanks for the video and the SA commentary! I haven't heard lakke for a while!! Takes me back, I grew up in Germiston and currently active with appropriate technology, I too have been experimenting with tlud gasifiers and water boilers, well done! Have you made and in roads with the mass use of this maybe in cosmo city or any camping areas? David Osborne Troon Scotland
Have you tried using bricquettes as fuel? They are not hard to make and you dont need wood mixed in them to get a good flame. Grasses leaves and other materials will work. A little dry grass on top will start the flame faster. Do a search on youtube and watch the videos. They all are of interest for fuel for home heating and other cool stuff. I'm in southern part of USA.
Neil , nice stove. It has a good , reliable design, and it looks like it is easy to make. I bet it provides good warmth on cold evenings. Will it still burn if it has the lid on it?
Another invention stolen from the Africans by the white man.

I hope those palates were not treated wood. Doesn't look like it, but that would not be nice to cook with.

Fascinating idea youve come up with. The preheating with gel is something new for me. Thanks for the post.

HI There, no it wont burn with the lid on since it needs the flow of air to keep it going.
It is indeed very easy to build: Two sizes tins, two drillbits and a drill, ans a pair of thinmetal snippers.
