@patrickJMT Was saying if Knxd4 and Bxd7, knight can fork queen and king on e2 (I typo'd the f) but black still loses because the bishop can take the rook on c8 the knight on c1 is trapped and white is up material. I was just saying if black was to take at d4 with his knight white still wins
when c5 was moved in the opening why not white moved a3 moving bishop to d2 can simply lose the center d pawn then why black did not capture?please explain
This is a very good video and I wish to see more from you =). Although I wish you could try to use algebraic notation for every move. Once again, good vid =).
yes Alekhine moved the knight twice in the opening -- but forced Nimzovitsch to do the same with his bishop, and white forces the trade of bad bishop for good bishop while getting his knight to a great square. very good play by white, and in retrospect c5 by black was innacurate.
thanks for the video. i really enjoyed your analysis, and seeing white beat the french defense is always a plus :p looking forward to more vids.
@lucienePS391 These are very famous games in the history of Chess. He's replaying the game and showing us how it was played and why each move was made.
Holy shit. I play a damn load of chess and saw this on my featured page. Then I scrolled over and saw that it was uploaded by the same guy whose math videos I used to watch for Calc. This is great. We should play chess one day. And it's pronounced "Al-yek-kin"
I love the math videos, but I might even like these more! Can we get a video where it perhaps goes to the bitter end? Or maybe a video where the underdog pulls something out toward the end (if games like those exist).
at 11:11 why couldn't white push the a pawn one square forward trapping the bishop?
SHAHENx812 3 months ago
at 22:20 following Knxd4 BxD7 Knf2+ Kf1 Knxc1Bxc8 and black loses, The queen trade ends up losing black a rook for a pawn. Great video though

@jaklarnurich i have so many book written in old notation : ) I hate it

21:29 Nd2 looks completely fine to me, the knight is still pinned to the queen, so it can't take the pawn.

I don't think I bitched. I thought my comment was both complimentary (great video) and constructive.

Great video. Try to limit your use of the word 'again.' It becomes a crutch. Listen to it again and count the number of times you said it.

@MrDannyg77 Count the number of times he uses the word 'again'? You can't be serious

maybe a little better for black was 5...cxd4 before moving the kingside knight, then white still has Nb5, but black can avoid the bishop trade.

very nice and at 16:03 he was thinking ahead and knew he was going to have to defend that knight for the game so he was going to have to double up.

Weird, I just watched a 24 min chess video but only ever play 1 min chess. There's something off about that. Nice video though :)
