  • at 11:11 why couldn't white push the a pawn one square forward trapping the bishop?

  • at 22:20 following Knxd4 BxD7 Knf2+ Kf1 Knxc1Bxc8 and black loses, The queen trade ends up losing black a rook for a pawn. Great video though

  • @greatcornholio pretty sure bd7 is what i say is the best. not sure what you are pointing out

  • @patrickJMT Was saying if Knxd4 and Bxd7, knight can fork queen and king on e2 (I typo'd the f) but black still loses because the bishop can take the rook on c8 the knight on c1 is trapped and white is up material. I was just saying if black was to take at d4 with his knight white still wins

  • @greatcornholio Nxc6 Then.

  • when c5 was moved in the opening why not white moved a3 moving bishop to d2 can simply lose the center d pawn then why black did not capture?please explain

  • zugzwang means forced move in german. fyi

  • comments like "rook to bishop one" are hilarious :-D nice one ;-)

  • @jaklarnurich i have so many book written in old notation : ) I hate it

  • 21:29 Nd2 looks completely fine to me, the knight is still pinned to the queen, so it can't take the pawn.

  • ALEHIN - the best player over time !!!!

  • @Nomadaciduzzu he was pretty good, that is for sure!

  • You keep saying "Bishop" when some pieces are moved lol.

  • thanks for the videos, great time passer :)

  • @thesnowman123456 thanks! i may make more one day

  • This is a very good video and I wish to see more from you =). Although I wish you could try to use algebraic notation for every move. Once again, good vid =).

  • I don't think I bitched. I thought my comment was both complimentary (great video) and constructive.

  • Great video. Try to limit your use of the word 'again.' It becomes a crutch. Listen to it again and count the number of times you said it.

  • @MrDannyg77 Count the number of times he uses the word 'again'? You can't be serious

  • @stormvejr87 on the internet, everyone is a critic!! only bitch, never produce anything themselves : )

  • you do not only math but chess!! YOUR MY HERO!!!!one111(sort off) lol

  • maybe a little better for black was 5...cxd4 before moving the kingside knight, then white still has Nb5, but black can avoid the bishop trade.

  • yes Alekhine moved the knight twice in the opening -- but forced Nimzovitsch to do the same with his bishop, and white forces the trade of bad bishop for good bishop while getting his knight to a great square. very good play by white, and in retrospect c5 by black was innacurate.

thanks for the video. i really enjoyed your analysis, and seeing white beat the french defense is always a plus :p looking forward to more vids.

  • forgot white knight was there

  • I'd love to see more chess videos from you!

  • This video just inspired me to play more chess.

  • great!

  • dude it isnt fair, the one who begins always has an advantage!

  • maybe in practice, but most GM's think that chess is a first person draw

  • very nice and at 16:03 he was thinking ahead and knew he was going to have to defend that knight for the game so he was going to have to double up.

  • Weird, I just watched a 24 min chess video but only ever play 1 min chess. There's something off about that. Nice video though :)

  • How do you find these?

  • @lucienePS391 These are very famous games in the history of Chess. He's replaying the game and showing us how it was played and why each move was made.

  • five *

  • dude i loved this. it was kinda relaxing to just watch that o_o

  • ok ... why wont the knight on C3 goes to

B4 .. yea there will be queen exchange but knight now can put presure on the B2 ..

  • I thought you only did math videos. But this is brilliant!

  • lol funny. i´m from germany. i didn´t knew that there is a term in chess which actually is a german word (zugzwang :D )

    great vid want more

  • Great a new chess video, I know I'm gonna have a good time :)

  • Holy shit. I play a damn load of chess and saw this on my featured page. Then I scrolled over and saw that it was uploaded by the same guy whose math videos I used to watch for Calc. This is great. We should play chess one day. And it's pronounced "Al-yek-kin"

  • very cool game! please keep doing chess commentaries!

  • I love the math videos, but I might even like these more! Can we get a video where it perhaps goes to the bitter end? Or maybe a video where the underdog pulls something out toward the end (if games like those exist).

  • i love your analysis of the game! keep it up!! really gives the perspectives of both sides

  • I'd hate to repeat myself yet again, but please continue to make chess videos! Your interpretations of the games are fricken awesome!

  • more please. grate vids

  • More chess videos, these are awesome!

  • zugzwang! great game and thanks for the post
