The EU project (not only the Euro) is in italian hands. Italy is a huge EU net payer; they actually pay to Brussels almost as much as France (around 5 net billion euros a year). But they are being treated like shit. Once italians acknowledge how much the EU costs them (believe me, most italian citizens ignore it because of the blindly pro-EU media) and compare it with the sacrifices imposed, they will become a eurosketical nation.
There's decades of papers on the support of turning Europe into a 1-government state with it's leaders installed my special interests groups... Italy(Rockefeller) and Greece(GoldmanSachs), many more to follow.
