  • very nice video. I love the progression

  • What is so special about a recario?? was there just very few made

  • @3rd4thgenFbody the car had a custom interior and paintjob and it handled really well

  • Thanks for the video. I had one back in the day and loved it. I still have one of the pendants that mounted on the side with the anniversary logo.

  • my dads got one that thing is way rock solid around the georgia twistys i think he wants 5 or 6 grand tryin to get up some dough that thing is alot more fun then the blue 84 ws6 i had

  • nice im restoreing mine now ive had it sence it was almost new but had to start restore do to floor boards. But she will rise agin

  • very cool. but the decals. so sad... you need to buy the kit and get them back!

  • @pirateben09 oh I did buy the decals but the paint job was crappy so we have to have it repainted again before I put the decals on

  • That wasOut Standing!!! I miss my 84 Firebird.....

  • I have one of the 15th Anniversary Editions here in Ireland, It to needs a paint job.

  • i have one of these as a drag car....these trans ams are beautiful cars and im trying to save up for a 1998-02 model

  • good job, it looks beauitful. ive always wanted a firebird and or trans am

  • Awesome job!

  • my father has an identical car, but he says it's too much white and he wants to trade the white 16" wheels for the gray alloy 15's. I love the car so much, it's just gorgeous. And although they were, in my opinion, a little underpowered at the time, I haven't met a curve yet that the WS8 suspension can't straighten out :) Nice car, great job!

  • i wish i had the 15th anniversary recaro seats in my 84 t/a. Nice ride.

  • I bought some seats for this restore out of a 2000 Camaro and still have the Recaros in my horse barn. They need new bottom frames and I don't think I'll be using them. If you want to make me an offer privately I'll consider selling them to you.

  • yea thats what I was wondering why not the Trans Am its an american muscle, I have a 1984Firebird SE. I dont know nothing about the history behind the SE but my car is a 5 speed, 2.8 but thinking really hard about puting in other engine. restore to a trans am puting the vents on the fenders and having PMD seats.

  • well done. now it just need the spesial decor kit in blue to finich the job.i am from norway, and i own a 15 anniversary transam to :-)

  • Yeah I have the kit and went ahead and put the firebird on it, but I don't like the imperfections in the paint job, so I'm going to have that re-done and then put the rest of the graphics back on :-) Since this video I'm waiting on another transmission. Seems like when I used this car in the 80's & 90's I went through 4 transmissions...so what's one more? LOL

  • Thanks. I've had this car since 1987, I've driven her over 100mph back in the day, pulled a horse trailer with my stuff in it in college days & moving, and done all sorts of other crazy stuff with her. She's also almost been stolen on more than one ocassion and over 40 people have seen it in my drive way asking if she's for sale. My usual reply is you can't buy my youth, but thanks for asking. I can't believe they are bringing back Camaro's but not Trans Ams? What gives??

  • they got a trans am prototype well i think its the firebird but still looks bad ass

  • Nice video.. put a BIG smile on my face! :) I need to get a video of my car up.. mine's an '83 T-A. You've got a beauty there!

  • Ah thanks. Be sure to send me your video :-) I'm a trans am loving mama...got 2 in the drive way... need a motor & tranny on the 2nd one.

  • They only made 1500 of the special editions and my mom has one of them that has less than 30,000 miles on it! The cars came out of the factory painted a special color of white. You should see if you can have somebody recreate the origional pin strips on it.

    Great cars!

  • Yes you are right. I have TWO of them, this automatic which I haven't put the stripes back on yet because I'm not happy with the paint. I did go ahead and put the phoenix back on. And my other one is a stick shift waiting for a new motor. I plan to give one of them to my son when he graduates next year. This one was my first car and I've had it since 1987.

  • what song? i like it it goes with the car

  • It's Boston, More than a feeling.

  • i knew it. it goes with the car.

  • And finally a third-gen video that doesn't have some song by Disturbed or Slipknot.. kudos for choice of music! I love Boston.

  • I'm pretty much stuck in the 80's LOL. I can't even say I know an actual song title by Slipknot or would recognize them. But let me tell you driving this car is "More than a Feeling" :-) Thanks for posting :-)

  • how is your restore car running right now? hope its not lots of problems...im hoping to buy a trans am that being restore? any suggestion before i buy or tips on how taking care of vehicle?

  • 2 part comment: My # 1 complaint with the original 84 TA was the # of transmissions I went through (3) in the first 5 years. Then I had problems with the car overheating because the starter is so near the exhaust system.

  • I also had trouble with the electric fan. When we restored it this time my husband put in a fan that is manual (works whenever the car is on, or in gear I think) and shrouded the starter for heat protection. The car runs pretty good and is still quite the looker as I watched him driving it in traffic yesterday :-) Good luck with yours.

  • wonderful video, and restoration job, I love the 80's, which means I loved the song you choose as well as the trans am. The 1984 trans am model year is in my opinion, the best there ever was! My dream car is an 84 black w/ gold decals and trim, also the 190 HO engine :D

  • Thanks Firebird Dude :-) I adore my car. I haven't put the Recaro seats back in just yet and I also need to have her repainted before putting full decals on because the paint job was not to my satisfaction. Good luck with finding your dream car. I know this old gal still turns heads in traffic and my son is a Jr in High School and his friends all love this car... what a thrill ;-)

  • getting ready to restore an 84 TA myself, any words of wisdom? You did a beautiful job on yours by the way!!!

  • Thanks. We bought a lot of part on eBay and at Pick-N-Pull (junk yard in San Antonio, TX). If you use a junk yard of their size they have e-mail 50% off specials on ocassion which really helps out your budget. We met some wonderful mechanics along the way and we met some very dishonest ones as well. I often thought the bigger their signs the worse they were. Good luck with yours.
