I did my DTS at the YWAM Metro NY base and it was the greatest experience of my life! Some people may have had bad experiences and there is no point in denying that that happens. But definitely not at my base! We had biblical teachings, it was nothing like Anaskbane2 described. Just research the base you want to go to and don't stay away from YWAM because of a few bad apples.

It is an amazing life changing experience! I'm going in September 08 in Hawaii, and both my parents did it too. It's a time to grow deeper in your relationship with God, hear His voice, and build a solid foundation. Do it! It'll change you're life
I agree with Longe, I also spent a couple of years in YWAM. YWAM is biblically unorthodox, From the open theism of Greg Boyd to the Dominionism of C.Peter Wagner's new apostolic reformation. From the deceitful spiritual warfare they teach to their latest syncretism with Islam, YWAM have been weighed and found wanting. Their leaders are false teachers who are exploiting the youth and in some ways brainwashing them. Did I mention they are in bed with Benny Hinn and word of faith? flee YWAM.

YWAM Perth was, too, but not every base is controlling or manipulating. YWAM Kitchener is a great base.
