  • Here's a suggestion,,,, Stop wanking yourself and trying to show off with the camera. You can't even change gears without grinding all the teeth off. If that was my truck, you would be unemployed now you amatuer. Blokes like you are a danger to other road users and a disgrace to our industry.

  • Love the paint job on this Superdog! Great sound...love for the V8!

  • Geez! the range has changed in 4 years!!!! road signs and barriers and stuff!!

  • How can ya tell a long hood superliner mack from a standard hood one in the diff models of superliners?

  • @HilBil91 by the length of the hood?

  • @McFearsome2 how can you tell if its an auto ;) quick shift

  • That is one killer mack looks beautiful and sounds even better i was making a joke about driving on the wrong side i am in the USA we drive on the opposit side than you.

  • Love listening to that big V-8 Mack! It sounds like music to me, just like a V-8 Detroit! Keep 'em comin!!

  • you are driving on the wrong side

  • not on the wrong side! 2 lanes up & 2 lanes down the Toowoomba Range

  • that truck is freek :)

  • mmm music to my ears!

  • Doey that banga. Whats the go with half gear shifts? Cant u shift 1 1/2. before the saddle. My old Mark II with balanced and blue printed E9 comes over there with 45t @ 57kph. U need 2 have that old girl looked at.

  • Awesome superliner mate!:)

  • What kind of rpm range do they run best in, the old V8 E9? How low can you lug before you shift and how high before you shift?

  • Just got eaten by a Freightliner though lol!!!

  • There is nothing like a Mack :)

  • white line fever glad to out of them

  • good video man, and next time I'm on the run up the hill to Toowoomba, I'll give you all the road....

  • Old Scania just blast by you mate, whats going on....

  • i put a detroit in my superliner AND IT ROCKS THE FUCK OUTTA THE CAB LADIES LOVE IT LOL

  • so much swag!

  • WHAT KIND OF TRANSMISSION DO YOU USE IN THIS TRUCK? IT SOUND VERY GOOD WHILE HIS IS SHIFTING THE GEARS... VERY GOOD VIDEO

  • Nice sound and a eaton twine split box great memories of a great truck

  • If I drove this truck, I'd have priapism :) This truck has such an awesome sound.

  • 18 sp eaton

  • Not only could i listen to that all day, i would LOVE to listen to that all day.

  • is it auto or manual trans ?

  • @bygoran manual

  • @ej93122 how you shift so fast ? what transmission is that?

  • @bygoran I'ts not my truck but I would hazzard to guess it's a 12 speed triple countershaft Mack tranny.

  • @bigcmcg1 I think it has a Mack 18 speed. its a Heavy Haul truck

  • Nice video, how strep of a climb is that? Looks like I'll have to shoort a video of me driving my Volvo D13 up one of the passes in the US. I've got a few trucking videos of me driving across long suspension and cable stayed bridges, some well known truck stops, and things I've seen along the way. You'll have to look for them as my channel is mostly dedicated to amusement park videos.

  • Love That Ballsy v/8

  • People asking why it can't go faster need to realise the steepness and corners invloved! Great shifting too!

  • @cssbarry "great shifting" -- its a slice of shit to shift a truck, clutchless too, could use pink finger.

  • @cssbarry and the weight... and that it doesnt handle like a tiny little car.

  • OMG! listen to the serious \8/ grunting

  • do work !!

  • just got my apprentiship working on these bad boys <3

  • Im a superliner lover from nz,mack superliner all the way.

  • what gear do you use going up

  • @fmx197 2nd

  • That's music, very nice.

  • I'm a Kenworth man, but I really love the sound of the V8 Macks there's some serious Grunt goin on here. Top video mate ;-)

  • @BuzzN14Sline500hp That motor isn't even working hard yet!

  • A snorter of a n engine, 18 or litres of music machine, f---k glyndbourne ,love the straight stack s hear him miles away. beats anything in UK which is mostly washing machines on wheels and about as charismatic as one. Well that my lottery wish sorted out, a Mack V8 powered Scammell Crusader 6 speed Allison box with speed aux short underswept stub exhausts to set off car alarms, 9ton kirkstall front axle shod with 385.65.R,22.5 Super Single Tyres.from oldboilerdog.

  • Wow! I'm a bit surprised, I thought such a powerful engine, even with a fully loaded trailer, could go faster than that in the hills?! Is the engine of your truck one of the most powerful you can see in Australia? (I assume it's Australia)

  • @TheJackpotMaster very steep climb. i was going up it in a kenworth with a C15 CAT in a loaded b double and my fuel econemy was 240 meters to the litre. trucks work pretty hard going up this one.

  • A 7 meter (21 Feet)wall of water rushed down this range on monday Killing many people it is now being called an 'Inland Tsunami'.

  • awsome know range well

  • Watching grass grow would be more exciting than this shit.

  • @imowtflol if you dont like it then why watch it dick

  • where's the vid of it coming down the range, that would sound alot better for me

  • Thanks for the ride

  • Best sound

  • Wow i have never seen the range on youtube before! how much torque does this trucks motor produce?

  • What transmission do you have in this truck?

  • What tranny do you have in the nice ride

  • Was this truck at the 2010 Castlemaine truck show?

I saw one like this with the front tilted, showing off the murals on the radiator shroud and rocker covers.

It was later when I noticed the mural with the cowboy hat on the bonnet (seen in this Vid) that it clicked!

Came home watched this vid again and..

  • Seems to go really good. Imagine how fast it would be if ya could get that miss out of it hahaha. An oldie but a goodie!!!!

  • we want more videos!!!!! , keep up the good work :-D

  • nice power

  • What percent of grade is this hill? We have some 11% grade hills here in the western United States. 7% is the government limit with exceptions of course.

  • @spencnaz most of the toowoomba range is about 9% but there are a few sections steeper than that. there are 2 roads up the range, this tuck is on the less steep road.

  • such a pity that a lying piece of shit named John"dont pay my bills"kelly of H.H.A bought it, as well as took 5 months to pay for it,WORD IS HES BEING SOLD UP couldnt pay to get float fixed so got order out to foreclose him..,gee whats this the 4th time youve been bankrupt..Do not do business with this vermin.Theres a book of people who wont do work for him again from Bris to Victoria who he hasnt paid...

  • @TheBambi1964 OMG what a sad cunt you are ? who cares its still the BEST MACK V8 vid in the world .

  • @dognz09 ,hey fukwit,i knew the guys in geelong who built this truck as well as the owner and and he ripped both of them off..Klos custom trucks will never touch a h.h.a truck again because of his lies.Ring them and ask them if you doubt my words.,do some research before you open yu mouth..Yes they still are an awesome truck,no truck will ever match a v8 mack..Theres 2 superliner v8s being built at the moment that will rock your boat when theyre finished..Its still awesome though

  • @bambi1964au true my bad dont know the man but i love that truck ,tell me its got to be a bad thing to splat a mans life on a world page dude thats just not cricket.

  • @dognz09 what do you mean cricket you fuck

  • @MegaCat312 fucken dumb dumb kid .

  • Dude - seems funny when the truck was on the Klos Stand only weeks ago at Castlemaine..... If klos had such a problem with him they would have not put both of his trucks on their stand..... Maybe your thinking of the other guy who owned it - he has been broke 4 times I believe.... Take care there trucker !!

  • @jfk525 ,yeh fuwits kellys truck was on there stand, but them or pjs wont do work for him again due to long time for payment..First ive heard of the original owner bein broke 4 times, obviously you dont know the original owner,im sure he'd like to have a little chat to you with comments like that (he aint a big talker if know what i mean)..Do yu research before you open yu mouth, research john kelly before you shoot yu mouth off and actually know what to say..

  • are you on the jake the whole way down the cut?

  • and that was bobtail!

  • Yep love that V8 Mack sound

  • I rode with you the entire way... thanks for the post, now I don't have to wonder what the sound and feel of the "whispering giant" is like when up against a challenge.

  • Nice sound..

  • Don't ya just love the sound of a V8 Mack. Pity that Mack don't make the V8 any more. I can remember all the old Macks back in the 1970's driving past my place pulling single deck cattle crates and most of those were V8's , 375 hp. Don't much care for the new Mack trucks. I think Mack has lost it's strangle hold on the heavy haulage market. Not as good as they once were. I could be wrong, let me know if I am wrong.

  • @parcelmate No, you're right. Mack trucks are just puppies now, in comparison to what they were in decades past.

  • dume just go thats why people got killed just dum

  • Scanias v 8 is the best ones

  • @nibizsw3 my uncle worked for scania for 20yrs, says scania uses the mack engine block

  • @johnaust7 Yeah the other way around then cause the engine blocks and the hole engine is made in Södertälje Sweden end i am almost 100 procent shure about thet

  • fair dinkum it does sound like a proper v8 beastie

  • wooowww fantastic you Mack

  • how does this compare with scania v8s of 16litres and 620 hp the new scania has a 16.4 litre v8 with 730 hp reputed to be the worlds most powerful production truck ?? are you thinking of getting a scania v8 in aus cos those e9 v8 mack engines do like to blow liners and heads regularly enough dont they

  • @M374EVL

Point of this engines are TORQUE, not power

  • @2jzgtejza80 we had the same engine in the renault mack magnum 16.4 litre v8 but only 610 hp and 2780nm the new scania engine has 730 hp and 3350 to 3500nm of torque so your point is ??

  • @M374EVL

You are talking about horsepower, i said that HP is not important to these trucks like TORQUE. That's all.

  • @2jzgtejza80 well i was just explaining in a polite manner thats all i hope i provided you with some useful information thanks

  • @2jzgtejza80 the e9 mack v8 is the same engine in the titan you use down under as the magnum used to use it cant have been that good as volvo now offer their d16 straight six oh sorry mp10 engine as an alternative it may have been i m guessing that the old e9 v8 would meet the stringent emission laws forced upon everyone??

  • absolutly glorious!!!!!

  • Used to drive a 1988 superliner hauling drilling equipment.Even in the winter i would leave the window down just to listen to those 500 horses pop.

  • ok i love square hoods but wow its like a brick man cool paint tho

  • one of the best trucking videos one youtube! thing sounds fat.

  • super truck

  • man thats a nice truck!

  • so what gear did you use to get up the hill and how many gear speed did it have, it sounds great for a V8 diesel engine.

  • damn what a hill, givin the ol v8 one hell of a workout

  • When the q'land gov gets around to building the new rd up the toowoomba range, this section will be history!

  • Nutin like a V8 Mack.......

  • hi I live i the UK and have driven trucks and coaches for 37 years love your video's plus the in cab on this one, 'SEE THERE IS NO DOUBLE DE-CLUTCHING NOW, BUT THE SOUND OF THE THROBBING v8 BRILLIANT WELL DONE

  • i love the off beat thump of the e9. its amazing ... there are heaps of good trucks around . but even joe blogs off the street see a series 2 superliner roll past ... BOOOM ... the big wave and shit happpens .

  • @3xcortyaself yeah this engine is one of the best engine sounds i heard, but do you know if its true that some people say, that the mack e9 is a scania dc14? they do sound a little simlar, i hope somene can anwser me :)

and exuse me for the very bad english, im from sweden :)

  • @AbbeSJK ha ha ha lol thought it was crackin till a b double bagged it up

  • @fourfoot64 empty b double tho. this thing with nothing on it is only 4.5 ton under the weight limit for a conventional semi.

  • @AbbeSJK They similar because they have the same firing order, mercedes sound different because they have a different firing order.

    I

  • @AbbeSJK yes my friend it is the same motor, in fact this motor also powers volvo's off road rigid frame dump trucks, [ kockums]

  • Shes definately got some balls !!

  • opened up to 800 horsepower no motor will last 620 is the limit because of emissions and cooling ive heard scanias gonna put 1 out to 730 be interesting to see how it goes

  • was that truck and dog at 04:12 stoped or was it moving????

  • that hill is a bitch. seen 1 truck crash at the bottom of the range and one catch on fire at the start of the climb.

  • that exhaust system is music to my ears, great movie thx

  • hermoso sonido del motor, precioso camion, me hubiese gustado verlo por dentro.

  • Thats really music!!!

  • No, just seen the top of the stick, so it's not an automatic.

  • Is it an automatic ?

  • @johnsenkenn,

    It's a 18 speed Mack MaxiTorque manual!

    Joe

  • y r u driving on the wrong side of the road?

  • @wilatemodel

Try to drive in the right side of the road, and see what happens.

  • @johnsenkenn is the right side the "hammer" lane?

  • @wilatemodel

When I was younger that was the lane I spend most of my time in on the freeway, now it's in the slow lane.

  • is the lone ranger a HHA rig?

  • @RECOVER083,

Hell yeah! One of the finest Jon has!

    Joe

  • that must be one hell of a grade. very nice sound. i love listening to those bulldogs growl

  • Some of the superliners's had air operated throttles and were very challenging to drive with a spicer. Very reliable at 400 and 440 hp but hand grenade's at 500 and above. Especially breaking head studs pulling 2+ trailers.

  • Absolutely great! As a teen i would ride with my stepdad hauling heavy equiptment from Dallas/Ft.Worth to west Texas in a Mack. Great video.

  • Yes,a mountain can be like a chewing gum ;-) If you ever visit southernEurope, than drive trough the Ardennes or from Spain to Portugal-the IP5 is with 18% here and there..and many rescuelanes.. Tnx for posting

  • awesome journey with you mate sweet music listening to that sweet v8 hummin along there take it easy keep those wheels between the ditches

  • What a great video! Thanks for posting it!

  • Does the shift pattern on that truck start from the left and work towards the right or vice versa?

  • Why I'd be so screwed up driving over there, on the opposite side of the road and the wrong side of the Cab, steering whell on the passenger side, I could not shift with my left hand I don't think, I'm from Missouri-USA

  • was that wide open?

  • you lucky bastard i've never had a v8 mack not that common here in nz gotta love that mack box too I miss them got a kw now.

  • nice truck can't wait to get my truck licence so i can get back in them

  • Love the sound of a V8 diesel.

    Noise?

    Nah, that's music.

  • loaded that turbo whistle must be incredible.. and i could listen to that engine all day!.. no problems at all :) Great video.

  • serious ft lb s

  • if it aint a v8 bulldog mack it aint worth driving..... great video mate

  • @temco007 Too bloody right! It ain't worth driving or watching here!

  • sweet vid man. a e9 is what we need here in west virginia in the states pulling a coal bucket. long live the bulldog!!!

  • at 4.40 that a renult magnum ,what they called over there

  • Mack magnum they r only called renult in europe i think

  • @bob22338,

That's exactly what that brown and white truck was!

    Joe

  • @britdemo,

It's a Magnum as well - but with a Mack badge on it! Our Magnums had 565hp Cummins Signatures in them, not the Renault engine!

    Joe

  • the cuzn drives a 525 CL mack logger last of the E9s its getting tuff to get parts for these old girls in NZ lovely bitchs they are.

  • the best truck vid on you tube e9 v8 4 eva.

  • So......... Least he's showing us his awsome trukc Lone Ranger. Got a problem with that? then fuck off

  • Been up & down that road a few times, but never in a V8 Mack. That was cool. thanks for the lift up the hill mate..

  • Thats a sweet little ride in a badass truck.makes me wanna buy a video camera and take everyone for a ride in my superdog.... V-8"s rule! I hate Renault and Volvo for killing the almighty V-8.

  • @KaptainKavemann scania are still making the exact same motor as they always have...

  • lol, at about 2 mins in, just wouldnt the Toowoomba Range without a breakdown

  • To think I owned a superliner with a 500 6"tubes loved that ride but my exwife got it just to piss me off I'm lookin for another super dog love that sound out of those pipes nice lookin ride

  • gracias por subir este video esta precioso

  • Sweet !!!

  • hey nice truck, we just bought a 7500 Iveco with a signature 600hp Cummings, it was towing a empty grain trailer going up the range in top gear, my uncle floored it and i was in a falcon behind and it pulled away from me when i was flat towing a box trailer. fuck these big trucks have some go

  • mean truck

  • That's a beautiful truck, That's a beautiful sound.

I love your work mate, Thanks for posting the video.

This is what aussie truckin is all about. These machine's, and the men who drove them

  • Truck is so sick

  • What sort of Gear Box you runin in that truck.

  • Great vid mate really enjoyed the view and the sound. I spent a couple of years doing the Toowoomba to Bris and back again with Jankes and Hillmans but I didn't have a tug with as much character as your dog, best I could manage was an Aerodyne or Argosy, ah well maybe next time.

  • That right there is what you call "walkin' the dog"!!!!

  • What a dont understand is why can a vw toureg tow a 747 jumbo jet on a flat runway, and these trucks should be able to tow 3-400 ton with ease.after all their torque figures are huge.
