You can tell how rushed this film was in the development stages. During the final fight between Megatron and Optimus Prime at about the 5:15 mark the battle damage fluxuates, so you know many different animation teams worked on those 5 mins.

The only bit cut from there was in storyboard stage, basically just before Optimus says "Thats a question you should ask yourself", Ramjet tries to jump him and gets smashed into the ground face first. That's why it looks like Optimus is standing up when he says that line.
I do love the first peice of music playing on this scene (titled "City under seige"). Especially the first bit really hammers home the "They're totally fucked" part of this sequence.

Devastator kicks the crap out of three dinobots in this movie. In rotf, he shows his robo testicles.... and fails to destroy the twins... Bay does not know how to handle Transformers.
@Robofish12 I dunno; devastator did deliver some early beats as he caught them dropping in, but the dinobots don't really take pain (except for swoop who is a much lighter build than the rest). They would have just kept getting in beats and taking them until Devastator could no longer maintain combiner mode. Devastator was never as tough or quick as the other combiners (too bad Menasor/Bruticus/Superion/Defensor didn't make it into the movie)
best fight scene hands down. the dinobots are able to fly. soundwave is an older generation bot along with megatron optimus and ultramagnus. they are old school and stick to there core values. they are the ride or die types.
The only thing that sucked from this scene was that all Dinobots were showed jumping off the ship, then in the next scene you only see four flying and then battling Devastator. I demand a CGI remake with this scene corrected
It would've been better for the Transformers cartoon series if the Dinobots and Prime hadn't interrupted. Why? Because Megatron, Devastater and the other Decepticons would have killed off those shitty new Transformers and the cartoon would've avoided slipping to utter shambles
@piplup2009 ROTF Soundwave's voice had the same synthesizer effect as all the Transformers (that processing they added to make them all sound robot-y), but was missing the vocoder effect used in the G1 cartoon. In this particular instance, the vocoder is less prominent. Some of the better examples are in the More Than Meets The Eye (MTMTE) G1 pilot.
Frank Welker performs it the same way for both - as a deep, gravelly voice; the same one as for Dr Claw in Inspector Gadget.

Both are supposed to be dead. However, Wheeljack appears in the Japanese "Victory" series, apparently due to the Japanese not seeing the G1 movie until well after the US, so they didn't know he was supposed to be dead. Prowl appears in "Headmasters" for the same reason.
Windcharger appears in the background of a (US) season 3 episode, but that's just due to poor animation.
@StarFighters76 It's not Sideswipe nor is it Smokescreen it's Wheeljack with the wrong colors. Look at where Arcee drags Windcharger who isn't dead yet. (his eyes are still blue) She drags him into the same direction as the mystery character. When you see their closeups you see Windcharger in front of Wheeljack and is in the same position.

Both are supposed to be dead. However, Wheeljack appears in the Japanese "Victory" series, apparently due to the Japanese not seeing the G1 movie until well after the US, so they didn't know he was supposed to be dead. Prowl appears in "Headmasters" for the same reason.
Windcharger appears in the background of a (US) season 3 episode, but that's just due to poor animation.

@StarFighters76 It's not Sideswipe nor is it Smokescreen it's Wheeljack with the wrong colors. Look at where Arcee drags Windcharger who isn't dead yet. (his eyes are still blue) She drags him into the same direction as the mystery character. When you see their closeups you see Windcharger in front of Wheeljack and is in the same position.
