@TheWarbirdPhoenix He who lives by the sword dies by the sword. Destruction will only bring more destruction, and death will replicate itself over and over. The sky is poison because humans made it so.
@MRWWAYSS Well, actually you can't... since we've already burned it too. Reactor of D6 will suffice: "If there's hell, Artyom, this should be it!", Miller once told me... actually four times, since I can't stop myself going through the game over and over again in Ranger Hardcore!
If S.T.A.L.K.E.R. had these graphics and engine it would have been a bit better! (personal opinion)
hehehe, not to insult S.T.A.L.K.E.R, but this game really impressed me, after finishing Shadow Of Chernobyl I thought to myself "I would never have the chance to play such amazin game again" then I played Metro 2033... :D
By the way, you can hear this track in two places, not just Sparta.
First time you may notice it plays in the shrine of the dead. You get there after you meet Khan the first time. I might say it's as much impressive there.
@BlisterEye Honestly, I felt almost tearing up for some reason, I can't explain it. It's even weird. As if the view on the church and the music opened something in me.
Discovering something like this is a rare thing. I cherish it immensely.
Got there yesterday. I'm not a religious man, but to see that church broken and battered... the saints' portraits, cracking and covered in dirt... and the music... it just tore me inside.
I recalled the surface, and what Khan said about the ghosts of the Metro, and I just shuddered from thinking at the immense magnitude of destruction that would have been needed to bring such a complete and absolute destruction.
And the only thing I could ask myself was "How could we cause such chaos?".
I generally enjoy derelict games like STALKER, but STALKER's "Zone", despite its grim and sinister aura, it's limited, insignificant compared to the Earth as a whole. Fallout 3's retro atmosphere cuts any strings with our time-line, and loses its power.
But METRO... The destruction is complete, possibly final. Khan's words are still vivid in my mind, months later. Humanity's throne has crumbled to dust...
@DevilDog016 I know exactly what you mean, im an atheist. But for some reason the ruined church was just amazing. And very detailed. I looked uup and saw a picutre of Jesus looking down, half the paint peeled off.
Metro 2033 hasw had the best atmosphere I have evver seen in a game. Its great becuase some of the things I remember best involve little or no combat. Base Sparta, ghosts and anomalies were great. I hope last light is as good as metro 2033, it set a high standard.
@DevilDog016 For in our hopes to find a path to walk upon, a way to gain the absolute power, to hold the mightiest of all guns that shall prevent future wars. We shall doom ourselves and we will make the perfect destruction where our paradise, our hell, and even the city of the dead that does not belong to either the good or bad, all will disintegrate into nothingness. To survive and overcome, we must find a balance.
@DevilDog016 Been a long time but eh. Basically ive read the book and damn i thought it was gonna be like the game i was wrong, in my opnion the book is better but damn the game is a 5/5
Do you have a high bitrate version or this? It's not on the OST or anything! The song made me stop in my tracks when I heard it in game... gotta have it in my music library!
Thank you sooo much for uploading this . I have searched for it since the game was released.

The sky is so beautiful. It's tragic that it's now poison to normal humans.

Yes, yes... I was looking exactly for this one!
Why is the best track in the game not in the OST...

You know what is really sad about the Metro ghosts you can find?
There literally is no place to go for them as, according to Khan, even the afterlife (Heaven, Hell, Purgatory) have been destroyed by the bombs.
So, if you die, you stay roaming that tunnel for all eternity...
If you can't call this, emotional story telling at its finest, you need to go hell.

@DevilDog016 Felt exactly the same, even the thought was basically the same - how could something like this happened? Gone so far.
As much I perceive Metro as an imaginative piece, it still sends a good message out.

@deepeye1328 @deepeye1328 Its finality is what makes Metro really pull my moral strings.
I generally enjoy derelict games like STALKER, but STALKER's "Zone", despite its grim and sinister aura, it's limited, insignificant compared to the Earth as a whole. Fallout 3's retro atmosphere cuts any strings with our time-line, and loses its power.

@DevilDog016 Just completed it second time. I love the end. Many games lack the feeling it created or overdo it.
I was extremely sceptical about the game when it first came out, didn't even want to play it. Now I'm glad I got to give it another try.
And I completely agree with what you said, a rare thing. I really do.
Metro has the global feel about it and looking at the vista you see at the end... it just comes crashing down on you.
And I guess Khan was my favorite character in the game.

@DevilDog016 You can always take solace in the fact that the church itself was still, for the most part, "intact"
