  • The strings on mine are way too high.

  • @duncers i would say if your first guitar or if your looking for something to have as practice instrument or just a beater i would recommend it, the pick ups could give more out put but its decent. I have had mine for 4 years and just bought a used Schecter C-1 Elite from a pawn shop for 200, perfect condiction I would recommend going to guitar center, pawn shops, play a couple see whats comfortable and whats good for what your playing. But epiphones doe fall apart with time u will replace alot

  • I dont like the pick ups. I think im gonna buy seymour duncan invaders. Tom delonge has them too.

  • I've dropped mine twice due to the terribly placed strap button on the back of the guitar. Who's bright idea was that? I was nearly in tears, but this is a tough guitar. I got mine in Hong Kong a few years ago. These SG's are ok, but i had a no-name copy back in the early 80's that was much better. I'm getting a Tele in the next couple of months though.

  • hey anyone thats thinking about buying this instrument i have to warn that Epiphone SG special series is a very cheaply made series. I have owned my for almost three years and almost every piece of hardware has failed, pick ups 4 months after purchase, the Chanel switch broke(happens with other guitars too) the nut, the the jack input just broke 4 days ago need to be fixed oh and all the nobs fall off.. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED

  • @tanoobular2

wat is better in an sg style by epiphone? i thinking of buying this but so many people have been sayin its good, and some that its bad ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:(

  • i put pink ernie balls on mine as well

    its awesome!

want to change my pickups to emg 81 60

    or 81 85

  • I like mine. I recently had the action adjusted and had the tuning pegs replaced with good old sg pegs. I play clean blues and am pleased. "Intermediate" is my level. (But gettin' better!) Why is it so "cheap"? -- alder/maple wood body, bolted on neck, cheap tuning pegs (resolved on mine). Still, good guitar for price. Easy and fun to upgrade.

  • spider 3 has well more than 4 settings

  • who cares if the strings are nice....you need to replace them anyways...

  • +1 .... ..

  • id go for special sg

    but its up 2 u

  • which one should i get the Epiphone SG or Epiphone Les Paul Special II

  • dude my mate has one of these they are awesome better than most things i have played on piss easy a good guitar....and my mate swears by it lol

  • which is best this or the squire strat?

  • For sure this. The squier Strat is soo overrated. It never stays in tune. Also.. they aren't very durable.

  • My 9 year old Squire Strat stay in tune for months at a time. Of course, I don't play it much.

  • lol if your a real guitar player you change strings every month or else they snap before they get out of tune

  • @MoMoMEGATRON my squire strat stays in tune very well so you are wrong

and im not a fender fanboy

  • @MoMoMEGATRON

tooootally agree. my friend had both but the squire broke within a week of it being bought. the sg is supposed to be alot better thats why i want one :D

  • @MoMoMEGATRON yea i got a strat and im not lovin it i mean i got it a while ago as a beginner guitar but the there is a lot of buzz cuz the pick ups suck.. its not a bad guitar just im consiering trading it in for the sg special here

  • dont get a squier strat

  • can u get sum tighter tuners <?

  • how much was it

  • About 300

  • can you toghten up the tuners so it doesnt come outa tune...im stuck between this and the les peul(epiphon) but the obly thing puttin me off them is that they both come outat tune,,,,, is it a painand witch 1 should i get thnxs..........

  • Get the les paul. No-brainer. i just wanted an SG. lol
