  • what the guy below me said, if i could be 1/100th as good as this man even in my prime i would be happy. man i would love for this man to be my sahbamnim (sp?)

  • i can only hope to be a fraction of how good he is at that age!! AMAZING!

  • TKD Is his life. Thats what it takes to reach his level. Never give up.

  • i wish they can teach me taekwando

  • datz beautiful

    man!!

  • beautiful

  • ...some people say Iran is favored during Poomsae competitions because he's their Master.

  • I think so as well. I was there and didn't think Iran was that special. I thought the European nations were much better (stronger). Anyway, hopefully this year in Turkey we wont get any biased judging.

  • Hi jsstevens..thank you for the video..Ive been looking around and there aren't much video of Master Kang Shin Chul..r u gona post some more?

  • ...Awesome

  • he is amasing though,

the speed and hight of his kicks is probly the best iv ever seen.

  • sooo beautifullll!

  • kapo el maestro

  • I trained with Master Kang while in Korea in 2002. Impressive!

  • kukkiwon master, sus tecnicas son mas precisas con el pasar del tiempo.

  • some kicks in this video from 1:13 - 1:18 look very similar to the kicks from Taekkyon.

  • yeah thats so true, i thort the same lol.

  • that spinning heel kick look kinda weird. but overall nice video

  • I dont think it was a hook kick but rather a spinning crescent or spinning axe kick.

  • spinning heel and a spinning crescent look simular

  • I'm sorry but what sort of cloth is he wearing

  • Traditional Korean Clothing. From what I've read this is one of Master Kang's trademarks- you never see him wearing modern clothing like a suit and tie.

  • impressive, thnx grandmaster:)

  • Great performance, you can tell how Kang, Chin Sul used the Korean National Song "Airang" and many techniques that Tae Kwon Do shares with Taek Kyon to have a very cultural and nationalistic poomsae. If he performs this on Korean national holidays I am sure it would bring much pride.

  • Hello!

Can you tell us which Kwan have Taek kyon techniques and which Kwan founders learned Taek kyon, what rank they were, and who their teacher's were? I cannot find this information anywhere.

  • I do not know. A good place to ask is the Taekwondo digest mailing list. Subscribe to and email this question to taekwondo-net at bluewaves dot org you will either get an answer a tip in the right direction.

  • Thank you ery much, I will attempt to get hard facts there.

However, I am hypothesizing that Tae kyon shares no roots, or common techniques, with Taekwondo before c.1945 when they began to claim (and possibly imitate the technques of) Taekyon lineage.

  • Taekwondo has been influenced by arts from China and Japan so why not by another art from Korea? Taekyon is quite old. I would find it very difficult to believe that Taekyon has not influenced Taekwondo in any way. I'm sure there is at least one prominent TKD master out there that has incorporated something of Taekyon into his teachings. In fact there is a video here on Youtune of a promiment TKD master hosting a guest Taekyon instructor. That's proof enough for me.

  • i seeen that guy in some TKD videos hes looks really good

  • this is TAEKKYON

  • the person demonstrating is a Grandmaster of Taekwondo the poomsae contains many techniques practiced in Taekwondo including Kodureo Makki, WeSantul Makki, momtong jirugi, Yeop Chagi, Dolleo Chagi, Bitureo Chagi, Dwi Hooryo Chagi,

  • great poomsea he is grandmaster i think this poomsea about taekwondo

  • is he Iran's taekwondo poomsae coach? I think I saw him in the 1st poomsae world championships but since video is not hq I' m not sure...

  • yes, he was the headcoach before

  • he is a master

  • No it doesn't

  • i think uur are right its not looking like tai chi

  • look like taekyong

  • nice one, its ballroom/waltzy music, with the serenity of tai chi with taekwondo kicking!

  • arirang
