I love the trains and layout! You must have a huge room to keep it up all year round! I use a 3 foot oval at my folks house when I visit. A perfect circle for at home. I like my parents house better because I can put up the Park I have. (It's Union Pacific Park, and it changes every time I visit.) The track gets moved around and changed so much it doesn't last very long.
Thank you so much for the comment and compliment. I don't have a permanent layout yet, so I get my "fix" with setting these up for the holidays. The room measures close to 12' x 16'. I usually start setting things up in the middle of November and start taking it down in the middle of January. I am looking forward to setting things up this year as well as my next trip to York in October.
thanks to your video I'm inspired to buy one of these for my christmas layout I put on every year at the local park, I think the town would enjoy something like that mighty engine hustling around. Also the L2a is the only mohawk I like, it doesn't look generic or a bigger hudson in those respects
Thanks for the comment. Out of all the Mohawks the NYC had, the L-2a is my favorite. The layout you set up each year sounds very nice. I'm sure it's enjoyed by everyone.
Honestly, I don't plan on selling this locomotive. But if I was looking to buy one, I would think that $600 to $700 would be a fair price for a used on in good condition. Lionel also made this locomotive with Railsounds 5.0 and 4 chuffs per revolution, and I would think that version would sell for more.
One of my favorite engines. I hope Lionel or MTH makes New York Central L2-a Mohawk with Legacy or PS2 respectively. They both made other versions of the Mohawk, but the L2-a is the most beautiful of series.
Thanks! This locomotive is a favorite of mine. Lionel had three releases of this locomotive. Good luck with your switch to O Scale. If you have any questions just ask. I'll try to help.
I did a quick search on ebay and there is one that ends tonight. Lionel # 6-11105 and it has Railsounds 5.0 and four chuffs per revolution. The one I have has Railsounds 4.0 and two chuffs per revolution. When I get a chance this evening I do a more thorough search tonight to see what I can find.
I saw this at the Black Hawk automobile muesum inside a display case along the Centry Club 2 Niagra and a another NYC hudson from the 21st centry limented it to was a centry club 2 engine and cars.
Good luck in your search for L3a. I'm sure you will enjoy it when you get one. The L2a is one of my favorite locomotives that I have. The detail is great and it operates very well.
Thanks for the comment. I always liked the looks of them as well. Especially the L2 class. They just looked like they were all business and could really haul the freight.
That is a great lay out you have there! Especially the Locomotives ! Very nice !

I like all the Mohawks, but the L2-a is also my favorite. This locomotive with Legacy would be simply amazing.

that probably cost a ton

@pensyturbine
Actually, it was no where near a ton. Just a little over a quarter ton. I did get a GREAT deal on this locomotive.

Is that a up 9000 class @ 0:25?
09JDCTrainMan 1 year ago
Thanks for the comment. Yes, that's a Union Pacific 9000 class 4-12-2 that you see. I also have also uploaded a video of it as well.

How is this possible? I just bought one and it not being 4 ciffs per rev. is the only downfall for me.
