I'm the biggest King Diamond fan in the world and I like this cover. If I wanted to hear the singer sing like King Diamond, I'd listen to King Diamond. I like how these guys do it their way, yet still pay homage to King Dimond, Andy and crew while doing it.

Man, we weren't trying to be King Diamond. We did our own version. We even talked about doing falsetto, which I can do, and decided not to. I will leave that to King Diamond. No one had ever really done a death metal version. Quite honestly, I feel that it takes much more balls to do it the way you want, rather than just like the original. Trust me, it would have been much easier for me to do the falsetto. There were things that I had to learn on the fly to pull this one off.

if you are going to cover a good song by a good band, the best thing to do is take it and make it your own while keeping/improving on the best parts.

look up dark funeral's cover of the trial. they make it sound like them by tuning deeper, and using black metal growls, but they still keep the best parts- the falsetto madness.

another example would be death's cover of painkiller. they really brought out halfords screams even more than the original.

as a result, this cover does nothing for me.
