If I were to get a Mac the first thing I would do is install Windows XP, not Windows Vista, not Windows 7, XP. It runs so nice when you take care of it. Apple is overpriced and monopolizes everything they make, and put an 'i' in front of it. iMovie, iPod, iPhone, iPhoto, iTunes...

If Apple hadn't been so proprietary back in the day no one would have ever heard of Windows. Apple hurt themselves by putting out overpriced systems sure they work good but you can get a PC and run LINUX which is based off UNIX just like Mac OS..although Windows 7 is pretty damn sweet. Lack of 3rd party hardware, price, cost of upgrading and lack of options when upgrading a mac is why I bought my new Hp elite. I have Windows 7, intel core 2 quad CPU, 8 Gbs RAM, 8 mbs of L2 cache, 1330 FSB, 650w power supply, nividia 9500Gt video card, 800 Gb hard drive, fuk I can go on and on and it cost me just over $1500 to buy and upgrade a few things. Show me a mac that can run like mine at $1500, there isnt one^^

Also, another thing to point out, iMacs are some of the most outdated stuff out on the market, The Core i7 is new, i'll give it that, but It's had the Core 2 Duo for a Long period of time, and the Video Card is a ATi 4850, which is good, but still isn't the best out(This is the Best iMac you can get right now)...you would expect to get more with $5,000

Not All PCs crash all the time, And to the person who said PCs are cheap, its because Apple overprices the upgrading stuff like RAM and CPUs, but not all PCs are cheap, And PCs are also unique, there are millions of configurations you can get out of a PC, with plenty of upgrading room. I would rather have a $1000 computer that I can upgrade rather then a $1000 iMac with limited upgrading possibilities that are very expensive...Just my 2 cents..

I've been using the same PC for five years now. It is long overdue but it still works like a charm. I just reformat it every one or two years and it runs smoothly. I've gotten viruses and i've gotten them all removed within two or three days. The only major problem was when my hard drive completely died and i had to buy a complete new one for 80 bucks. but cmon 5 years is a long time.

Macs are for bads. Unless you have over 1000 dollars to spend on a 'cool' looking laptop thats as thin as a sheet of paper for no apparent reason and has no built in drives, then go for it. Other than that, you can make a PC that's pretty much the same as a mac for less than 600.

Think about it. Pay 1000+ for a sheet of paper, or pay 600- for something that works.

Not saying Macs are completely horrible either, they have their upsides, but they're a waste of money, IMO.

Dude I have a PC and a mac and I spend a ridiculous amount of time trying to fix my PC. My mac has not had a problem ever. and my mac is older than the PC. The only thing the PC has that the mac does not is the games. which is easy to fix because you can just install windows 7 and use it while on you mac allowing you to play games. You pay for what you get. And macs are the best. I don't understand why people prefer the PC over it. maybe you can tell me?

You really don't. Let's say a PC is a t-shirt, and a Mac is a designer shirt. Sure, the designer shirt looks better, but it's still a shirt, and does the exact same job a t-shirt does. On that note, a standard t-shirt would probably also be a little more susceptible to damage, but then again, if you TOOK CARE OF IT, it probably wouldn't have any problems. I will also bring up the fact that most PC's are DIRT CHEAP. My friend's PC has 8g RAM and 1 terabyte of space. How much did he spend? $700.

Just because Macs looks better than PCs does not mean that is their main attraction. And MY MAc is really tough I have dropped it many times onto a hard wooden floor and it is still fine. I have taken better care of my PC all around. trying to protect it from viruses and keeping everything up to date. But my Mac that I don't do any of that to still works better. PC are dirt cheap because they crash and just fail all the time in many different areas. Have you ever owned a Mac?
