We all know Detroit's rep for 100K+ cars. I think a lot of it is that a lot of these reviews (KBB, Edmunds, MotorTrend, etc) tend to be nicer to American made cars.

The Mondeo share the same chassis with the Fusion & Volvo S80...thats it...all the body work, interior and design r made in Europe..actually in Germany...Go to any car review and they will skip the all the rivals to compare it with the most premium cars such as A4 and BMW 3-series! i was impressed too....and since 2007 till now nothing gone wrong and the reliability record is one of the best! it is half the way to be a compact executive rather than a family car....but the prices are the same :)

Cobalts had power steering failure that could end up killing it's passengers from not only that but also with other safety issues. Aveos had issues with the cheap plastic fittings that connect to the radiator hoses; spraying all the coolant out fusing the engine block up. GM denied it.

Honda is a excellent Motor company. And they do not produce deathtraps. The only cars that were effected by the airbag issue were from Back in 01. Everything else has been excellent. Explain their 5 star safety ratings in their entire Acura lineup. Or how the Accord and Civic scored better in safety ratings next to the cobalt and malibu. The malibu did great in some of the crash tests I saw. But it doesn't distribute energy around the body structure as good.

The entire Unitbody structure is dipped in a special bath that coats the frame with corrosion resistant materials. Honda is a very impressive company. Every Honda we've owned has never let us down. The way they are designed, and the way the engines are made and the quality of the vehicle is spectacular. The new ones have been setting the benchmark and standard for safety. But, is the Malibu going to start falling apart at 50K miles? My last GM car (1986) was literally falling apart at 75K. The shift handle came off, the inside door handle came off, left mirror fell off and roof felt came off, the ball joint broke, the starter broke and had to use starter fluid to start the car.

We all know Detroit's rep for 100K+ cars. I like watching these reviews but I feel that even if an automaker managed to get top safety, largest interior, best quality material, best fuel economy, best driving dynamics, best styling, best resale value, etc these reviewers would find SOMETHING to complain about.
I think a lot of it is that a lot of these reviews (KBB, Edmunds, MotorTrend, etc) tend to be nicer to American made cars.

Don't know what a Mondeo is, but i bet it wont last. Like all Foords. I've had f350 f250 and f150 and they were all headahces. My nephew is struggling with a 2008 ford right now (fool don't listen,so he'll have to pay). These fords don't give you a break. As you make 1 repair, something else goes. The Mondeo share the same chassis with the Fusion & Volvo S80...thats it...all the body work, interior and design r made in Europe..actually in Germany...Go to any car review and they will skip the all the rivals to compare it with the most premium cars such as A4 and BMW 3-series! i was impressed too....and since 2007 till now nothing gone wrong and the reliability record is one of the best! it is half the way to be a compact executive rather than a family car....but the prices are the same :)

The only problem i ever had with my Honda after over 150k and 7 years was due to a US made distributor. If it was an exotic car that's costs over 100k. I wouldn't have any problem having a personal mechanic deal with it since I'm paying over a hundred fucking thousand in the first place. And it was true what they stated. Some japanese car companys (Toyota, Honda) have shown better reliability in their small car market than most domestic companies who quite frankly haven't even tried at back then and still even today! Though Toyota is starting to slip on that title Honda has never lost it. Their engines are still bulletproof and the car is worth more than a chevy would be similar speced when it's time for trade in. There is a 3-5k dollar gap between the chevy and honda resell.

That's a switch you idiot. Switches are an easy fix. Even so it doesn't effect the drivability of the vehicle. Only if you SPILL a liquid on it it has the "possibility" of starting a little fire.
Cobalts had power steering failure that could end up killing it's passengers from not only that but also with other safety issues. Aveos had issues with the cheap plastic fittings that connect to the radiator hoses; spraying all the coolant out fusing the engine block up. GM denied it.

Depends what brand. Mitsubishi has always made garbage (cast iron heads), as well as suzuki. Mercedes and BMW are always over engineered which makes it prone to far more mechanical and electric failures.

Honda is a excellent Motor company. And they do not produce deathtraps. The only cars that were effected by the airbag issue were from Back in 01. Everything else has been excellent. Explain their 5 star safety ratings in their entire Acura lineup. Or how the Accord and Civic scored better in safety ratings next to the cobalt and malibu. The malibu did great in some of the crash tests I saw. But it doesn't distribute energy around the body structure as good.

They do not rust out. They are fabricated with Steel and paint from AMERICAN suppliers. The entire Unitbody structure is dipped in a special bath that coats the frame with corrosion resistant materials. Honda is a very impressive company. Every Honda we've owned has never let us down. The way they are designed, and the way the engines are made and the quality of the vehicle is spectacular. The new ones have been setting the benchmark and standard for safety. Thanks to some of the features.

See for your self if this isn't enough evidence. Of course a few years afterwords they were able to correct a few of these issues. But still, it was incredibly poor. even for the 2006 year when the civic won an award for safety. Honda does make one of the safest cars on the road. And they can take a real beating.
