You need to add some water to your bedding until it is the consistancy of a wet sponge wrung out. You can feed throughout just bury in different spots a few inches deep.
@florkle Yes, the worms will move to that spot for food, compost it, and then look for a new spot with food, so that when you take the compost out, the worms will be elsewhere in the bin and you don't lose composting worms to your garden :)

Very informative! I'm learning how to start my first compost and I am wondering why you put the food all in one spot? Is that important to do?
