I've not had a chance to play it yet, but from what I've seen of Dark Souls, it probably does deserve GOTY more. However, I still disagree with your views of Skyrim. The only real problem I have with it is I had to get an HD tv to be able to read anything on it.

There's a REASON that people go back even now and replay Morrowind and Oblivion... it's the IMMERSION experience. The Elder Scrolls Series wasn't meant to be consumed and crapped out like dumpy fast food, which is the way alot of gamers approach fantasy....it was meant to be experienced and appreciated.
The ES Series is timeless, because you can go back and immerse yourself again and again.
You're treating it like fast food when it deserves to be treated like a gourmet dinner.

For one, the game doesn't have the greatest of graphics because of the amount of information in the game. you have to give up graphics for the rest of the game. Also even if there is infinite side mission, so people like that.
