What healthyamerican? We all make mistakes........Being a Christian is work, that means spending time with GOD and Jesus. How do we do this? Well, it's spending time in reading THE WORD....If you spend 5 minutes in the book, yhat is what you get out of it from GOD himself. Try to spend and hour at least and one hour on your knees at prayer....I guarantee you will see results of your life, answers, desires, etc.. Try double the time.....you will be amazed!!!!!!
@healthyamerican Johnny Cash was an entertainer. He was also a Christian, who loved and cared about his fellow man. Your attitude is certainly not that of a Christian. Do you judge all performers by the songs they sing or the movie roles they play? Johnny had read his bible so many times he knew most of it from memory. He was never judgmental about the failings of others; he was an imperfect man and excepted that we are all sinners. Your comment isn't even worth consideration.
@turtlelucy .. i try to be christian and its my job for my own protection to make a sound judgment as to what i`m going to allow into my ears and eyes and heart and mind. its also simply my own opinion. there are young people who try to live through rock songs, so if the message in the song is about self destruction, then the entertainer is cetainly liable in my opinion as to the misleading of others.
It's just a song, he's telling a story here. And it doesn't matter what his beliefs were. I'm not religious and I listen to him(even the more gospel orientated stuff) because it's great music to listen to and it gives people hope as well as entertainment. I'm not a bible believer but I do live in hope that someone is watching out for me regardless.
@healthyamerican umm really anyways read the lyrics to folsom prison blues. second verse specifically. and then go fuck yourself cuz he's telling a story- not preaching.
Why the hell did CMT refuse to play this song? Probably because they figured all the idiot rednecks would heat it and then copycat this song in real life
How many times I wish there were performances like this available from today's artists.....no wait.....they don't play.....and they don't write.....and they don't sing without machines......hummmm......
THis is really great--Johnny unplugged and the power of his voice and musical ability is just straight out all there is and undeniable. Johnny lives forever through his songs that he left us and it may have been in the 1000's but it still wasn't enough. Always room and time for one more Johnny Cash song. Sorry to see the American Recordings series come to an end but guess it was inevitable.
the video for this song was banned bye MTV cause he kills delia he burys her. I wonder why kirsten dunst was playing deia- she had to be about 12-14. Why hasve someone that young playing his wife? still a great song
Brilliant! An ever changing artist till the end. Never just relaxing in his already famous reputation. Always searching always performing always writing always an artist! Johnny Cash, Artist, A True Musician
truly greatnes!!!

@AlexDCl He speaks his demons and yet tries to find peace. That's impressive. It's called being human which Johnny Cash was amazing at. RIP!

@MrPernell27 it was banned on CMT not MTV, MTV was the only station that would play it.

I think *every* Cash album is five stars!
No, I take that back.
Out of five stars, more like 10!
