A very good idea to develop other areas into modern cities, this way the country and people will have more equal opportunities to prosper. If you take developed nations they have 5-10 modern cities, hence the reason why those countries have more advanced societies , and better thinking citizens. So lets not limit the development to only Colombo Kandy... take it as far as possible. Cheers !!

Again im not against developing any area, i believe every part of the country should be developed equally but my point is that its not a smart option to develop an area and name it as a commercial capitol solely based on the fact that the president of the country is from that area.

I know I am probably gonna get stomped for this but i just have to, and im open to some constructive criticism but if its a fight you want i wont even bother replying.
So let me start, these are a set of questions i have for the people who support the concept of making Hambantota the 2nd commercial capital of Sri Lanka.
Okay first thing, how long do you think will it take to develop these areas ?
@thivanka77 Large constructions like building airports and seaports ,they gets around 5 years ,but a large project like a sea port it gets around 10 years to complete the full project !
@thivanka77 Starting a project is not only depend on the population ,the Hambantota port is the closest port for the shipping lane which goes closer to Sri Lanka's southern part ! if there is lowest population ,you can get it as an advantage,cause you don't need to relocate any building to use the area to these development projects and can you find larger flat lands to build an international air port any other place in Sri Lanka by without any cultivated land ?
I was really disappointed ,what has happened :( ,,,,,,,,,, but we will never get this as a lost,we can develop Hambantota 4 a world class city in the future !!!!!!
