Was actually written by Christian Petzold.
Bach had married Anna Magdalena, a 20 year old soprano singer and he wanted her to know contemporary music, so he made a note-booklet as a present for her. Obviously he liked Petzold's music and indeed, it is Bach's style.
So, while titled "Minuet in G Major" (BWV 114) and a dance in 2/3 timing it can bee seen as a love song, and the music group "The Toys" made the first modern version in 4/4 timing and with lyrics in the sixty's.
