@brendon0000, why not an LT series, you can just buy a used mid/late 90's camaro from craigslist for $3k and you'll have everything you need except the mounts and driveshaft

im set on ls1 for mine, but finding one thats affordable is tough, have to pull them from wrecking yards

I've done many sr swaps and an sr build as far as affordability goes the ls wins. To make a reliable 400 wheel out of my sr I had to spend a double what I spent on my 400 wheel ls. Not having to deal with boost leaks or other turbo related issues was a huge benefit as well although I did miss the turbo and bov sounds lol

Also wheel fitment was not a priority. Those were the wheels on the shell when I did the swap

@japcar513 Mount kit from sikky-1750, LS1 motor/tranny-3000 to 5000 this can vary greatly depending on milage and additional parts like wiring harness etc., plus another 1000 to 2000 trying to account for miscellaneous things like upgrading the fuel pump and other fun stuff. So starting from nothing around 10,000 as a ballpark number including the car if your doing the work yourself.

@ICM0n3y Might be cheaper to just get an LS1 depending on how much the (assuming) turbo kit you want is. I just threw a rod in my LS1 and found a new one with everything needed harness and everything for $1900, 66k miles. Turbo kits vary in price but are there really any *quality kits for < $1900? I'd safely say a kit lower than that price will just be a bunch of problems waiting to happen.
