Does anyone see the irony in having a laundry list of things a DEMOCRACY must do BEFORE we'll acknowledge its validity? What the general is saying is that Iraq only gets to be free when it demonstrates prostrate obedience to its occupiers. It does not get to elect a government that decides to reneg on the unfavorable oil contracts the puppet goverment negotiated, for example. Or one that tells us to leave, or democratically elects a shia theocracy. Sounds like 100 years to me.
