  • Sounds Paleo-esque, maybe Paleo for Athletes (carbs around training).

  • Will HIIT maintain muscle mass? I'm happy with my body but i got a fat belly that won't go away.

  • what about butter?

  • why the Fuck is it titled as HIIT workout....

had to sit through it for 8 minutes, without even a single fuckin mention on HIIT !!!

  • Egg yolks like a Motherfucker !!!!! ROFL xD

  • Good job! You made me laugh out loud! I had to show my wife. You are doing a good job youngman. Thanks for teaching me something and making us laugh.

  • my problem is i fart when i diet with rice quinoa etc.

  • i do bolth

  • how did u get your macros in if u didnt have any whole grains in your diet??

  • wait, so no bread, no oatmeal, no pasta?

  • There was an entire movie made on this topic. Elliot, you should check out Fat Head. But yeah, grains ruin your body. I've always been thin, but still had fat on my triceps and lower abs that never went away despite how much I was lifting or doing cardio. Then I cut all the high GI carbs out of my diet, especially grains, and now I have veins popping out of my abs. Even when I go crazy eating 200 grams of protein a day with 4.5K calories, my bodyfat hardly changes. Low carb is the way to go.

  • I'm sorry, did you talk about HIIT workouts at all?

  • YOO Elliot!!! where do you get your shirts?

  • Can you do HIIT in the mornings and Weight lifting in the afternoon? idk if its too much and it prevents from growing muscle? basically i want to to both, reduce my bodyfat and increase muscle idk if they can be done at the same time, thanks for the help!!

  • wat about carbs from peanut butter?

  • @123yutuber No bread, chips, cereal, muffins ect carbs from fruit, veggies, protein (which is peanut butter) is fine. I eat all my carbs in the morning and after workout THATS IT! Everything else is protein/fat

  • @RickyButler421 I'm not Elliot by the way. Just a Trainer that tunes in

  • So you introduced yourself to Saturated fats, thats great!. Did you read "eat fat loss fat'? Or saw "Fat head"?

  • Oats only contain gluten through cross-contamination. You can get gluten-free oats.

  • @templeofcoy True.. oats are ggreat for gettin ripped.. also sweet potato

  • Were you lifting? if so did you eat carbohydrates PWO? were fruit your morning and PWO foods?

  • It's sort of strange looking at these kinds of vids today when I'm not overweight any more - my dirty little secret is DietOramy diet program program (google it) - that thing certainly forced me to be completely transform my entire body, overall health as well as my whole life.

  • after i saw this video i started that diet. i followed it the way he said meat n veggies n eggs ( whites) n 1 yolk.prolly the best thing i done.

  • yo elliot im hungry now !!!

  • Were u eating small frequent meals, or big every 4 to 5 hour meals

  • what are good meats to eat

  • @solid5469 all meats that are natrual, forget about hot dogs and that junk shit

  • BEANO!!! LOL

  • Elliot i hope you get back to me on this but would you suggest a Cyclical keto diet for leaning up fast?

  • what kinds of foods would have these 'grains' in?

  • 3:50 reminded me of the atkins diet lol

  • wow... extreme ... grains seem to have more effects than i thought. now i can get my diet going^^

  • Great information! Do you, or have you ever counted calories? How many do you eat in a typical day?

  • Also, how long have you been eating the way you currently do?

  • @MarielLopez Yeah! It actually works! I myself also tried it and was totally satisfied.. I think you're referring to the diet site WeightLossAction.Info right?

  • very insightful thanks!

  • He looks like Phil Heath : )

  • Hey Elliot. This is my first post but I have been watching your videos like crazy. I am posting to tell you that I am gluten intolerant to the point that I have Celiac Disease. Thanks for the videos.

  • Subscribed

  • Me too... minus the farts. All i do is play basketball im cut the fuck up now.

  • I want that shirt!!! Where did you get it?

  • Elliot ..do you still eat potatoes Idahoes and sweet ones?

  • @hoogys yea it do.

  • What kind of meat we're talking about here? If it's fresh meat (cooked) of course. But if you're talking about processed meat such as hot dogs, bacons, hams... NO WAY... you'll die much faster from cancer. Those ain't meat.. those are chemical laced garbage.

  • "bad fat" diet? don't know about that as a balanced health decision.

  • Hey Elliot!! Did you find you lost any strength/muscle size after you cut out grains??

  • Great shirt!

  • Comment removed

  • Did you ever do more martial arts later on or were you too scarred? Great video, man

  • Meat by itself is a waste - (body needs carbs for energy and meat for amino acids), otherwise your body will take those proteins and use them for energy instead of using amino acids to build muscle. Salad+meat+cup of rice = great meal.

  • @nnossov He's not saying to completely remove carbs from your diets JUST GLUTEN GRAINS. If anything the natural starchy carbs is a better choice, yams, potatos, or beans.

  • @nnossov u dont need carbs at all, u could live your whole life without eating a single gram of carbs, and you would still be a fully functioning human

  • @nnossov yes to build muscle :) but to get lean you have to go low carbs, you will lose miscle but get very lean

  • I might add that I feel you.

Funny you talked about farts, my GF complains about it all the fraking time.. But my problem is love for cheese, and coffee.. On grains - little grain is needed. What most people overdo is eat too much grains WITH meat. Grains or breads with meat in one sitting is bad. Meat trully should be eaten only with fresh veggies.

  • Classic Nas beat. Ic you Elliot!

  • What did you go to college for dude, JW

  • @pwnagexing hospital administration. (ie bullshit)

  • @strengthcamp you blood type O?..lol

have you heard of those diets specific to blood type? Idk if there is any truth to it.

  • @strengthcamp this is the theory about food according to blood type...blood type O is the oldest blood group in human and reflects our primative hunter gatherer nature of eating what we can find, like nuts, fruits, and meats...blood type O are usually intolerant to griains because grians came after with agriculture...so idk..you sound like a hunter gatherer O like me.

So what is your diet exactly?..because apparently Os are not allowed certain fruits and no grains or pork.

  • My man. I'm basically a nerd who lifts but I feel great on a high fat, low carb "just real food" diet than I ever did on a "balanced" conventional diet of grains and skim milk.

  • And one more question can u use Suppliments for carbs ? if not eatin any grains

  • @Z6LI well... if it is a carb supplement, then that means it has carbs in it... or am i misunderstanding your question?

  • @strengthcamp yeah of course it has carbs on, but if you dont eat rice and stuff (grains), but you eat carbs from the suppliments can i get the same results as you, i dont think they have glutein in those,

  • and what about veggies that cause bloating and gas like broccoli, cauliflowers, beans, etc. Do you stay away from them?

  • @Paparmane only if you find that it irritates your gut... not everyone does.

  • And also, when you mention that some people need carbs because of their genetic function, I have a suggestion.

For those people, they should do carb cycling. It make sense doesn't it?

  • @orochimaruisugly i tend to cycle as well.

  • Hey elliot it kind of sounds like you're doing the advanced ketogenic diet. Only fibrous carbs, more fat and more protein.

Your body goes into ketosis state to burn fat off. Is that what you're doing?|

PS love your channel buddy keep it up!

  • @orochimaruisugly aaahh, not really... i tend to "cheat" on the weekends which would break ketosis.

  • @strengthcamp Actually that's the best time to cheat. Your body needs a carb re-feed after about 5 days or so if you're already pretty lean.

  • low carb high fiber/protein/fats

  • Sick info well looks like no more grains for me. Since you are eating so many eggs have you gone to the doctor to check out you cholesterol level? Is it good or bad or what? I eat 14 whole eggs a week.

  • @LifeFitness420 last time it was check while I was on this diet the nurse was SHOCKED at how good it was!

  • Yo Elliot! how much did you lose weight while not eating grains ?? please answer

  • @Z6LI I've lost about 50 pounds over the past year... but my diet has varied.

  • Yo Elliot how da hell you gonna make us pay $200 to get into your strengthology class?!

  • @swoleneck I'm not making anyone do anything... but people who are serious about learning my best methods for strength and vitality are more than happy to invest in this type of education.

  • @strengthcamp I am very serious about learning your methods...I've watched literally all of your videos to date. It's just that I'm a college student and I don't necessarily have 200 bucks to blow . Hell, after watching your Occupy Wall Street video I should probably just drop out of college and pay for your classes. That's a good ass idea!

  • nice shirt.

  • I was planning on eating more eggs for breakfast but people keep telling me not to eat to much do to cholesterol. in the video you said you egg 12 egg yolks a day. I want to eat more eggs to but i just want some info to back it up.

  • question about the coconut oil what do you put it on in you diet,do you cook with it put it me your shakes and you food. what are the ways your use it in you foods

  • I agree totally with cutting carbs, but when i did this in the past i had no energy while strength training, and lost a shit load of muscle. How do you prevent this?

  • im 16 and i am following the reloaded program diet just with a few adjustments no fasting for me and oatmeal in most of my protein shakes and i am doing great energy leves are perfect i out sprint bigger guys by 50 meters i can run 50 minutes straight do my chin ups and dips and am ripped as hell

  • Primal Blueprint / Paleo, HIIT, and intermittent fasting for the win.

  • This is called a ketogenic diet, this will cause your body to use your fat as a energy source instead of carbs, by doing this itll help burn your bodyfat as well. Some people will notice radical changes, others won't see a difference

  • I haven't eaten any bread in about a week, and I've been in a ridiculously good mood lately. I'm less irritable, I sleep better and I feel more balanced throughout the day.

  • Elliot you should put up an eating journal for yourself based on a weeks worth of what you eat. That would be really interesting to see.

  • Yo Elliot is it possible to build muscle on a keto diet long term.

  • what organs do you eat for meat?

  • how is vince gironda a good friend of yours, he died 14 years ago???

  • @73kingofkings73 please re-watch the video....

  • @strengthcamp ha yeh I see I was wrong now, and sound advice im lookin into this diet technique for the future

  • @73kingofkings73 bro he said 'a good friend of mine republished his stuff' :\ try listening

  • @yassira31 yeh I realise that now, try reading my reply back to him

  • @73kingofkings73 he said a "good friend of mine just republished his books", not the vince gironda was his good friend.

  • I always thought oats was one of the better carb sources for us peeps LOL. It is so funny I watched this vid now cause I am a big oat eater but been off it for cpl months now and did notice i barely farted lol but chalked it up to the fact that i was also eating a lot less food in general since i am on a fat burning diet and wo regimen I learned something new today thanks to you again Elliott Have not been on here for a while and I did miss ur vids you are a great helpful guy :)

  • "Turn off your brain" ... interesting quote. Why do you have it up?

  • @GetItLifestyle shut off emotions and focus on workout, i think.

  • I have kind of a strange question. Were you getting lots of headaches when you were eating grains? And now that you've stopped eating grains do you ever get headaches?

  • Sick t-shirt bro!

  • "why we get fat and what to do about it" by Gary Taubes is a great book that advocates most of what you are discussing in this video.

  • Oh and to answer some people's questions they may have about why i said "and sometimes oats" that contain gluten. Oats do not actually contain gluten, but what happens is that wheat and oats are both produced on the same factories, therefore cross contamination takes effect and the oats now have gluten on them. To fix this problem, there are actually Strictly gluten free oats that were made on factories only for oats, and those are the ones you all should choose if you want oatmeal.

  • Oh and i forgot to mention, if you do have Celiac, and you go on the gluten free diet, your villi will grow back which is what allows you to grow and gain weight again, but you have to stay strict to your diet.

  • ...which is a reason i believe can help lower the amount of people that end up having it later on in their life.

Wanted to inform you and hopefully many other that read this and watch your video, so that they might find this is a solution to a health problem they have or any other problem such as your farting one. Great video again! Thanks Elliot!

  • ... therefore resulting in the inability to gain weight and grow height wise. Once i went on a gluten free diet after being diagnosed with Celiac Disease, i grew 8 inches in a little over year and put on 35 pounds (around 25 pounds of muscle) because my body finally started to correctly receive the nutrients it had been lacking for the years before. It really is amazing how much it can change you. Having Celiac can increase your risk of diabetes if you are unaware that you have it...

  • ...but in fact, eating gluten did not allow me to grow AND gain weight, which could be a major problem, a lot of people out there watching this video have and they don't know about it. What happens is that the gluten you eat (as far as the people that eat it and it makes them malnutritioned) it goes to your small intestine and the hair-like structures in your intestine named "villi" which when the gluten is ingested, it kind of "shaves" them down and they no longer receive any nutrients...

  • Great Video Elliot! I have Celiac Disease, which is in fact the actual medical name given to people that cannot have gluten and are more than gluten intolerant. Most people diagnosed with Celiac throw up or have stomach problems because what happens is that your small intestine recognizes the protein "gluten" found in wheat, rye, barley, and sometimes oats and your intestine thinks it is bad such as your body does with a virus, therefore resulting in people throwing up. I didn't have that......

  • Good video E, thanks mann!!! Gonna try it!!

  • What martial arts was it? Just curious.

  • Hey Elliot, I really appreciate all of your video's man, finally someone on youtube who gives free and awesome argumented advises to people, respect, seriously.

Anyway, I got a small question for you. In this (and also other video's) you 'promote' eating eggs. Now I eat eggs everyday aswell, about 12 a day too, but I don't eat all yolks. Please, explain me how the cholesterol thing works. So many people claim it's too much anyway. Free my from all the 'broscience'. Thanks in advance!

  • is there a long term health risk to such a high level of fat? are the staturated fats bad for you?

  • @merlachner Get your fats from fish, avocado and nuts and it shouldnt be a problem.

  • hey Elliot how long can you stay on this diet just eating meat, veggies, fats, fruits is it ok to do for a long period of time like 2-3 months or longer.

  • @marcus23332333 i did it for 3 years straight. 2002-2005 ish

  • @marcus23332333 All native americans ate were meats and berrys haha so a long time

  • the link at 1:09 is not a facebook page elliot you should put in the proper one so everyone can see

  • honestly dude, nearly all your videos are relevant to me

    you're the man!!!

  • Been on the anabolic diet for ~ 6 months now. Works super well for my body and without any cardio keeps me at ~9% BF. Unfortunately the farting thing I totally understand.... After the carb up weekend (either 1 or 2 days depending how I felt) I would fart like a motherfucker. Might be gluten resistant so its time to look into that.

    As per usual,

thanks for the awesome video Elliot

  • the tee shirt is the best part of the video.

  • very helpful!

  • yo Elliot! take a vid of what you keep in the fridge.

  • Hey Elliot, great Video! Ive just started my diet, with no grains! All meat and vegetables, but i have a question, Do beans have gluten? or are they safe to include in my diet?

  • @gymcandy156 no gluten in beans... you're good to go.

  • @strengthcamp Thanks alot!!

  • Just some quick advice for anyone out there; sign up for these e-mails. Seriously, I have learned SO much from these free e-mails I get from Mike and Elliot. Thanks Mike and Elliot, between diet info and muscle building info, I believe you guys are Genius'. Wish I could come out and train with you.

  • You said Browse to fast what is it again?

  • @SmallSteps3000 barley, rye, oats, wheat, spelt.

  • @strengthcamp

i was wondering if your body type is very thin naturally and using gluten packed oats to gain have helped me, if i still want to gain mass without gluten what would you recommend i eat?

  • Meh. More "Old School" dogma. Just what everyone needs (!)

  • Good video, i cut out grains last year. I'm surprised you didn't mention sweet potatoes, maybe you forgot about these wonders of the food world, i'm sure you advocate sweet potatoes as a healthy carb source.

  • @runtinsweet YES, great points. thanks!

  • @strengthcamp That diet Sounds a lot like ketosis...without the extreme fat intake.

Also...Do you stand by those websites? interested in the sprint trainer...but swea to tha sand if i get a virus from it...im coming after you...Not hand to hand of course(That would be too risky), but with .308 bullets and a LOT of Jack3d(Gotta stay awake on those long stakeouts)

  • going for torn bicep surgery next week, they are going to attach my bicep back to my forearm with 2 screws.can you put up a work out plan to get me back on track

  • Yo, Elliot what about the anabolic diet? Or should I ask do u ever carb up or our u on high fat/protein exclusively? Also what about pwo nutrition? Thanks in advance!

  • @reddmuse that pretty much the closest thing to what you could say i am doing. i dont "carb up" though, I'll just increase a bit on the weekends but not too much.... that works for me, but you have to try for yourself to see what works for you.

  • dude so i shouldent have my oatmeal more veg and meat?

  • @MYP90X2011 its not that..

he couldnt have oatmeal cause it gave him gas.

oatmeal is good for you but for many the gluten in it has a bad reaction.

it gives me gas too thats why i dont eat it all the time but i do eat it.

  • And elliot, what about nuts+seeds (without extra salt)? They are high in 1. fat 2. protein (usually not a full amino acid profile, but a combination of nuts makes a decent one). Should be well with your current diet.

  • @SinisterSkip i eat a lot of almonds.

  • Comment removed

  • @dbzcrusader then THAT should work well for you.

  • @strengthcamp Thanks!

  • Comment removed

  • Elliot, what's your take on saturated animal fats? It's often linked to all kinds of cancer (unlike saturated plant fats like olive oil/coconut oil).

  • @SinisterSkip its the quality of the meat from which the fats come from... conventional vs. organic.

  • It's proven more and more in new studies, if you wanna cut something from your diet for fatloss: cut the carbs. Fat and protein don't increase your insuline levels as much as carbs (especially simple carbs, to remove insuline spikes), so first thing always.

  • eat raw food, very very little carbs, mostly only fruits.. keep eating good fats

  • where would you get coconut oil? i can't find it in the grocery stores

  • @nobrains911 GNC, Vitamin Shoppe, etc.

  • You have mentioned in the past that if you are having trouble gaining weight then eat brown rice (a ton of it). Do you still feel like this is good advice? If not brown rice to gain weight, then what?

    Great video. Good info. Thanks.

  • @yyportne YES! still very good advice for gaining mass.

  • bro plz make a specific video in which you explain and give exercises/stretches/or tips to improve our body alignment/posture ..... !!

  • 12 egg yolks?? i know that too much egg yolks is not sooo healthy

  • So you are currently doing a paleolithic diet? I agree with taking coconut oil. I started using it for it's anti fungal properties because I had a fungal outbreak on my lower back. Had to come from within my body eh? So I just assumed it was candida albicans in my intestines. Skin smelled rank for the time that I spent pretty much eating fat and protein. No fermented foods (yes beer) and minimal sugar as it feeds the yeast.

  • @Parsons51 pretty much, yes.

  • Sounds like you are eating a primal meal plan????

  • im losing fat with 200 grams of carbs a day. eating snickers and whatnot.

just stay under your caloric limit and YOU WILL LOSE FAT.

  • @churde wow! "The Snickers Diet" -- you would make a fortune marketing that one!

  • Yo Elliot, when you say you eat 60% Fat, I take it you mean you're getting 60% of your daily calories from fat. What percentage of your remaining calories do you get from Carbs and Protien?

  • :) cooL

  • 60% fats. are you implying ZERO carbs or little carbs? you didn't once say the word ketosis / ketogenic, yet you spoke of burning fat for energy rather than glycogen. so is this a ketogenic diet you're talking about elliot because I've done ketosis before and anything HIIT related is a no-no as you cannot be explosive running on ketones rather than glycogen. i am presuming just very carb restricted?

  • @soseg to me it looked like he was getting carbs from vegetables and fruits(mostly) and rice/mb pasta(close to workouts). He just kept them a little lower than usual by eleminating the GLUTEN-containing carb foods(wheat etc.)
