  • This is definitely the number one "guy scream" in cinema today. My vote for number two is Thomas Jane's at the end of "The Mist".

  • This is how I felt 7/2010 when my neroligiast told me that I have MS, I'm still shocked and pissed to this day about it !!!!!

  • This is the most badass sound.

  • 2girls1cup reaction

  • @soberchimera61:

Yeah the only thing great about Superman Returns was Kevin Spacey as Lex Luthor. >:-)

  • this is how I feel when I wake up and realize I have to go to work at 4:30 in the morning.

  • this is a great actor!!!

  • Zack Snyder you better be taking notes for Man of Steel because if that is a load of shit like Superman Returns not only will this be my reaction but I'm coming straight for you!

  • This scene continues to have a tremendous emotional impact on me after 30 yrs...

  • Brandon Routh's reaction when He discovered He wouldn't be returning to the role, and that Henry Cavill had been cast instead.

  • I think this beats the dbz powerups.

  • He just saw Superman Returns.

  • @soberchimera61 LOOOOL!!!

  • my reaction to hearing Christopher Reeves had passed away

  • Thats how i do my ex gf

  • My reaction to Green Lantern and the Batman reboot anouncement.

  • @Zombie5095 Cool:)

  • That must of been one fookin loud scream @_@

  • @Zombie5095 Cuz she's DEAD

  • that scream would have echoed the planet at least seven times.

  • I agree with some comments here that whilst Chris Reeve gave us perhaps the most gentle version of Superman onscreen here and as Evil Superman in the third movie there is no other actor who could also convince us how potentially scary and terrifying he could be when angered.

  • my response to Futurama getting cancelled

  • my eyes tear up and my heart races everytime i see this. Its the best source of release from stress and anxiety for me. Thank you for posting this. Christopher Reeve was and is my ultimate hero!!!

  • I think everyone on the west coast and probably most of American would have heard that scream!

  • This movie is timeless!!!! Superman The Movie beats TDK, spiderman and iron man easily and easily!!

  • It's history's best MAN SCREAM !

  • I full-blasted the audio on my 15.1 speaker surround sound THX ultra 5 system with Bose speakers when Superman screamed in that same scene! lol

  • lmao

  • I wonder if they held the scream for a second or two longer...

  • I you ever see Superman heading toward you like that.....you get out of the way!

  • @raith0818 I don't think you'd be fast enough

  • @raith0818 If you ever see Superman heading towards you like that... you're already dead. :(

  • What makes this the greatest scream in movie history, and greatest moment in CBM history: The acting. Reeves shows a huge range of emotions in this segment. The fact that Supes gets pissed. We've never seen him enraged. I feel no one could beat him at that point. Plus, the scream in instantly echoing and very loud. Instant impact!

Reeves is the best. I feel his portrayal of SM could beat anyone out there right now in any CBM.

    My opinions.

  • if only superman could of reversed time for another 70 years, we could of avoid Nazi Germany and the death camps... what a selfish super hero!

  • I'm sorry I had to laugh; not because Lois died or anything like that, but because my mother-in-law said this is what my husband's scream was like when his beloved dog died. A scream like THAT over a dog???

  • Is it me or does he say at 0:04 Shit ?!?

  • @ZeonTec By reading his lips, it sure does look like it!

  • superman just found out that europe will get duke nuken before america

  • One of the best things about this scene is it's the only time we've ever seen Superman truly enraged.

  • This was his reaction when he read the script for Superman 3.

  • @THEremiXFACTOR You mean Superman IV...

  • @THEremiXFACTOR OMG!!! this made laugh so hard XD

  • @THEremiXFACTOR Superman 4?

  • @NewSuperAvenger he wrote the script for superman 4, either that or worked behind the camera o.o

  • This scream is the only scream better than James T. Kirk's "KAHN!!!!"

  • Awesome, def best movie scream ever!!!

  • Power, I know the terror, so don't even try.

  • The man had made a fatal mistake, the one person he loved he couldn't save, that would kill anyone dead inside

  • Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't he goes on to REVERSE THE ROTATION OF THE EARTH TO MAKE THE TIME FLOW BACKWARDS immediately after this scene? Kinda ruins the drama.

  • @premier6666 Actually, no. He flew beyond the speed of light and broke the time barrier. The ''spinning backwards'' thing was a visual aid for the public that was misinterpreted.

Not that it makes THAT much more sense, comparatively, but... we take what realism we can get from these kinds of things.

  • @RedAviary ooooooh okay. That makes more sense. Slightly more sense at leastt. It was still a goofy scene, that ruined the emotion of this one.

  • this is how i felt when my friend died

  • This is how I feel every day when I see all the new films that are made strictly for mindless 8 year old Twi-fags, and I wish I could fly around the world and reverse time and live in the late 70's-80's or something. (the 80's-99' were the best time to be alive, they weren't afraid to try anything in their movies.) even now, I go on amazon and I'm just amazed at all the different plots they had back then, plots that the pussies today would never go for because it was offensive to like, ONE GUY.

  • BEST SCREAM EVER

  • this is one intense emotional scream you can just feel it

  • I feel like this alot.

  • This scene is one of my favorites, One of the few times real emotion is shown by a superhero in a movie and its just perfect.

  • what can you say about this scene that hasn't been said already. The stars aligned for this movie and this scene showed the world that superhero movies can be serious and intense. Thank you to all the parties involved

  • Smallville Tom Welling Superman should do ths kind of epic scream sumthing happen to Lois Lane in the finale with darkseid :) good Idea

  • what would have really been cool is if that scream was heard reverberating around the the world. superman indeed

  • greatest scream and superman ever! He is missed.

  • the 1 scream that all peaple that have had a loved 1 who died wished thay can do.

  • one of the best scenes ever. this scene still gives me the chills.

  • Im telling you this is EXACTLY what I want to see out of the next Superman, whomever that may be. Emotion. This was an excellent scene that really brings the man, myth, legend down to human level. Favorite part in that movie and TheDog8873 nailed it: The deepest moment in Superman history.

  • it's amazing how this one scream alone inspired an idea in my mind today.

  • 0:09 is he german? "Vwaaa!"

  • why do the superman theme, i'd do the jaws theme

  • Comment removed

  • That's funny, I had this exact same reaction last night when I left my office and saw my car had a flat tire.

  • @Vikkisnake did you spin the earth backwards so you could beat up the guy that was slashing it

  • Thau ruined this scene with his goddamn whooshes!

  • great scene love all the superman films

  • Epic! This scene has always given me goosebumps on top of my goosebumps!

  • Seems like the earthquake stopped as soon as it hit Lois's car.

Almost as if she was an "intended" target.

  • Still the best and deepest moment in superman history

  • That's how scream every time I drop my toast butter side down.

  • dont make superman angry, otherwise he will kick ur ass!

  • so funny

    almost wet my self

  • that scream gives me goosebumps. show's that the man of steel can be hurt not by kryptonite. but the death of the one he loves.

  • Weird, I act the same way when I watch Superman Returns.

  • Brings tears to my eyes. RIP Mr. Reeve

  • The only other scream to come close to this was the silent scream from AL Pacino in the God Father!

  • I LOVE this!!! It's really weird how a whole bunch of people will be drawn to things like this, but ever since I first saw this scene and that SUPER yell, I have to agree it iS the greatest scream in the history of film making!!! lol Are we all "weird" for liking this so much???? idk, but who cares!!

  • Chris and Margot will always be the definitive Superman and Lois. Sorry, Brandon and Kate, but your'e not shit.

  • the dark knight may be the greatest comic book movie of all time, but I doubt that it will ever gain a life as a classic like this movie did.

Plus, when Batman yells I don't feel the intensity that Christopher Reeve had.

  • SOOO brutally powerful. Never a more defining moment of painful masculine emotion in Hollywood history.

This kind of makes Capt. Kirk's "Khan!!!" look like a mouse sneeze.

    RIP Christopher Reeve.

  • @gregxiu ooo..... its a very god scene, but Kirk screaming Kahn's name will always be number 1 for me

  • No one will EVER forget Christopher Reeves. RIP Chris Reeves

  • Probably the only time Superman has ever seemed terrifying.

  • Damn....gave me the creaps in high volume...I miss Christopher Reeve´s character :(

  • @freak8385 miss him! miss him!? there's no superman without him. He gave superman that untouchable persona.

  • i remember this always. When i realized i lost my best friend not by death but out of my life...i stuttered like he did at the begining of his scream then i went to find a empty public restroom which was the nearest place i could find quick and i actually screamed just like this...it's acting and a movie of a well loved superhero, but, he captured the pain and heart wrench everything into this scream Christopher Reeves did,,, it signifys that feeling, of being truely alone..great scream passion

  • @StoryOfUsFinalDraft I cry at the Fact MY Brother Died and I Had a big Part in that. I Want Justice Done. I love God and Hope that someday me And Darrin will reunite Again, True Story... ;)

  • This scream would SCARE me to death when I was little...EPIC!!!!

  • tearing up my heart everytime i hear it !

  • YES!! I remember seeing this in the movies. His scream made by blood run cold. The pain...the grief when he thought Lois was dead. Check out how he slightly shakes with fury.

And then to turn back time by reversing the orbit of the planet. ASTOUNDING!! Thanxx for posting this.

  • all i can think of seeing this is imagining him sitting and looking at his legs and realizing he is paralyzed and screams NOOOOOO!! poor chris reeve ;-( ironic that he played SUPER man and then became paralyzed in real life.. =/ he really must have been screaming just like this looking all around and thinking Why ?why? then scream!

  • that's how I screamed when I had this great big huge shit one time

  • LOLOL, I love this scene but LDK your comment has my laughing so hard I think my bladder is going to burst! hahahahaha

  • lol me too man XD

  • @LDKBBAB LMAO!!!

  • I have never seen anyone actually pull of the scream like he did. You freakin feel his pain when he finds Lois dead.

  • There will never be another Superman like Chris Reeve! He was the greatest!

  • every time i watch this movie this part gives me goosebumps. it shows how much you really shouldnt piss superman off.

  • @kevonicus oh god. imagine him flying THAT pissed of in your direction and your name is fucking lex luthor.....

  • Gives me goosebumps...makes you feel powerful in a way!!

  • This is freakin great and I love this movie but what hell were they thinking when they did this scene, lol.

  • They wanted to show how much superman was affected by lois's death. Simple as that.

  • @Winchester93 is supposed to show that he is now truly alone

  • i shat myself. this is scary. awsome scene with great emotion

  • Still gives me chills everytime I hear it.

  • One of the few moments that Superman is genuinely scary.

  • @MMTrigger agree makes you wonder what earth would have been like had superman been evil instead of good.

  • I love that scream!

  • Hhah Greatest scream in film history

  • This is very cool, the most intense scene in this movie the framing and everything in this scenes serves to help take this movie to another level. Thanx for the up
