2007 Honda Accord Review

To answer this poor reviewers question "Why do Hondas make a whining sound when in reverse?". It is actually a widely unknown safety feature. The whining sound is so pedestrians, and maybe even cars know you're backing toward them. I have a 2007 Accord, and I have never liked that noise. I can get over that though, becasue you dont back up often... and id rather own a Honda than any other car. RELIABILITY AND QUALITY!!

btw your car is a 2006 honda accord LX with DOHC IVTEC 166hp with 24 city mpg and 34 hwy. you should read the reviews more clearly since what you just explained for this cm5, the info goes to the 2008 and up honda accords cp2.

Im sorry, but this fool is "reviewing" cars when he knows nothing about them. First of all, the "whining" sound Honda's make when reversing is a pedestrian safety feature. The sound informs those nearby that something is coming (that the driver might not see). Then- this guy says "a gear shifter that shifts smoothly, and it sounds so amateur. I have never driven a modern automatic car IN MY LIFE that didn't shift smoothly (unless we are talking manual transmission, which we aren't)

The sound it makes in reverse is due to the gear being straight-cut, meaning the teeth aren't tilted at in angle. Forward gears are at an angle so they don't make this noise, and the reason they really didn't bother with reverse is really, who's going to drive backwards for more than at most thirty seconds?

Honda's reverse gears aren't alone in this: Most cars' reverse gears are like that.

Wait..what? In one of your earlier comments you stated that "after 60 it was a dog and it was hard passing people on the highway". I strongly disagree with that comment. I have absolutely no trouble zooming up to 90 mph on the freeway (I own the exact same model featured in the video). I think maybe your inability to pass people doing 60 has nothing to do with the car and everything to do with your driving.

That 5k rev limiter is just for park and neutral. I think to avoid damaging the torque converter, a lot of newer cars have them (at 4k or 5k, lower than the actual redline). In gear, the rev limiter is somewhere in the high 6k range I believe. Nice review!

Yeah, that's understandable for a 4 cylinder, as good as Honda's 4 cylinders are. You should test out the V6 model, it's better for highway passing and quicker in general, but the fuel economy is not as good (the usual tradeoff between a 4 cylinder and V6 engine).
