  • just pay the 2 dollars, it will save you hundereds

  • I wish these things were installed in every intersection, too many people run redlights as it is.

  • I don't find these barriers really useful. You can travel fast and flawlessly using the basic traffic rules. Places where these barriers are used must be really fu**ed up...

  • So why was the smaller red truck let through, but the bigger white one wasn't? Genuinely curious :c

  • @AuitZ The red one was a Royal Mail Post van. I assume they are allowed to use bus lanes too. They have to get mail out on time after all, which would probably be impossible in London traffic

  • @banotine Ah, that makes sense c:

  • Wow, did you notice that guy at the end broke his windshield with his head?

  • damn, that last one broke the window with his head. that got to hurt

  • @hakujinn009 what kind of moron? at the start if u didn't see, they had a warning which is BIG AND BRIGHT! and how do u plan to drive if you won't look out for signs? they deserve this punishment, it's their own fault

  • one of the cars had kids in the back... if you are trying to trick a BARRIER with kids in your car... uggghhhh

  • i think that car at 1:40 should have been let through

  • The trick is to push down on the barriers, they will retract.

In the US a lot of government buildings were equipped with this type of thing.

When some German government official and the vice president were injured in a limo crash it was decided to route all oversize vehicles around them.

After a few fatal accidents it was decided to discontinue use altogether.

Note that in every fatal accident the user was authorized.

Failing that, epoxy paint it while it is up.

  • One of those times I can laugh at the misfortunes of others and not feel bad about it.

  • Mum: WTF?! (Steps 100000000 Steps Back)

    LOLZ!

  • @robandhelenmcfarlane More like

    Car hits barrier

    [much time passes]

    Mom steps back

  • My favo moment is when her head hits the steering wheel @ 0.47 and then her reakoning she had made a mistake. @ 0.49

  • hahaha I love these things, people are dumb

  • it's about time we started locking up the Council fuckers who install these

  • that's karma bitch !

  • i think they should make some at mexico borders too. if u know what i mean lol

  • wow they some stupid drivers. lol

  • STUPID AND USELESS INVENTED !!!!

  • 1:07 ROFL damn she tried her ass off lmaoooooo

  • Pity the kids in the back seats @ 1:16. Hope their folks didn't pass on the wrong genes.

  • hahahah

  • thats fucknig dangerous. Hope its been removed.

  • @SeducemeHard The signs say NO CARS so what is dangerous about it unless you have an idiot behind the wheel. Anyone who hits it should be banned from driving until they pass their test again.

  • @SeducemeHard its not dangerous, the drivers are dangerous for not paying proper attention to road signs

  • hahahahaha.

  • LOL those cars got smashed.

    AND THERE NOT ASIAN LOL!

  • The stupidity of the human race never cesses to amaze me

  • LOL!

  • hahaha stupid stupid

  • idiots LOL !!!!!!!!

  • retards theyare everywhere :)

  • That could seriously kill someone

  • haha dumbasses!

  • They are fuckin stupid. I saw a bloke fall and hurt himself when one popped up.

And on the clip when the car bounces it could easily hurt a pedestrian.

  • stupid dumbfucks who think they're smart and know how it all works.

  • OMG Seriously? LOL!

  • Not sure what's worse, the drivers or the system which destroys cars that might occasionally follow a bus through.

  • Wow, that last guy hit the windshield. The start of a bad day huh?

  • that woman in the blacvk 4x4 should know better trying that with a young child in the back

  • @MrLpm555 The man was driving...

  • LOL!! Is a pay-to-get-in location? Seems they're trying to "sneak in" after the posts drop for someone else!

  • silly design. Begging for lawsuits

  • Desription reads that it only lets buses through. How come the van didn't get through? Maybe it was a van, not a bus, but still. It must have a sensor that goes by height or weight.

  • They let through buses, taxis, work vehicles basically and not general traffic.

  • The grey car comes back, thought he could out smart it when the green bus comes through. He couldn't drive anyways, cause he nearly went all up on the curb anyway. Silly brits

  • retards

  • seems like a stupid system

  • Brilliant this is in manchester, and the reason the red van can get through at the end is because its a royal mail van which is allowed to enter that part of city centre, But look at the driver of white van through not wearing a seatbelt smash against the window screen at end, classic

  • at the end the same car was passing like the red van had a coice but how come the even same van the white one cant pass !

  • I love it when smart arses who think they're sharp, get a little justice.

  • silly little brits lololol

  • yea derekfcc they all know the score so why try beat it they know they cant just dumb

  • hurry hurry!!! fools

  • Comment removed

  • If I wasn't familiar with the area/didn't see the sign and one of these messed up my car I'd come back late at night and melt the fucker down.

    Death to traffic barriers, LOL!

  • love the Tijuana Brass. great music for a great vid

  • That system is so Stupid!

I mean those things doesnt work for at all!!!

  • i laughed so hard. the person is obviously trying to make it in before the posts. you can see them accelerate as they slam on the gas right after the bus clears the area.

  • did the baby died?

  • yes its head got crushed

  • that's a class action lawsuit here in the states!!!

  • this is nothing but funny! why is there so much talk of why it happend? you guys 10 or something...??

  • Wow, those posts come back up rather quickly! This is what happens when you try to beat the system, I suppose.

  • if everyone noticed the people were speeding up to take a short cut through the barriers, they were clearly for busses only but some people are to impatient and to lazy to go the normall route around and instead tried to cheat the system by going through the barriers before they came up, they are sign posted quite clearly, maybe if people took the time to actually read things rather than rush into things then maybe they wouldnt end up damaging there cars.

  • That system is stupid, if i have an accident i sue the responsable.

  • it will be clearly sign posted no cars...

  • The responsible (spelled correctly) would be you, because you shouldn't try and go through that route, it's for buses only.

  • HUM dont know that the rout is only for buses.

  • If you were visiting that place, you would have no idea how those things work. I bet some of those folks were visitors to that town.

  • @hopeurfree If you have a licence it's assumed you have a familiarity with the highway code and the sign which says Buses Only!

  • @mecotterill Not if you are visiting from America. Our signs are certainly different from the ones in Italy, I don't know about Britain. I would assume yours are different. People visiting your country can easily get a license to drive without knowing all the signs.

  • and ppl say americans are bad drivers...

  • @G0dF0ther I can tell you from having lived in both the U.S. and Europe, Americans are BY FAR better drivers. Europeans drive like a bunch of imbeciles.

  • @0megaM00 what about germany?

  • @G0dF0ther if america had this i bet you some people would try this kinda shit

  • @G0dF0ther That's not bad driving, just being idiot while thinking to be smart.

  • Stupid people indeed. But then, why traffic barriers, aren't there enough forced detours : P

  • People trying to take a short cut and rip TAX payers off, surves them right.

  • You can't blame it all on the dumbass drivers the goverment should have seen this coming they actually have to put a warning label on engine belts that say 'Be sure to turn engine off before removing and installing'.

  • there was a toddler in that car! thats not cool...

its a good concept, but its not worth risking the health of an innocent child, just b/c the driver is an idiot...im sure they could come up with something more safe...fold down arm, spike strips, anything really...

  • thats a stupid traffic system right there and i dont even need to explain why

  • WHAT IS WRONG WITH SOME PEOPLE?

  • great stuff loved it ..

  • serves them right

  • silly van driver, no seatbelt!!

  • LOVED THE LAST ONE!!

  • μαλακες

  • i think they should be sued for this even though they arnt sopposed to enter it is not really visible enough, as its just rising and its way to disctrive to the vehicle it should be used in cobo with the arm and it takes to long for it to go down a spike strip is better if combined with an arm is that if you mess up its only kills your wheels which is cheaper than replacing your front axle bumber plates and stuff
  • You can't see it from this angle but there is a traffic light/sign for it. This is great, takes some bad drivers off the road by force.

  • automatic traffic barrier must be cut.........that's right lol?????

  • LMAO idiots i live by one of these (not one in the vid) and loads of people try to get through them they always get caught on them hahahaha

  • Anybody who lives close by know how often this happens? Just curious

  • LOL This is great . Loved the first one most

  • Wouldn't tire spike be just a little bit safer?

  • I bet matey in the van at the end had a headache. His head smashed the windscreen! What a tool! They are dangerous though and shouldn't come up like that.

  • hahahaha dumb fucks

  • LOL .......

  • It:s the people here who are stupid.. the barrier is... It is the most idiotic and dangerous things ive seen in a while.. I wonder who made money on it.

  • The barrier say's NO. lol

  • haha there are equivalents to this in the us every day

  • The second to the last one bothered me. That mom driving her van trying to cheat by sneaking through the bus lane, didn't care about her kid until after the accident. I see parents, male and female do things like that all the time with their kids in the car. Don't they care about their little ones, or are they just too impatient to care?

  • stupid bird brains! take them out back and kill them

  • only in europe can u have drivers this bad

  • if those things were in the US people would be freaking out here, they'd be saying "it's not human" "It's racism" " it's this, is that" they do nothing but complaint here, and think they are the best drivers specially in NYC where i live.

  • Did somebody hack it yet?

  • right... u can see how quick the barior comes up. speeding at the raising barior. u really think u can get the whole car over it before it hits it?? haha!

  • Yes it is in th UK, stupid fucking government they try to tax us with anything and everything we do or buy. GRRRRR!!!! I am only 18 though so i pay no tax at the moment yay!!.

See the bloke at 1:43 he broke his windscreen !!!

  • _/=|_ *KEEP YOUR CAR SAFE*

'O--O Please watch 'CRIMINALS OPERATE IN THIS CAR PARK'

  • The only dumb ones are the Orwellian Traffic designers and the who ever videod this, is it official footage.

What country is it? England seeks to tax the hell out of motorists, so I'd guess there?

  • This shyt is crazy. it looked like those people really got hurt. how stupid! if those lane are only for buses n utility vehicles y be so stupid n try to by-pass or trick the system... Fukin dumbasses!

  • I always see stuff like this on international flights.

  • Well I must say that this is indeed an odd design...

  • whats the point for this traffic barrier?...

  • It's a reserved bus lane and since some drivers are absolute morons, they try to drive on them despite the warning signs. These barriers allow buses through while blocking car traffic.

  • One way to learn a lesson.

  • at least the airbags worked---but fucking stupid doin it

  • This is a very stupid design. I can see where people could think they could drive threw this lane. That liitle girl looked frightened and her father hurt. Someone needs to re-think this plan.

  • what???? they knew, just look how fast they were going!

  • What ever pal, I hope you never reap what you sow.

  • The road is for buses and utility vehicles only. There are BIG signs indicating this, which also say DO NOT TAILGATE. But - people are stupid...

  • mr bean

  • I could cure my hemorrhoids with a pole like that!

  • automatic barriers = fail

  • we got those on base, a car hit one plus got clipped by a passing car!LOL

  • dumbasses with a kid!! OyE!

  • i have never even seen these automatic barriers before. what places have theses?

  • The UK/Britain/England/whatever.

  • These are in Manchester near where I live. The roads they're on are pedestrianised areas where only buses and service vehicles (like the red Royal Mail van) should be travelling, because they know to go slowly. Cars have no place there and as other commenters have pointed out, there are LOTS of no entry signs, 'buses only' signs, barrier warning signs, every damn sign you can think of... and still those idiots who think they're somehow 'special' try to beat it. I love em!

  • :O

do you have more videos of that?

    post them ;)

  • I don't have videos unfortunately though I wish I did! This one is from a CCTV camera and the footage has been widely broadcast in the UK on news channels, documentaries etc. as an advisory as much as entertainment, I think!

  • Is it a sensor, do you know, or do they drive over a scale or something that only lowers the barrier if it's heavy enough, or what?

  • There's a transmitter inside the windscreen of the vehicles which sends a signal to the bollard control box (the box with the stop/go lights on) to lower them. There's also a pressure sensor in the road which counts the wheels passing over it (detects the front wheels pass, then the back wheels) so it knows when the vehicle is clear and instantly raises the bollard. Only vehicles like buses, police cars, fire engines, council cleaning vans, Royal Mail vans etc. have these transmitters fitted.

  • at 1:07... Woman driving...

  • actually, the woman wasn't the one that was driving. Look at what side the steering wheel is on.

  • How does it work?

  • Thats funny. People should pass an IQ test to be allowed to drive.

  • the lady with the children is lucky she didnt get punched in the face for driving so aggressivly at 1:10. look how fast she tried to go without even bothering to look at the pedestrians including the baby stroller.

  • Why should people that stupid be allowed to drive? They's endangering everyone else on the road.

  • At least it is effective... ;-)

  • The people are the stupid ones. There's a sign that clearly states "NO BUSSES ALLOWED" and the barrier. Only an idiot would try to run them. I'm glad they catch stupid people with their own airbags. Good riddance I say.

  • Because any designer of traffic barriers should know that people will try anything. So it makes it dangerous to those kinds of people. Why are those cars there behind the bus? Are they aware that its for buses only? I didn't know that. Could they be from other parts of the world where they don't have these kinds of things and are not aware of it?

  • Some people are just born selfish; it's not up to the rest of us to accommodate them. And people visiting from "other parts of the world" wouldn't be driving so aggressively in an urban setting. I think it's a great idea. It socks it the people who most need socking.

  • Anyone who hits thses barriers is a fool! As the video shows at the begining, there are TWO ILLUMINATED no-entry sings. I've been to a few places around the world, and certainly in europe that is the same sign all over! The people in this clip (in particular the first one) are just Idiots who think they are special enough to get onto the road. As for the second one racing the barriers with children in the car? I hope the wife took the kids away! Mental!

  • It ain't the people that are stoopid here, its the designer of the barrier.

  • hell no... how come it's a stupid barrier if it's really designed for busses only? it's a great design infact... i mean, look at those cars.. even though they accel. they still can't pass it... it's a really smart idea to do that..

  • The barrier is not stupid. It works great.

  • hahahaha nice vid thats funny but you just copied it from a nother website.... stupidvideos.
