Her dad is a pos saying she was a burden and it was the best thing when she ran off! He was too concerned with his new family and not his own daughter! Wtf!
Thank you for sharing these videos. I do not have Schizophrenia but I battle with severe social phobia, panic attacks and I a borderline paranoid disorder. You can help that you have these issues they are much like anything else like you can not help that you have a broken arm or leg or whatever. Some people are not given the gift of being a so called "functioning citizen". This girls needs love and all her dad sees is a burden. One day when he is old laying on his death bed he will feel DREAD!
@treehuggersteve Was just thinking that, steven's mom in the other documentary gave me the same impression, as well as missy's mom and dad. I don't think it always applies though.
UNITED INTERNET USERS =PROPAGANDA NEED U= The future of our children is the right to decide and choose. People left to themselves. Noise information was blind us. Do not look at them! Only the truth of existence. NO! SOPA, ACTA, PIPA NO!!! Ignorance.
I CAN'T BELIEVE THEY'D JUST STOW HER AWAY IN A PSYCH WARD. THAT'S FUCKING HORRIBLE. She's surrounded by selfish ASSHOLES. No wonder I hide from everyone!
Does it not sound kind of harsh that her Dad says he is "glad that she ran off?" Who would admit to being glad that their schizophrenic daughter might be laying in a ditch somewhere...or worse? Who says something like that? Because he is "telling the truth" makes it okay? I stand behind what I said...I think he is an asshole for saying that.
@QuitProfesserHiggins The reality of it is that yes, he's being honest, and yes, it sounds insensitive and selfish, but who are we to judge him for how he was feeling? His daughter's illness did probably almost ruin his marriage and perhaps her running off did free them of the burden- I don't think he meant that he was happy that she ran off in the sense that he didn't care what happened to her... The immensity and impact of this disease can't be understood by us outsiders
Hey guys. I'm battling from schizophrenia. I'm not asking for money or views or anything, but just for support and for people to hear me out. My psychiatrist said to let people know about your problem, but everyone thinks I'm weird and my family cannot understand or take me seriously. I made a blog about my problems, and I hope we can talk on there. My blog is battlingschizophrenia.blogspot.com . Fellow schizophrenics, you should also come. We can fight the battle together.
@bowecho Because to her, they're not delusions, they're reality. As long as she's not harming anyone, there's no reason to tell her she's wrong. Not only would she not believe you, but she'd probably just feel confused and frustrated. It's like if someone tried convincing you right now that you're not sitting in front of your computer, when you can see it clear as day.
You know the psychotropic drugs cause restless leg syndrome in some people .You cant relax, you're ancy.Im surprised they don't have some tardive dyskensia.

Sad. Truly. And if Missy was put into a situation that she has all the rights of society...and none of the responsibilities. Where she (or her family) do not have to be concerned about cost of treatment...are we as a society doing her justice? The social workers will say no we are not. We need to give her more. More and more. Would it matter if her family were billionaires? No. Her care will be provided by the taxpayers. And when a perceived slight to her is given...the family will sue.
As much as some might agree she doesn't have the greatest parents, you can no more blame the parents for her schizophrenia than you could blame bad parents for a child with leukemia. Schizophrenia is a disease, not a condition caused by poor parenting.
@Firebird1031 You can't deny the impact of socialization on a child's psyche (e.g. triggering psychosis). Her people are (or better were) still treating her like a child althought she's (or better she was) 30 something years old (back then). I perfectly agree with you as long as the argument is, that a precondition is needed though.
schizophrenic? or spoilt?

The parents of schizophrenics always seem a little off themselves. Notice his halting, somewhat unclear, and mildly tangential speech.
