@jayxunned Nothing, tho' eventually, as the pad deteriorates, the stutter mechanism and light meter combo will star to deteriorate in functionality. Also that "clunk" sound tends to be annoying. I fixed mine and it took me a good amount of time,,,but so worth it. Electro is an excellent camera when it works.
You have got this completely the wrong way around. The camera in this video is toasted. Any loud clack or thump means the pad of death is worn out. It should give a very light click when a good pad is in place.
The Pad of Death, or POD, is a small rubber pad that deteriorates over the years and throws off the electrical contact spacing as you depress the shutter release button. When this happens, it essentially "kills" the camera by causing weird things to happen during use because the contacts aren't where they are supposed to be.
You can use either a PX28A or PX28L battery. The battery is too small though so some cardboard to make a sleeve and a spring to fill in the gap will do the trick.
In my case I used the package the battery came in plus a $0.15 or so spring.
what will pad of death do to the film negatives?

Thump good, no thump bad? I always figured a rotting POD was sticky and was what was causing the shutter button to stick down like that.
