WOW this song ROX! I tend to go for Chris' earlier stuff of 'Living With The Law' era though this number is superb! Do you know the very first time I cranked up my 'Living With The Law' cassette I was watching skydivers parachuting on a hot New Zealand summer's day, 26 degrees celcius, no clouds in the sky, no wind, priceless I tell ya...I was 30 years of age and was 3 years into my recovery from my self-responsible motorcycle accident that was a near-death experience. I am a hemipelvectomy.
Nice one! i remember this Bowery ballromm. if i remember correctly, logic played w/ his band the night before or 2 nights before. i do remember going both nights and Chris played w/ him too.
Chris was amazing. i consider myself blessed to have been able to see him a few times live over the years... if i had 1/100th the musical skill, i'd quit my day job!
RIP. He will be sorely missed. there is no replacement or substitute. truly unique.. and how often can you say that these days...
He was the Mozart of his era. Once in a generation, never truely appreciated in his lifetime. What a body of work he left us. I can't listen to other music written by other artists, it's not really music after listening to his work.
well Tony - that's the dilemma - after listening and appreciating Chris's work - there is just nothing else near it..btw- thanks for posting them great videos- i have tears in my eyes.
Tell me about it. In a weird way I almost wish I'd never discovered him. He's ruined most other music for me. Particularly my own. Everything just sounds so empty after Chris. Good to know there are others that feel the same and I'm not just losing my mind.
@TonyTony1492 No music in the world like those songs from rocket house ...it's like he was writing directly to something so deep inside me I'd had no idea it was even there.

The instrumentation is great, but the scratcher stuff is annoying and actually detracts.

Yeah, underrated, obscure and absolutely brilliant. Open tunings or not, one of the best guitarists, singers, songwriters ever. Nothing but soul. RIP

I taped this concert on spec. Nothing ever came of it, other than recording his remarkable talent.

GREAT.
Is this concert (and others) on cd?
I only know the Live at Martyrs'.
Whitley' s vision about music always cracked me.
Good job, TonyTony.
