i suggest you get Wild Ducks Flying Backward ( the short writings of Tom Robbins) .
lots of GREAT short works ... Travel Articles ( Tom talks about traveling to the Canyon of the Vagina's , among other places ) , Tributes ( see Tom gush over the doors , jennifer jason leigh , leonard cohen and , of course , redheads ) , poems and lyrics , musings and critiques and also some responses to questions he's gotten .

I like to read a vast array of stuff, but for fiction I especially like stuff that is metaphysical, sometimes moralistic, sometimes dreamlike. I read through a lot of fantasy in high school, especially Tolkien, probably more comics than I want to admit. A few of my favs are Kafka, Hesse and especailly Haruki Murakami,
