@ZOMBIErxPrescription The electronic artists on AMP in the 1990s made music that is far advanced than Lady Gaga''s music. I bought a pair of Pure Sound 6mm driver earbuds and it has allowed me to hear sounds in these 1990s electronic sounds I have never heard before. So I have rediscovered this music.
I was first introduced to Underworld with the video "Cowgirl" on AMP. Great beats, hard hitting and kicks ass!!! If I had not seen AMP I would have never known Underworld, Fluke, Future Sound of London, Chemical Brothers or Oribital existed. Some can bash MTV, but this is the one time I want to thank them for introducing us to such great music for once
Yeah, back when MTV stood for MUSIC Television....not Drama, reality show Television....MTV really dropped the ball in the last decade. Why do you think they keep trying to claw their way back with MTV 2, ETC. They need to sit down with the retired producers, and brainstorm. You know, the guys that made AMP possible, and shit like Headbangers ball? Not saying I'm a fan, just saying MTV should = MUSIC Television.
Drop all the crap "shows". What happened to YO Mtv Raps??? LOL hell I'd enjoy watching Ed Lover for a couple hours, as opposed to this foo foo crappy stuff.
This song is about 10 or 11 minutes long, and all those minutes of the song are awesome! This reminds me of another song of Underworld that was very long, but awesome- "Pearl's Girl" (like from the soundtrack to "The Saint"). Doesn't songs like this just take you back to when this genre had a voice and actually caught on with people besides the underground? Nowadays, the rock types overtaken this genre, even hip-hop, most pop, and stuff like that. Underworld freaking rules, and so did MTV's Amp!
I hate music videos as a whole, but Asbestos Lead Asbestos is one of the most brilliant videos ever made. Why it did not become major, I do not understand.
every time i listen to mbm, i am amazed at their brilliant usage of samples... that female shout and baby crying is just perfect. and this video is great too.
Oh, this brings back memories. Honestly, the 90's were the Golden Age of electronic music in all it's aspects, and AMP was one of the best shows to ever showcase it.
@anaktis I agree with you. It is amazing getting able to watch these on youtube, but it was really special though to watch these when they originally aired.
The video clips from train spotting are spot on. In the movie Renton has a scene where he feels like he is getting old because the next generation is listening to music like this. If I remember correctly this song is playing while Renton is having these thoughts.
Ey!Was that Chuck Norris at 0:13?!

when i was listening to amp back in college, i thought after 2001 the music scene will be dominated by techno...

@anaktis It all went downhill after the 90s. The music (if any) mtv plays now is horrible. Thank God for VH1 Classic.
