Hi Jay ... left a comment in ur mailbox 24hrs ago ... u haven`t logged on the channel in 24 + hrs ... u must be in another one of those 24 hour after school detentions again ... naughty schoolboy !!! de MI3WQT
You are in Norfolk of course! I've heard so much Portuguese spoken in Great Yarmouth! Some say Portuguese is now the second language of Norfolk after English! I wonder if some of these "Recém Chegados" (recently arrived)(I say this with respect for them/Digo isto com respeito para eles: We are all EU members) are radio amateurs? They would like D-star, I'm sure for internet linking with Portuguese speaking countries? Many new Portuguese Repeaters are D-Star.
I understand that for your license class, the power level is 50 watts in the UK, of course, that is more than plenty for 2 meters with a good efficient antenna system!
Congratulations on the new callsign, giving you more permitted power output and more bands (microwaves) and priveleges. Just a note to linespermillimeter: The UK has a 3 tier licensing system, the prefix denoting the class of licence. One can keep the Foundation callsign, but with it are Foundation class priveleges only.
