The distortion on the audio is due to excessive recording level, I very much doubt that it was introduced at the source. Level meters are scarce on computer recording software making it easy to get the recording levels wrong. Even CD's have recording levels all over the place.
People who r from China or Taiwan should welcome people from all language back ground ( sepecially oversea Chinese) who are interested in traditional Chinese music. This is how the music can spread out to the world (I assume this is our common goal) . Like David Lee, I am Malaysian Chinese, now living in Canada. I can write original Chinese characters (versus simplified). I can sing Tong, Song poems, but I found it very difficult to type Chinese . so i prefer to write in English.
A lot of overseas people think the "mainlanders" are arrogant, prejudiced, and arrogant. I saw a CCTV "news" segment the other day about the violence in Xinjiang. One of the "mainlander" migrant interviewees accused the natives of being stupid for not accepting the new and better lifestyles that migrants were offering. It occurred to me that the "mainlander" held the same exact attitude that imperialist Europeans had of the Chinese.
English has its limitation to express Chinese words!! when you use Chinese to think, you think in Chinese way. while you use English, you think in English way. Art stay in the unclear boundary...thats the beauty
This is such a beautiful piece. Does it come in bad on anyone else's speakers or do mine just suck that bad? It sounds all scratchy on mine and it pisses me off.
YES, the trouble is that perfect sound can only be produced in a recording studio due to the set up there.
Reminds me of the worst car I ever had to drive Vauxhall Corsa, brand new hire car with 130 on the clock, it was all over the road and that was at 20. But the stereo....
Perfect. But was this to mask the annoying road noise!!!!!!!! Nissan, Honda,
and Toyota seem to have got it right. Perhaps they should also get into recording of music.
We are overseas Chinese who have been here for many years. Many of us do not have the software to write in Chinese; still others just feel typing in English is a little time-saving. No offense, please.
We just like Yu hung-mei and her music! We also love China and Chinese people.
It's amusing how the girl in the second row of the ehru players (behind Hung-mei, her head kind of down) is smiling and then turns to Yu when she does the intro. It's like Yu Hung-mei is being an inspiration for her. X3
Great feeling and passion. It's another world of a great virtuoso, Two strings. A stunning performance compared to the more pedestrian if you can ever call them that, performance pieces. She needs to get out more.
it doesn't really matter to me, if its very traditional. Its good music with traditional chinese instruments. It sounds fantastic to me, especiallly the erhu. I really love this kind of music. But over here in germany I ain't have too many chances to hear that kind of music very often.
Yu Hongmei is perfect! Such elegance and class while displaying perfect precision on the Erhu!

Beautiful song. Execellent erhu player. Great Orchestra. But the recording quality has a lot of room of improvement.

Seems to me Yu in solo is more winding, and more forceful and touching.
