most beautiful vid I´ve ever seen! Thanx!! ..and the song is so deep, anyway, makes you wanna drink& cry into your beer...best greetings from hamburg, germany
@Trikele179 Thanks! It was really easy, just thrown together in move-maker! And no, not my photos, I grabbed them from google images and wikimedia commons. Have a great day! : )
Freedom is a state of mind - and the state tried hard to ruin the great mind of sands, his poetry is a testiment to the strength he held within, his vision and the pride he had in his cause, a socialist, a democrat, an elected official.
Heres to hoping that kind of sacrifice is never needed again to restore the rights of this nation to govern itself, peacefully and democratically in a way that serves its people in a fitting and fair manner
Death to thatcher and her campaign of criminalisation.
@G0disman in anyones language .being in an organisation that promoted murder intimidation ,indiscriminate bombing, maiming both catholic and protestant alike, if any other civiilian in the UK ireland or europe, commited these acts , its criminal, republicans logic says it isnt, if it isnt criminal, so wasnt loyalist killings either, crime is crime .i hate maggie myself but the stance over the IRA was correct.,and more think that ,than the republican view on armed struggle
@TheMightOfTheEnglish ... I do not support armed violence and condemn those actions, having been present at some of these atrocities (most notably omagh) I trust you have studied why the IRA came back into operation at the time of the troubles as British troops were deployed long before the IRA began operations (not to counteract the IRA but to restore order after the injustices of the Unionist government), PS your english you can't take the moral stance, your gov was much worse historically!
@G0disman we can take the moral stance when it was your towns they were destroying, when their own people, the catholics were amongst the victims to, who made the IRA judge and jury ,when it came to punishment beatings, and using strong arm tactics on their own, there were irish surnames amongst the dead in the birmingham bus bombings, and like it or not ,most of the provos were NI born, making them british subjects by birth , i agree the original civil rights cause was a righteous one
@TheMightOfTheEnglish I have no wish to insult you or belittle your words, i agree with much of what you wrote, having come from a mixed household in NI, but the IRA was an army (a morally poor one at that) that goes for all the paramilitaries... i hold disgust for the lot. Nonetheless they were political activists within organised armies, sands was also a democratically elected MP!!! Thatcher sent armies to war and had socially detremental policies like many governments before and after her!
@G0disman fair comment , but to us the members of the IRA and loyalists ,who carried guns and weapons, were ordinary civilians who armed themselves, they were not above the law, in any nation,if i had done the same and came over to join the fight ,id expect if caught to face the full force of the law, the irish republic didnt even reconise them,, as for being an MP ,it was a farce,as he had no intention of being an MP it was done to mess up the system,
@G0disman it wa very close ,both had approx 20,000 thousand and he got in by a few hundred votes , it was totally misuse of the system,, imagine , that lennie murphy ,being uses in a similar way, and imagine him getting voted as an MP, would nationalists view it as legit, and concidering the IRA had assisinated MPs ,it was a farce, not saying bobby sands was a bad man deep down, there were worse , but he did break the law ,and why sould he get away with it when we wouldnt
@G0disman thatcher was right on 2 occasions ,the ira prisoners and the falklands , everything else she did wasnt , apart fom being able to buy your council house everthing else ruined this country, the anti union laws practically destroyed them, and the destruction of manufacturing and heavy industry, the loss of skills ,and so on, hating maggie is a common cause ,just the different policies on different subjects we dont agree on, so we,ll agree to disagree,,i do like the song by the way
@G0disman Sands speaks from his heart unlike Thatcher...................a passion to die for what is right. Thatcher's soul is low will never reach heights of good men and goo d souls who sacrifice their very being for others. Just look left to the Middle East, at last the people stand up for what is right. Revolution of good over evil takes time but is a worthy cause.
everytime I hear this, I cry....so beautifull
