this is what i did.

for christmas i got epi sg special (my first electric)

then i purchased grover machine heads black

and emg kerry king signitures (81/85/pa2 gain booster)and in stalled tuners and pickups.

but what i found a miracle cuz i tought of it is where your jack plug inlet is on ur guitar i took jack out if it and put the pa2 in it and i drilled a hole in the side and put my jack in there......

why didnt u save up for the G400 atleast? ive been playing guitar for 4 months and I own the G400 (after owning my crappy Starcaster) shouldve saved up for the G400, compared to the the SG Special, the G400 teabags it.

there is no "killswitch" it is a toggle switch, and unless you have a blown pickup, it will not work like a killswitch. probably just semantics, but just so that nobody gets the wrong idea

you can find good used G-400's on craigslist usually.  No need to buy brand new when it comes to guitars. NEVER buy any guitar with the word SPECIAL on it.

the newer models are much better now and have a lil more quality especially the knobs i heard were a problem but they fixed it because they would fall off after wear and tear

I played once that guitar it stays out of tune all the time, and the neck is sooooo ''cheap'' low on quality , sucks!

Wan't an afordable one, epiphone sg310 or sg g 400 ..

Or even epiphone les paul custom (sg)

why spend $1000 on a gibson SG, when you can buy an Epiphone G400 SG for $400, which is just as good. the only reason the Gibson SG is so expensive because of name. in my opinion the only good Gibson's for METAL i think are the custom shops which are hella expensive. but if you wanna play blues and stuff, then Gibson will give you a good solid bluesie sound. nothing heavy. but why spend all that money for a name? when you can buy a Epiphone that is just as good

I know what your saying but thats not quite true, i am buying an epiphone cause i can't afford gibson, but the truth is that gibson is made with more quality products and as minor mistakes ... epiphones have terribel neck, but the sg aren't so bad... its a great guitar, but gibson blows epiphone it all night long ...

Best epiphone for me is - Epiphone Sg Lespaul custom !

Mines made in Korea and Um.. I had big problem with my tone knob, switch and the rear pickup. It is getting fixed and will be replace to new pickup and I can't really wait until they fix it by sometime this week :D I love this guitar.

Naaah, mines great! I love the sounds on my electric guitar, has awesome quality and I'm replacing it to new pickup because the rear pickup was messing up but rather than that, it's a great guitar don't tell me to get a new stuff for it because I love the way my guitar is and I just love it.

ya i know its a great guitar. i have one. its just that my bridge pickup broke the second month i had one and i got a better one. it sounds AWESOME!!!

Lol I had it for like 2-3 years and the bridge pickup started to acting like crap yeah so the technician is replacing and repairing it. I can't wait to get my guitar back next tuesday hah hah :P

one day one dud told me buy a gibson looser but how fucked he is he didn't know it is somehow a gibson because it has a license of gibson by being an Epiphone and it sound very likely but a thousands of dollars less! i really love this baby, and it's color is amazing (love at first sight)i recommed it widely

I really recommend either the SG, Flying V, or the Explorer. Unless you want to spend 1200 dollars, get the epiphone.
