Where would the whole world be without the discoveries, scientific breakthroughs, inventions, technologies, structured societies, ideologies, and all advancements of the West (Europe especially)? But, during the past 1000 years, not 200, the West has been dominating and contributed far more than any other nation during the past 200 years in new technology, ideology, and invention. Oh, and the only real "payback" Asia can execute is immigration to the West. The only military power in Asia that seems to have a chance against America alone is China. Science and industrialisation is what made Europe wealthy and of course a lot of resources came from colonies, but do you think it would have made much difference if we'd bought them? Hence west called it arab number systems. Scientific world knows the truth now. India at that stage was known as Bharat or Hnidustan and included pakistan and bangladesh, before division in 1940's. Any sort of "aid" does not really lead to economic growth. You should read "The White Man's Burden". In the book, William Easterly points out that the west has spent $2.3 TRILLION over the last five decades to aid africa, but the continent still suffers from poverty and aids. Pouring money into countries does not result in economic well-being. The change has to come within that country.

Any country can rise if it opens up to new ideas and knowledge beyond its shores. Traditional knowledge is not enough. America learned because she had to and became what it is. Japan did the same even though she was more traditional and provincial. China started to learn again only in the 80's, after centuries of arrogance and within that short time it became what it is. There are nations which don't want to learn nor want to embrace others. These are nations which will never become.

From ancient to modern times, Europeans gave hard cash in the form of gold/silver in return for expendable luxury items. Science and industrialisation is what made Europe wealthy and of course a lot of resources came from colonies, but do you think it would have made much difference if we'd bought them? I don't think so.. Europe gave its colonies technology and created infrastructures that Asia still uses today, your economic growth is based on European initiatives. Don't get me wrong though, I'm not in favor of colonialism or imperialism.

Hence west called it arab number systems. Scientific world knows the truth now. India at that stage was known as Bharat or Hnidustan and included pakistan and bangladesh, before division in 1940's. East Asia's economic growth is attributed to an export-driven model of economic development, an emphasis on education and training of the labour force, and committment to egalitrianism. Moreover, South Korea was only able to get substantial aid from US after agreeing to send troops to vietnam to help them.

Any sort of "aid" does not really lead to economic growth. You should read "The White Man's Burden". In the book, William Easterly points out that the west has spent $2.3 TRILLION over the last five decades to aid africa, but the continent still suffers from poverty and aids. Pouring money into countries does not result in economic well-being. The change has to come within that country.

china actually helps other poor nations life africa....and china is suppossed to be the enemy ?...who have they invaded ?..and yet, america with all their power, never helps africa in 2 hundred years..."feed the homless" is not america helping....its a religion helping...get that through your thick skulls!!!!...btw, AMERICA. dont start another war...you will just lose again..vietnam, korea, afghanistan, drug war between mexico and american borders, etcc..etc....
