im not a pro on the subject cuz i dont have mics but ino you can still use mic a bass without a hole. I garentee you dont have to buy a new bass head because i just bought these little rings called drum "o's" at guitar center and it takes you through instructions how to cut the hole and replace with a metal ring. they cost under 20 bucks

that is strange i usually use a seperate mount that i bought apart from the kit but there are tom mounts right on top of my bass drum

Ohh well i bought the kit with 10 inch a 12 inch rack toms and a 16 inch floor tom. the other ones that you see in the video are from my old drumset. the reason they are similar colors is because i stripped the skin off of my old set and it was a convient maple color like my new set. but i would try looking on line or finding ones and spray painting them.
