well it seems like Ferrari is the only one going on with plans to build parks near dubai. Since busch sold this project was scrapped. the six flags proposal that was met with praise by the company has been scrapped since the company is bankrupt. Universal still has it on the table but is busy with their other new park opening, and disney has its hands maintaining their other new parks across seas to think about it right now. So much for me saving up to go to dubai by 2014

What flora and fauna? It's THE DESERT... and the ocean is much, much, much bigger than the area that the palm and world islands take up. Seriously, give everyone a break... instead of money being spent on garbage like wars and useless government programs that line the pockets of people who produce nothing and programs that don't work (the U.S.) at least money is being spent building things. I wouldn't be surprised if they start pouring their billions into science and solving real problems soon.

Six Flags is also building a park in Dubai. I expect that Cedar Point, Disney, and Unviersal Studios will soon get in on the action there with their own parks.

Not supposedly, but actually are about conservation. I know one of the educators at a Sea World park and he and his co-workers as well as the animal care staff are very passionate about their job. It's not a job to them, but it's actually about spreading that passion to those that visit those parks, showing people what they don't see everyday, experiencing what they don't everyday. It's better to have a company like Busch Entertainment getting out there than some random hotel, casino, mall, etc.

They're building out there for the same reason as everyone else: money money money. I personally feel that as conservationists they shouldn't be promoting an environmental fiasco such as the Palms by building on an orca-shaped chunk.

It's great to hear that your friend and his co-workers are passionate about their jobs and the animals; however it doesn't translate into the actual company (upper management) feeling the same.

Right, we all need money! But we also need conservation and it's not a hard concept at all. We can only hope that those higher ups are as dedicated and truthful as the people they staff, and the guests they have. I'll tell you one thing, those guests sure don't go to Sea World for their roller coasters, they go for the experience it gives them. The opportunity that provides to see something they don't everyday. And to help appreciate what we have still in this world. Those up top gotta see it.

not necessarily Busch Entertainment that is "destroying environments." the Palm Islands, which The Crown will be a part of was commissioned by a Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum in order to increase Dubai's tourism. It is being created by a company called Nakheel Properties. Busch Entertainment took advantage of the land yeah, but it really isn't their call to who makes the island in the first place.
